He meets Cheon Sa Rang (YoonA) who is always equipped with a bright smile even when she does not want to due to the nature of her profession, and together, the two set out to find happy days in which they can sincerely smile brightly together. King the Land refers to a VVIP business lounge, which is a place of dreams for hoteliers.

 

The newly released teaser kicks off with the sweet gazes of Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang, making them appear as if they are a couple who coincidentally met at King Hotel and fell for each other. But the next moment, the atmosphere changes in an instant as Gu Won puts on a crooked smile next to Cheon Sa Rang who smiles brightly.

Their sweet gazes are nowhere to be found, and they throw sharp words at one another, saying, “I clearly warned you not to run into me,” and, “I will try to avoid you better from now on.” Gu Won’s remark, “You’re really a bad fit,” and Cheon Sa Rang’s response, “No matter what you do, you won’t click with me,” make viewers guess that the two are different people in many ways who can’t get along well with one another.

 

Toward the end, the clip gives a sneak peek at the subtle change in the relationship between the two as they make eye contact, raising viewers’ anticipation for the drama which will portray enmity turning into fated love.

The text that reads, “The magic of love that will save you,” raises viewers’ anticipation for the chemistry between Gu Won and Sa Rang who will introduce their sweet love story. JTBC’s upcoming romance drama “King the Land” starring Girls’ Generation’s YoonA and 2PM’s Lee Junho has unveiled a third teaser!

 

“King the Land” is about a chaebol heir named Gu Won (Lee Junho) who cannot stand fake smiles. He meets Cheon Sa Rang (YoonA) who is always equipped with a bright smile even when she does not want to due to the nature of her profession, and together, the two set out to find happy days in which they can sincerely smile brightly together. King the Land refers to a VVIP business lounge, which is a place of dreams for hoteliers.

 

The teaser begins with Gu Won making his grand entrance by jumping from an airplane. As the general manager of King Hotel, Gu Won appears to have everything he could want and more, from good looks to intelligence and wealth.

 

However, there are three specific things that Gu Won does not have: a housing savings account, laughter, and love cells. He is especially against laughter and fake smiles, awkwardly raising the side of his lip when asked to smile for a photo. This extends to others as he tells Cheon Sa Rang in an annoyed tone, “Don’t smile.” On a separate occasion, he warns her, “If you smile, you’re fired.”

 

In addition to hating smiles, Gu Won boasts a cold personality and severely lacks wit and a sense of humor, resulting in his stale love life. His blunt attitude is no help as he harshly tells Cheon Sa Rang, “Even if you died and came back, you are not my style.”

 

Following everyone’s snide comments about his lack of experience with dating, Gu Won finally musters to courage to ask Cheon Sa Rang, “Do you want to have dinner with me?” But she nonchalantly responds, “I don’t want to,” instantly flustering him.

The newly released poster depicts the romantic chemistry between Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang. In the first poster, Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang sit in front of the doors to King the Land with Cheon Sa Rang’s arm wrapped around Gu Won’s shoulder and Gu Won naturally holding onto her hand. Above them, there is the text, “Will you check-in to a fate-like love?” making viewers wonder if Cheon Sa Rang will help Gu Won, who is a novice when it comes to relationships, learn more about love.

 

 

Another poster depicts Cheon Sa Rang and Gu Won only focusing on each other as they make deep eye contact. JTBC’s upcoming romance drama “King the Land” has shared a sneak peek of Girls’ Generation’s YoonA and 2PM’s Lee Junho’s awkward first encounter!

 

“King the Land” will tell the story of the unlikely romance between Gu Won (2PM’s Lee Junho), a chaebol heir who can’t stand fake smiles, and the constantly smiling Cheon Sa Rang (Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA), who becomes known as the “queen of smiles” while working her way up through the ranks of the King Hotel.

 

While the previously released teaser gave viewers a glimpse into Gu Won’s character, the fourth teaser introduces the many charms of Cheon Sa Rang. The new teaser begins with Cheon Sa Rang’s bright greeting as she introduces herself as one of the employees at the King Hotel’s VVIP lounge “King the Land.” Due to the nature of her profession, Cheon Sa Rang is always equipped with a bright smile even when she does not want to. While flaunting her so-called “Hermès smile,” Cheon Sa Rang remarks, “Smile and smile some more. I even practice smiling in my sleep.”

However, unlike her smile which is the fruit of her continuous effort and hard work, there are two things that Cheon Sa Rang’s naturally born with: her high spirit and her bad drinking habit. The teaser shows Cheon Sa Rang getting more chirpy and lively the more she drinks to the point that she ends up dissing and roasting the man next to her relentlessly.

 

Later when she finds out that that very man is Gu Won, the new general manager of King Hotel where she works, she tries to avoid him at all costs, but to no avail. To make matters worse, Gu Won seems to remember everything crystal clear as he eerily says to Cheon Sa Rang, “We meet again.” Despite declaring that she’s “not the type to do such thing as regret” when she was drunk, the next scene shows Cheon Sa Rang shouting at the top of her lungs, “Save me!”

 

At the end of the video, the teaser hints at an upcoming event that can be a turning point in the two’s relationship as someone recommends that Gu Won go with the ever-so-friendly Cheon Sa Rang to the “battlefield” as the company’s representative. Upon hearing this, Cheon Sa Rang asks in bewilderment, “I’m going to the battlefield?!”

The way she points her fingers to the ends of her smile also depicts how she is “a woman who has to smile.”

2PM’s Lee Junho has shared his thoughts on his upcoming JTBC drama “King the Land”!

 

“King the Land” will tell the story of the unlikely romance between Gu Won (2PM’s Lee Junho), a chaebol heir who can’t stand fake smiles, and the constantly smiling Cheon Sa Rang (Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA), who becomes known as the “queen of smiles” while working her way up at the King Hotel.

 

Although Gu Won appears to have everything going for him, from his privileged background to his handsome looks and sharp mind, he is secretly hiding deep-seated emotional scars and trauma. His inner wounds have made him both cynical and prickly, but when he meets his polar opposite in Cheon Sa Rang—whom he initially can’t stand—she somehow manages to get past his thorns.

 

 

Describing why he chose the drama for his next project, Lee Junho shared, “Since it’s a romantic comedy, I wanted to film the drama happily, while having fun, and I looked forward to that. I also thought there would be a joy in creating the drama together while enjoying a feel-good chemistry with the great director, cast, and crew. I wanted to try acting in a style that viewers would like, that would make them laugh while also making their hearts’ flutter.”

 

As for what he’s choosing to focus on in his portrayal of his character, Lee Junho remarked, “In order for Gu Won’s cynical side and intimidating aura to shine through in every scene even without saying anything, I’m trying to establish a base of understated emotion [for the character]. Also, after he meets Cheon Sa Rang, he starts to get rid of his wounds and trauma, and I hope that side of him will become a key part of his appeal.”

 

“In terms of his style, [Gu Won] wears three-piece suits as befits a third-generation chaebol heir,” he continued. “I thought it would be good for his stylishness and solid body to show outside of the suit as well, so I worked hard to prepare for that.”

 

 

Finally, Lee Junho concluded by telling viewers, “I think the charm of ‘King the Land’ is that even things you already know feel fresh and different [in our story]. Please give lots of love and interest to Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang’s romance and their journey of gradually seeping into one another’s hearts.”

A wild fifth teaser has dropped for JTBC’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama “King the Land”!

 

“King the Land” will tell the story of the unlikely romance between Gu Won (2PM’s Lee Junho), a chaebol heir who can’t stand fake smiles, and the constantly smiling Cheon Sa Rang (Girls’ Generation’s YoonA), who becomes known as the “queen of smiles” while working her way up at the King Hotel.

 

The newest teaser begins with the awkward first meeting between Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang, who are extremely different in every possible way. After she welcomes him with an over-the-top greeting, Gu Won tells her in a disapproving tone, “don’t smile.”

 

She explains with a bright smile, “Just think of it as my uniform.” However, he quickly wipes the smile off her face when he adds, “If you smile, you’re fired.”

 

They continue to clash as time goes on, with Gu Won warning Cheon Sa Rang, “I’m pretty sure I told you not to fake smile.” Annoyed, Cheon Sa Rang responds, “I’m working right now.”

 

While Cheon Sa Rang must do everything she can to survive each day, Gu Won has lived his entire life like a king while being supported by everyone around him. Despite this obvious difference, Gu Won starts to grow attached to Cheon Sa Rang and becomes even more determined to win her over when she turns him down.

 

When Gu Won’s secretary Noh Sang Sik (Ahn Se Ha) jokes that others might assume Gu Won has a crush on Cheon Sa Rang, Gu Won denies it with a suspicious level of aggression.

 

Eventually, the two warm up to each other and their relationship starts to develop romantically. At the end of the teaser, they’re sitting outside together when Gu Won sweetly comments, “I will protect you.” Despite his intentions, the smallest sound sends him into a frenzy as he lets out a small cry and quickly hides behind Cheon Sa Rang.
