i want to join in to spazz about my new crack drama after years , hwayugi . hongsisters are back better than ever . the rich world building was done so much better than their previous drama's. the gosts and demons are more scary than masters sun and  even though it's been just two episodes already we are at the begining of the new journey retelling with monkey king now obliged to help the monk in her quest to ward the world of evil and impending doom . 

 

i have no prior knowledge of the og new journey to west , but the fan princess iron fist  was a real person . small details like that from the begining which will come up later is always neat 

 

the meta of entertainment industry is the tool of the devil is and how all hit starts are demons , how topstar pk suck the souls out of fangirls is something so fresh with a touch a realism was so cheaky .

 

i loved the two episodes and didn't mind the 90 minutes at all. ( yet) seunggi and ohyeonseo have oozing sizzling  chemistry from the get go, all the actors are so well cast in their roles, specially seunggi . he's just a delight to watch as monkey king . cha seung won and oh yoen seo are amazing , all the suporting cast are well written into the story that you don't feel like a drag watching them. 

 

my post is getting too long, so want to finish it by adressing the mess tvn made with episode 2 , seriously they didn't realize a drama with zombie's, demons and ghosts , flying around will need time to workout the cgi? it's hilarious and sad they are already in trouble and we are just in ep 2 . and to top this the accident of the employee is so sad . hope he will recover fully . though i want to watch episode 3 right now they need workout the issues not to comprimise the qualty of the drama and the safety of all involved .

I love this so far.  More than Goblin this reminds me of MGIAG and of course I love the fresh approach to Journey to the West. I love Oh-gong and his antics.  He's a troublemaker, but he's such an interesting hero because you really never know what he's going to do.  I can't trust him at all, but Seunggi also plays him in a way that you can't really get mad at him.  It was perfect casting.   I also really like Sun-mi and instead of being bothered by the fact that she needs protecting (as many kdrama females usually do), you can really understand why she does and I want that for her.  She's suffered for so long alone and want her to have someone there by her side. So looking forward to episode 3.

i only watched like 1st half of goblin . it's the only KES drama i liked , it had evrything going for it expect the romance . i could not get into it with the age gap . that being said i don't want dismiss goblin and hope goblin fans won't dismiss hwayugi aswell. maybe some of them are tuning in because hwayugi feels familiar and i want evryone to enjoy it because so far hwayugi is amazing .

i feel so bad for kid jsm , beeing shunned by friends and her grandmother being a ghost . she needs protection only from demons who wants to eat her , she was doing just fine before she knew she's samjang and before monsters started coming after her life . so she is not a damsel in distress . she's strong , i would have been depressed as hell , but she managed to build an empire out of exorcing ghosts from an umbrella .

Yes, sunmi is not a dimsel in distress... she has her limit cos she is a human being but her will not to ever give up is amazing. The way she said how she is proud and treasure herself more because she managed to survive all these years....

I love her house too.. it's so pretty and cute.

Really? The 1st director is Park Hong-kyun known for New Heart, Queen Seondeok, The Greatest Love, Warm and Cozy. And read that knet is focusing on him after recent issues...

So is adding another PD is to help with the filming...or to ease off some criticism from knet?

Hope no more negative issues. The show esp storyline has great potential. It is very loosely adapted with new elements. At least better than the japanese version many yrs ago which still follow the journey to the west but get an actress to act the monk.

Yes Park Hong Kyun directed some popular works and he is one of the reason Lee Seung Gi accepted the role. He said he wants to try working with him too...

 

the new Pd only joins in to help right? Cos his works are all not that great except "Secret"

Episode 2 was definitely exciting with the getting locked up in the picture and all that. I, like Sunmi was quite surprised when she saw herself kissing monkey king and her clothing confused me as well, also the fact that the well showed future unfortunate events. Everything played out very interestingly, Sunmi getting abducted by the horny demon and Gong going to rescue her, the kiss being the bracelet binder was very shocking, I'm looking forward to seeing how their relationship will be affected. Ma Wang's intentions are still unclear to me. Him and Son Oh Gong seem to have a bad blood from the past, but why they live together like it isn't a big deal is a little bit off throwing.

Not sure about what the article is saying, but what's up with this drama's production? are they trying to make things faster? Did the production start later than it was intended? It's only been 2 episodes and there have been so much problems, I hope it won't affect the overall performance of the drama. Also hope the cgi effects will be better like it was in other tvN dramas

I think it is just some call out by either viewers and some union vip.

But morr details are revealed. The injured person did say he was tired but was threaten to go up. There is no safety tool. And the area where he climbed up to or on...is made of fragile material.
