Sorry for the wrong choice of word.. Reading the second paragraph really broke my heart and made me admire her even more. A 22-year-old girl should be having fun with her life and discovering her dream and who she is, but she had to go through all the self-doubt that reached the point of hating herself. Yeah, somehow her situation (financial, etc) "forced" her to be more mature than she actually is. She must work to help her fam, forgot how to have fun like other teenagers are. She always told herself to not to playing around (based on her Healing Camp) or she would not have a place to return (Since she was often staying at the studio than her grandma & relative's house where she didn't expected to be there by her relatives since they lived with great poverty). And somehow, I understand why she felt so insecured when she was on the top, because she couldn't believe, a poor & common girl like her who just have a dream (not have any financial support, and her talent at that time still doubted by many agencies) could be a top star like now. It was all because her effort, her determination, and to be a top star, she became more restless, she was became more and more afraid to take a wrong step. She burdened to be expected create another best works. She was afraid to lost everything that she build not in one night, all her effort & sweat. I think that's why she felt so insecured at the beginning and suffer a depression. It's a lifestyle change after all. She grows to be a serious workaholic person. Added by a fact that she has A blood type. LOL. She needs a B blood type to balance her life. And we know who he is.  Kekekeke~ Here's A&B Blood Type's personality. And B just need an A to keep him on the right track. These seems perfect matched, at least for me. A knows how to be (strictly) "on the track" while B knows how to be "off the track" (have fun to relax). LOL. After all we need "on & off the track" for have a good life, right?

- Both are first-born on their family. They both support their fam financial as the oldest son/daughter, and have a lil' sister/brother that they loved.

I think IU has always being humble about herself. I think she got into depression because she thought she destroyed her career in a second (being herself the only at guilt) when she uploaded in 2012 the photo with the super junior guy ("dating scandal") gaining lots of haters in the process. And yes, probably feeling guilty for the guy also. Time proved that she never lost the fame. Before scandals she topped charts, after scandals she also topped charts. Still had the public recognition. Probably people were more crazy about her during the Good Day times, but I think that is pretty normal, it was something new and for many she had a completely angelic aura (not black and white, only white). For me the only thing that changed is that she got more or a lot of (immature) haters. Fame is still there. Don't know if she will still be topping the charts with next album, but for sure she will give good music. I trust her talent. 

My English is not good either. LOL. Maybe what @WH mean of JE's "star sickness" is a completely reverse form of "star sickness" itself. But maybe we couls said that also a "star sickness"? For JG's case,  like you quoted before, he suffered a "star sickness" that he felt superior/overly special (toward reporters) because his fame at that time. For JE's case, imo, she suffered a whole completely reversed of "star sickness" type (I dunno what I must call it) where she felt insecured, restless, low-self esteem, feel overly burdened toward her fame at that time (because she expected to make another hits), depressed and couldn't sleep well (That what's she told us when Chat-Shire released). So maybe that's what @WH mean? I think that's what I could perceived from the post. Though, maybe it was not right if we call it "star sickness" but I just want to divide it as two type extreme of "star sickness" where it could blown you away to the up or drag you away to the bottom. Since fame indeed sometimes make you feel both way, rely to your confidence level (maybe?).

 

Either way, Both have a lot of similarities that they could relate for each other, but at the same time, have some diversifications that each other need & make them completed each other. And of course make each other be a better version of themself. That's why we could call them soulmates.

I just rewatching the videos of IU's Tw concert & JG's Tw FM (it's bcs I missing them so much). And I just noticed when JG show up (rain scene re-enact) JE said something like 'oppa hug' not just 'oppa' right?

And the things that I found so funny is JE always try to repeat what translator said in mandarin during her concert&JG's fm kekeke she's so cute right oppa? I bet JG feel the same with me haha GO GET HER OPPA!!! FIGHTING!!!

i like to think that both JG and Jieun in a great place in their life right now.. Jieun in her concert admit that now she really happy and content with her life and JG really look happy lately.... for whatever reason when they found each other they kinda completed each other in so many way.. and our chingu also listed so many thing that they actually have in common... 

this is why they understand each other easily.. its because they both come from a hardship and being betray by other person.. but with each other you can totally see the real and sincere friendship since the beginning... i don't think rumor can change that cause you can see how JG look at Jieun and trust me that's really in love looks and they seem don't care about other people when they together... 

also even after the rumor thing JG seem so happy and carefree indicate that he not effected and to be honest don't care about the rumor.. and Jieun look happy hanging out with her gals after being MIA... if anything i think they choose to not let haters effected their life and just go with the flow..  

but my guts keep telling me that both of them is far from just friend with what they keep showing us and the 'coincidence' that keep happening... the proof is all there and i think even the the people at SAF award can all see that.. in the end its like an open secret between them BUT because JG side deny it so people have to shut up but we all knew better cause we seen their interaction and denying it have no effect at all.. also JG not helping his agency at all.. Lack of fresh air indeed chinggu yah. I am now desperate for scraps instead of crumbs!..I miss this two so much! I wish I have good FBI skills but they've  gone ninja mode we'll need stalker moves to get any crumbs out of these two. BUT we will try. Let me get my telescope lens to scope out that lady bag!

Jieun didn't live in apt building. But she live in a house with her parent , grandmother and her cousin..

So if someone who want to go out with her they should get her parents permission first. She a great daughter. She is a daughter who always keep her parents trust. Especially her mother.. her parents usually contacted her if she didn't go home until late night eventhough she go out with her bestie Yooinna..
