Ideal Woman

Okay so you ever wonder why as of late there has been so much discussion over his ideal woman? I really don't understand it myself because honestly as I compiled all the things I know about his ideal and in comparison to what has occurred this year, HJ is the woman that he clearly has in his mind. Let me take you down memory lane......... By the way I have a hint at the end of this post, Don't skip either... I am watching you.... 

There has been no woman that he named up until April 14. 2016. It was LNY from the start and through out countless interviews about Ideal girls that he has worked with his Ideal woman remained LNY.

For instance when he was asked in 2012 during a segment on Star King, whether he was dating F(x) Krystal who he had previously worked with during 'High Kick 3' His reaction "Me dating Krystal? My ideal Girl is Lee Na Young".

A year later (2013)  "Campus 10" magazine "I'm a fan of LNY"  

Jan 21. 2015 ~ Cafe Interview "Unstoppable rise, Actor Lee Jong Suk Possesses 'OOO'" ~ "Since my debut (2005), My ideal type has been senior LNY. Her mysterious manner of speaking is charismatic" 

An interview for Star news January 24.2015 "If I had to pick among celebrities, LNY is closest to my ideal woman, I chose her previously and she still is my ideal type" "I really like LNY distinctive talking style. its very charming"

Jan 24. 2015 Interview ~ Between PSH & LYB, who was closer to his ideal type? "My ideal type is LNY sunbae, I haven't changed (laughs) 

So with all his dramas/sitcoms/films he has starred in for example: Highkick 3, IHYV, Doctor Stranger and Pinnochio, with the many onscreen partners he had worked with you would think that maybe his ideal girl type had changed right? Not in the slightest until he met HHJ. 

Back on February 1. 2016 there were rumors about the possibility of HJ and LJS being attached to the drama 'W' but both sides confirmed that it was just talks and they haven't really had any serious discussions but HJ's agency said that she would decide on whether to take on the role once the male lead was confirmed. Now the next few things I am going to mention are quite interesting because I mapped out the dates where LJS was in Korea because he was filming for 'Jade Lover' abroad and so there were only two times where JS was in fact back in Korea. This is important because they would have had to meet prior to both of them confirming their roles which was announced March 28th. The dates where he was in Korea are February 14-18 and Mar 11-16. Also according to an interview [Singlelist] done on April 12th HJ said that she & JS already met and drank tea together while discussing 'W' which supports the meet up.  Your probably wondering okay I already know that but what I find is the absolute kicker is on......  

April 14 that Vogue Taiwan interview he did, he specifically names HJ as his Ideal type which he has not done in all the years of his debut where he would mention another woman , it was always LNY. "I like LNY very much, and also Han Hyo-Joo. This time I am very happy we can work together in "W". How can a man who has only met her once feel so strongly that he would in fact admit that HJ made such a profound first impression on him that he would put her toe to toe with LNY. That was the only time that he met with her prior to the confirmation and the Vogue interview because he was filming in China from March 17 till April 27th. Which leaves only a few days till 'W''s first script reading which occurred May 4.2016. So besides that Vogue interview he does name that HJ is also closest to his ideal type during the section interview on June 6. 2016. The question was Is she similar to your ideal type in reality? his answer was "Yes, I really think it's similar" [Observe his demeanour he was very serious about it where I believe HJ thought he was joking around hence her response right after]

Sept 10 Seoul FM ~ "Ever since LNY sunbae got married, I've lost direction"......"She has to be intelligent, then as I am a person who worry (TN: or stress) a lot, so even if she wouldnt be able to solve my problem, hopefully she can give me direction, like a mom or elder sister, a mature, calm girl" 

Sept 27 Japan FM ~ "My ideal type changes every year" *Truth ~ It does not! 

Oct 22 Taiwan FM ~ "Oval face, big watery gentle eyes, sexy lips and shoulder length curvy hair" 

Now it's amusing that we have discussed this countless times during the filming of 'W' that he is addicted to staring at her and he has kissed her more times than he has kissed his previous co-stars, and lastly he was essentially infatuated with caressing her hair through out filming, by the way I have over a couple dozen times he has done so. [insert gif now] So honestly baring in mind only his description imo there is only one woman where that inspiration could have come from.

This is the part I left out because its actually quite important. To me the reason why he has become so abstract about his responses at this point in his life about his ideal type which we know prior to meeting HJ he has always remained faithful to the one and only LNY is this .............. 

In his Jan 21, 2015 cafe interview titled "Unstoppable rise, Actor Lee Jong Suk Possesses 'OOO'" he was quoted in saying this "But having said so much about senior Lee Na -Young, my future girlfriend may not be happy, so in future I have to be more abstract about my ideal type (laughs)

@bellalizzie You know his interview with Dazed is in a different post I have yet to actually type out, its somewhere in my thoughts, To me that Q & A it really doesn't fit with the flow of that particular post, and the message because what I am trying to convey is  pretty much clear cut analysis of his ideal type, where as their interview is a more meaningful influence in a more emotional aspect. I hope you understand. I would if I totally thought it would fit. Sorry

I saw him holding and not letting go Lee Bo Young hands too in an interview, just like he did with HJ... He also sang a song in his BTS with PSH... I hope after he met HJ, he doesn't do flirty2 things again with another girl... T-T

@tikhagahara I wouldnt say its flirty behavior its more like he naturally does skinship. Also he doesnt always do skinship with his onscreen partners just so you know. He explains numerous times that "Skinship is just something natural to me" but I will say this, he does know his limits so it depends on whether hes comfortable with that person, same age and whether they are affectionate to him as well. He finds sunbae's intimidating but since he always viewed HJ as a same age friend they were able to become close. In my opinion

I wanted to mention, I know we miss the two of them together but look on the bright side! I'm glad that at least one of them is taking some much needed time off because for:

1) HJ deserves some time off, I feel like both of them did a switcharoo. Since JS usually takes a mini-break after a drama ends but this time he decided not too. Although we have to consider he took a whole year off and I am sure he knows it as well, he had some makeup to do and he definitely expressed how much he wants to work like an elephant this year

2) If both of them are so busy so soon into a relationship then it becomes extremely difficult for couples to really strengthen their bond. So, I consider HJ's lack of updates a good sign not that she needed to be the one to cater to him but at the same time it worked out since she felt she really deserved it since it almost being her 12th year in the entertainment business. She's going to take it day by day and let the rest of her year unfold as it should which I couldn't agree with her more.

Things happen for a reason and I love her mentality that finally she could take a deep breath and cherish the moments that you would have just let pass if one was simply working too much.

I hope she is happy and knowing she couldn't bear to leave the "staff=JS" and still hasn't lol ~ makes me confident she is doing what is right for her.

Lets continue to support JS & HJ despite the lack of updates from her and lots of updates from him. To me it's been a wonderful surprise to see his mood do a complete 180 from last year due to his IG updates, his positive outlook and his new projects. Hooray! and wherever HJ is and whatever she is doing, I am sure HJ knows her old and new fans miss her tons. She will be back and she will come back with a bang! I am sure that both of them will continue to support one another no matter how busy each get whether thats now or in the future. You don't meet your ideal girl and let her go that easily, that confidence is a reflection of how happy he is in all aspects of his life. You don't meet a man like JS and let him go, who undoubtedly has shown how much she truly means to him.

When he added HHJ as one of his ideals before W started, I kinda thought that this could probably be something to stir interest in W, even though he has never done so with any other co-star in his career, prior to W.   He did say during IHYV, that he admired LBY, a sunbae, who was about to be married at that point, but never an "ideal woman".    

And then the BTS of W came out little by little and the skeptic in me dissipated.   All the skinship...holding by the waist, the countless times he touched her hair, the number of times he was staring.   And as for HHJ, she never discouraged him.   She did not lift a brow, crunch her forehead,  or displayed any other conscious behavior  and was as natural as can be.  

That prison kiss seemed to be better than whatever was scripted, imo, and could have cemented the fact that their attraction was mutual,  as they both had physical reactions right after, he said Hot, removed his coat, she ran out.

But for me, the kisses and hugs in the final scene seemed more real than at any other time in W.     In the final BTS it was  her turn to be emotional,  telling him not to leave; he felt it, I am positive, wiping her tears with his bare hands, pulling her to him, and lacing fingers in the final group shot.   It was so real, it was beautiful to see.  

In the photoshoot for W (where she was in a pale blue dress).  there was a fluidity in their movements that does not only come from their experience in photoshoots.  It emanated from HJ being in a happy mood,  which made it easy for him to be likewise in a good mood,  and do that remarkable shoot. 

Between the W shoot and that of Dazed, maybe it is the concept of option 4 that the mag was aiming for I don't really know,    Despite being thickly clothed,  with only head and hands showing,  their chemistry was sizzling and the accompanying BTS provided a number of exclamation points!!    Granted,  maybe the direction of the photographer included light kissing of her cheek but these two more than nailed it, many times over.    

Caressing  her hands and both their eyes closing?  I highly doubt it was instructed, no way.   A girl who isn't interested will never let her hand be caressed right by his chest close to his heart,  but she closed her eyes instead.   They  were in an intimate moment which Daze showed for a precious 1-2 seconds. We freeze that moment of time in our gadgets and our hearts, a reminder of why we are all in here together.

Now, we are more than certain  that he is absolutely smitten.  While  she had been more reserved,  not staring and kissing in a mag made for the public,   she is accepting of all the advances,  all that closeness, thus the sensuality of it all.     

Hugs, kisses on his NYOB shirt, xxxooo.    Add the line. I want you, on the sketchpad.    Period.

I totally agree with your insightful post, and I still don’t get why we need to rehash JS’s ideal type thing over and over again.

I’m not a kind of person who is delusional and easily swayed by something. As I need to admit that I’m old for shipping a drama couple (I never knew there are a lot of people who want their favorite co-stars to be real, and they are so-called, shippers), I hesitated to join this thread first even if I have had a gut feeling that their relationship has gone further and gotten serious by merely watching all BTSs.

As we have watched and observed the way they treat each other, we don’t have to doubt their genuine relationship. Since I’m a newbie here, may I share my favorite moments of our dear couple, which made me become an obsessive shipper?!  

Ice cream BTS  

HJ starts poking JS’s thigh -> JS adamantly says to her, “don’t do that!” -> HJ keeps poking JS’s thigh -> JS seems uncomfortable and darts his eyes around as if he is being afraid that their relationship might be caught by anyone   -> HJ keeps making the most adorable facial expression like a crying baby. -> JS cannot help but give in her cuteness and caress her bangs, gently saying “why are you doing this behavior here?!” (I’m so sure about this since there is no caption of JS’s words on the BTS, so I kept watching this part over and over again to catch what JS says to HJ.)

Restaurant BTS

Before shooting, our dear couple is given time to dig in their spaghettis. -> However, our dear JS endearingly and intensely stares at our dear HJ for more than 5 sec while HJ is eating spaghetti with animated and cute facial expression. (Action speaks louder than words)

As you know, there are a bunch of memorable and undeniable moments of our JONGJOO caught on other BTSs, but I just want to do a throwback of my favorites.

@lovely_skham love your posting as usuall captain. Yes, i agree with you. I don't really know about JS since i new to to his fanbased only after P drama. And one thing for me, i never heard before, HJ meet and talk with possible co actor before She accepting role in drama/movie. as i know, usually she only asking about who is her co actor ..but meeting her co actor ? Never heard before.

I'm skipping time watching old RM episodes when I came across LJS episode. Since we are on the topic of his ideal woman, this made me grin. His answer maybe related to the game (the episode is that he has a secret admirer and is asked that question below:)

I dunno if he was describing any of the members but like what I said sometimes we all tend to unconsciously describe our REAL ideal type.

I can just dream on, but yeah our HHJ has a pretty neck I mean to the point noticed her blood vessels and she can be aggressive  (well she was sort of competitive in the RM show and funny) well not really obsessive but yes she can be the type to care and love you LJS. 

Plus Ji Hyo was his partner in the this episode, a noona. Talk about a preordained future.

HHJ is our woman, it has been this woman that has finally moved his heart 

About your hint its funny how he never changed his ideal type before it was always same but now he is changing his statement in every FM but it all kinda directing to a special someone

One thing I would also like to say that LJS has done many photoshoots and interviews after or during the W but not many have HHJ name included in them.Since he can choose questions he like to answer I think he doesn't want to put HHJ or their relationship in the spot light. I have been following another drama and seen their bts too while its all cute and friendly the intensity of their touches and stares are still they are nowhere close to JONGJOO. They all have been asked numerous time about their co-stars and they all brag how close they are and how they supported each other in the sets. While JONGJOO have very few interviews where they talked briefly about each other(without DAZED of course) when in actual they the one are who HAVE SHOWN THE MOST CLOSEST RELATIONSHIP IN THE SET

Sorry about the caps i got excited. While I am missing her so much I have no problem with HHJ taking her must needed rest after W its better that way than with both of them being super busy like LJS
