Jung Yumi offered writer Noh Hee-kyung’s new drama Live

by girlfriday

JungYumi1.jpg

Star writer Noh Hee-kyung, of thoughtful human dramas Dear My Friends, It’s Okay It’s Love, Padam Padam and more, has announced that the synopsis is out for her next drama, titled Live (as in the verb, live or die), and a casting offer is out to Jung Yumi (Discovery of Romance) to headline. The new series will be about police officers, though coming from Noh Hee-kyung, I don’t expect the usual cop thriller or procedural.

The drama is about “grass-roots democracy,” portrayed through the lives of police officers who are considered “the people’s walking stick” or “the judge of the streets.” As with most Noh Hee-kyung dramas, it’ll be about people and relationships rather than the typical police genre story, and it’s said to be a celebration of police officers as civil servants who keep the peace. The drama will portray the cops as someone’s father, or sibling, or child, with a particular focus on portraying hardworking fathers.

Jung Yumi has been offered the role of a police officer, and no other details have been revealed yet about her character. All we know for now is that the cast will include middle-aged men and a crop of younger officers. I’m just happy that Jung Yumi might come back to dramaland, because I love her easygoing, natural acting style.

Lee Kwang Soo In Talks To Star In New Drama As Male Lead Opposite Jung Yoo Mi

lee-kwang-soo-jung-yoo-mi.jpg

Lee Kwang Soo may be starring in screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung’s new drama “Live” (tentative title) as the male lead!

On June 19, Lee Kwang Soo’s agency King Kong by Starship stated, “Lee Kwang Soo was offered the role of a young police officer in Noh Hee Kyung’s new drama ‘Live’ and is positively looking over the offer.” Jung Yoo Mi is also considering a role in the drama as the main lead.

“Live” will follow a police patrol division in their portrayal of grassroots democracy and will be an anthem of the glorious justice of democracy. It will be a drama about finding our true selves despite having already grown up into adults.

Lee Kwang-soo up for reunion with writer Noh Hee-kyung in Live

by girlfriday

LeeKwangSoo1.jpg

Lee Kwang-soo (Entourage) may be lining up his third drama with star writer Noh Hee-kyung, this time as a leading man after being part of the ensemble casts of her last two dramas, Dear My Friends and It’s Okay, It’s Love. There were a lot of things I loved about the realistic human drama Dear My Friends, but no one else made me cry as much as Kim Hye-ja and Lee Kwang-soo’s mother-son pair. I’m excited for him that he’s been offered a leading role, and that it’s in a Noh Hee-kyung drama; hopefully it’ll have the added benefit of erasing Entourage from our collective memories.

The new drama is called Live, and will be another collaboration between writer Noh Hee-kyung and PD Kim Kyu-tae, who are teaming up for their fifth drama following It’s Okay It’s Love, That Winter The Wind Blows, Padam Padam, and The World They Live In. An offer is currently out to Jung Yumi (Discovery of Romance) to star, and she’s considering favorably.

Actor Seong dongil holds hands with Noh Hee-kyung again.

20170531_1496232291_03034800_1.jpg?14978

According to multiple broadcasting officials, Seong Dong Il will join Noh Hee-kyung's new drama 'Live (Live)', which will be broadcasted in 2018. We are discussing the formation of broadcasting companies.

'Live' is a drama about what happens in the police in the earth. This work, based on grassroots democracy, depicts the journey of those who became adults as they lost their true justice and direction.

With this, Seongdongil is the third time to cooperate with Noh Hee-kyung. In 2014, Seo Dong Il served as a psychiatrist Jo Dongmin in SBS 'It's okay, It`s in love', showing a new spectrum out of the comic characters. Since then, he has appeared as a guarantor on TVN 'Dear My Friend', and showed off his strong dedication.

I don`t know if he is still joining the drama. The article was released in June.

Lee Kwang-soo, Jung Yu-mi & Bae Seong-woo in Upcoming Drama, "Live"

photo880317.jpg

Actor Lee Kwang-soo, Bae Seong-woo and actress Jung Yu-mi confirmed their appearance as the 3 main characters in the upcoming drama, "Live".

On the 21st, tvN station's new drama, "Live" released the cast of the main characters.

"Live" is a drama about a little stories surveilling the police station. In everyday life, the police force face many hardships and heartaches as they try to protect the valuable moral standards and justice. Normally K-dramas involving the police force were focused heavily on the cases they try to solve, but this drama will be focused on the people of the police station and a heavy sentimental value.

The three main characters will have different motives behind their job at first but as they work together, they will unite in good cause. This drama will be a human drama with stories behind the police uniforms. It is said that this drama will be a tear jerker and a healing drama for all of us who are maybe a bit exhausted from this cold society.

"Live" is directed and scripted by director Kim Kyoo-tae and the scriptwriter Noh Hee-kyeong. They created many great dramas together so far, such as, "Dear My Friends", "It's Okay, That's Love", and "That Winter, the Wind Blows". Their work is famous for being focused on the warm perspective in humanly love and many people are anticipating a high-quality drama for their new work.

photo878583.jpg

tvN is on its way to recover the modifier 'Drama Empire'. A fancy line-up of star writers are standing by from the end of the year to early next year.

tvN "Mr. Sunshine" has been arranged for broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays starting early next year.

However, it's the staff that draws more attention. Director Lee Eung-bok from "Descendants of the Sun" and "Goblin" as well as Kim Eun-sook the writer have come together again. They have been making hit dramas every once in two years.

Noh Hee-kyung’s Live recruits Shin Dong-wook as loyal policeman

by javabeans

shindongwook_49.jpg

Aww, I’m so glad to hear of Shin Dong-wook (Lookout) being more active again, after taking a number of years off to deal with complex regional pain syndrome. He made his comeback earlier this year in the action-thriller drama Lookout, and has now confirmed locking down his next role, in writer Noh Hee-kyung’s (Dear My Friends) upcoming tvN drama Live.

Live has already secured Jung Yumi (Discovery of Love) to star, as well as Lee Kwang-soo (Entourage), and centers around the incidents that arise at a regional police station. In writer Noh’s trademark style, the drama promises to provide healing moments as it focuses on the smaller moments of everyday life, showing the efforts of police officers to protect small justices and the preciousness of daily life.

Shin Dong-wook’s character is Choi Myung-ho, a police officer who lives and dies by loyalty. Formerly a soccer player, Myung-ho values loyalty and duty above promotions and results, and while he looks up to the character played by Bae Sung-woo (The King), he’ll conflict with Lee Kwang-soo.

Shin Dong-wook was out of commission for seven years because of his health—his last show before getting ill was 2010’s Wish Upon a Star—and I’d worried that he might not ever get to make a comeback. So it was a huge relief to see him taking on Lookout, where I thought he did well with a character with relatively little screentime, and it’s encouraging to see him taking on gradually more work.
