you know how important the role is simply watching the press conference or interview, the main has most questions/time. Yoon Sung = grim reader > byung yeon = deok hwa. KDY is in press conference as well as poster and others activity

So YSJ choose a smaller role in goblin than moonlight, he need less time to film. The role of YSJ in school 2015 is bigger than the role in goblin.

In a recent interview on V Live with Lee Dong Wook, who is currently starring in “Goblin” as the grim reaper, the actor answered 15 questions about himself, the show, and his character.

He started the interview with a self-introduction grim-reaper style, rattling off his stats: “Born 1981, November 6, year of the chicken, Scorpio, blood type B, not married. I don’t have a business card yet.”

1. Your secret to red lips?

“I used to wipe my lips to show people, but… they’ve just been naturally red ever since I was born.”

2. You look like Olaf?

“But his nose is a carrot! I can’t accept this.”

3. What do you do in your off time?

“I play games on my phone, sleep, eat snacks. That’s about it these days.”

4. Hobbies?

“My real hobby is to do nothing, but… watching movies by myself, listening to music… that’s it.”

“The fedora looks like a famous pizza brand logo, and Sunny is the owner of a chicken restaurant, so ‘pichi.’ It also means peach, so I like it.”

“Yes. Cleaning, laundry, dishes, cooking. If I put my mind to it I’m good at it. But… even if I do cook, I eat alone, so I don’t cook often.”

9. Something you’re looking forward to in the second half of the drama?

“Details of the grim reaper’s past life have been revealed more and more, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the various conflicts play out.”

10. Your favorite scene or line?

“People really like this one. When escorting the dead, the grim reaper says, ‘Drink the tea, it will make you lose your memories of this life.’ It’s like the grim reaper’s signature.”

11. The best impromptu scene/part?

“In the script, Sunny’s name in my phone was just supposed to be ‘Not Sun Hee, but Sunny,’ but I thought the grim reaper wouldn’t be too great at spelling, so I entered ‘No t Sun Hee, b tu S u ny’ (approximation of Korean misspelling). The director gave me the okay, and after the broadcast went out, viewers seemed to like it as well.

12. The grim reaper’s most charming aspect?

“I think the most charming part of the grim reaper is that he appears cold when he’s working, but he’s actually got a warm heart. Personally, I like the warm side of the grim reaper more. His cute charm. And Sunny calls him cute all the time, so people really like that.”

13. How’s the work as a grim reaper?

“As a job, it’s terrible pay, long hours, and I’ve just gotten a house after 300 years of saving. Help me out a little.”

14. Your thoughts on deciding to do “Goblin”?

“I thought about it a lot, and I think I made the right decision, being able to show a different side of myself to everyone.”

15. What is the grim reaper to you?

“During my acting career, there’s never been a character that I’ve particularly disliked or liked. But among those, I think the grim reaper, for many reasons, will be one that I remember for a very long time.”

I'm not actually arguing with you about the layer or significance of the role. My only point is, there are only two kinds of roles in Korea, lead and supporting. Sungjae's role falls in the main cast/lead role category. I don't care about KDY's role. Why is KDY's role even included in our discussion if it's Jinyoung's role was supposed to be Sungjae's role? LOL. My point is, whatever it is, Sungjae's role is considered a lead role. It doesn't matter if it has a smaller screentime. He's not busy right now. During the filming of Moonlight, he's busy with his group's comeback. They even released a single during that time. He rejected the role because of that since his group is his priority. But now, another acting opportunity came and he's not so busy so he accepted it.

I watched the first 30 min and saw a lot of spoilers on twitter.Woah that last scene shocked and digust me.I can't believe that guy is still around!And finally,we're going to find out who Deok Hwa really is.But I was wondering...Could these strange events like that ghost still hanging around and Deok Hwa's identity be the very things that help KS find a way to live evn after the sword is pulled out from him?Could these things somehow create anomalies?I'm so excited to find iut how this drama will continue.This is one of those dramas where you can't predict at all what will happen next.I'm going to sleep now and will watch with eng subs tomorrow.Goodnight everyone!

Yeah I understand your pov here. I felt as a young buzzing actor he wants to do different kind of roles to experiment, also this is a big drama, so the exposure is good too. Actors his age are taking parts in dramas which have a greater story concept wise like NJH [ in scarlet heart] or [ PBG did I remember you etc], and Sungjae is a better actor too. And I think moonlight would have been going back to a second lead, which he did already, so I am more glad that he took the role of DH, though it would have been great too if he did 'shopping king louis' which was all kind of awesome. Anyway sorry for the off topic rant. Bian.

What I like about him is he's not afraid to explore different kinds of roles. It's a good thing he accepted Goblin because it really suits him. :-)

I want to thank the live recappers! It was a thrill to read 20+ pages full of recaps and next epi theories. Totally scared for ET though after seeing that last scene for today's episode. I want to apologize to Secretary Kim for doubting his person. Maybe what scared me the most with this new added development later in the drama is the fact that whenever Eunuch Park flicks his eyelids open after stating something vile or ominous, it gives me goosebumps, the really creepy kind. I watched Train to Busan a week ago and the make-up department did really good with the Eunuch. He is a walking menacing ghost, more than the flesh eating zombies in the production teams latest movie. Good job, PD-Nim for scaring your viewers. Now off to watch the RAW and then with subs later tonight.

I honestly don't care if KDY's role is a lead or not. Since Sungjae's role is different. I just feel it is more significant in the story and has a more impact. Especially with his position in the promotional stills. He's placed in the center. Sometimes, those are clues, you know.

Interesting! I think you've stated a significant clue there. I am not sure the idea has been discussed or not as I have MANY pages that I still couldn't manage to catch up, but I think it makes sense that it was one of the hints he might be God. That, and also that butterfly scene at the ski resort.
