I don't really care. *giggles* All I know it will be Lee Yeong's idea... he is a little rascal. He will most likely say "Ra On Ah~~ I can't sleep. You have to stay by my side and tell me a story."

I am thinking it's Lee Yeong's idea too.....so it's the lullaby thingy again....but this time with her lying down as well... hmm... :sweatingbullets::P:w00t:  Is this an inching-in step-by-step strategy of LY's increasing the tension....until RO has to surrender.... ooohhhhhh

Everything is getting interesting..

Omo...omo...I have long been waiting for another scene between these 3 puppies  It is quite nostalgic actually that the last time they have dinner together was during episode 2 where everything is less complicated and their friendship was just starting to grow

Edit: I was assuming that that scene was not a dramatic scene haha I really hope that it was not or maybe RO and CP are breaking the obvious news to BY that they are already dating hehe

I know it's been a while since all three shared a scene together.  I would love it if YS crashes on their drinking session.  So whatever episode they're filming, it means RO has not been caught yet and is still living as a eunuch.

I hate articles like these that don't check everything.  It sucks that YJ's brilliant performance is being overshadowed by this issue.  It's easy to target YJ and MDBC because it's so popular right now.  Sadly even though the article is negative, the show gets free publicity from it.

Exactly!! I was LOLing the entire time I was reading the article.. Did the writer even watch the show??

"steamy scenes" ????. ..she must have had inside access to some edited scenes..IF so pls  share them with us..We are DYING for those scenes since episode 1 B)

The only thing that i would even find MILDLY suggestive is the chest binding scene and that was only cos KYJ is curvy..and it was needed for the drama to show how she has to lead her life disguised as a boy..

She sounds like a 14 year old or a halmoni from the victorian era LOLZZ..but i agree any publicity is good publicity..I Hope the writers and PD-nim will not be influenced by these baseless articles!!

Yes, My Paper is the only one that reports regularly on the rating and popularity of the drama, though articles are from overseas. Now only left with The New Paper who has not written anything about it.  Have to keep an eye on this one, they can be just as bad as the Straits Times.

My female colleagues(5 of them) watched with me every Tuesday & Wednesday with English/Chinese subtitles.  We will buy lunches back to office and watch it in the pantry.  All of them like this drama and some of us will watch re-run of the drama on KBSWorld.  (note: only 2 of us are k-drama fans but the rest are so into this drama this time.  They have never been so on about k-dramas in the past).

P.S. KBSWorld is showing the rerun of episode 12 now, but i'm not sure if i remembered wrongly or my eyes is playing tricks on me.  Wasn't the couple bracelet for CP supposed to be blue color?  I thought i saw it as green on episode 12...

It is blue .. may be is the sunlight ..  My colleague already downloaded all episode , she doesn't want to follow live as she said she is sure couldn't resist it to finish watching .  I pity the young actors n actress , they need an opportunity to change , so as viewers , we should support them rather criticized.

I think this drama is not following the history nor the web novel closely. So the marriage and RO leaving the palace might not happen at all(even though some moonlighters have pointed out that their character introduction called HY crown princess). Rather RO might have told her mum that she will leave only if CP said so. Even if there is a marriage, i felt that it might happen only in the last 2-3episodes.

Yup as much as I want Raon to be by Yeong's side, I just want her to quickly leave the palace so that she could actually start to live as herself again together with her mum and not have to still be under the pretense of being Samnom, the palace's eunuch and be in constant danger of being discovered. I want her to be able to start wearing those pretty hanboks she have been longing to wear. She needs to stop wearing that green eunuch garb already. XD

Still wondering when the royal wedding is gonna happen though. Hayeon will be the crown princess seeing as the main poster and introduction of her, she was wearing the royal crown princess attire. So I guess it will definitely happen but as of now it's quite ambiguous when that will actually happen. But for some strange reason I don't see it happening? lol. But that could be because my brain is telling that there's only 6 episodes left and I just cant compute how they are going to fit everything. lol

But of course they might just surprise me. It's not just once or twice that I've been surprised while watching this drama after all. It manages to surprise me pretty much every week. Every single time. Haha

this one is yoonsung cut

The discussion was on what position in the court is Jinyoung's character, Yoonseong, holding onto since he is always so busy running off to work.

Yoonseong is believed to be a Jeongrang (정랑), a senior fifth rank Minister leading the Minister of Rites. In modern day term, it would be something like Ministry of Foreigns and Education. The person also added that to get to that rank, Yoonseong has to be very clever and studied alot.

Referring to the latest filming pic...Ra On is still in the palace...sigh...me think Ra On leaving the palace is way overdue

I'm a bit concerned about this too. Given what happens in the next ep it would be near impossible for her to be in the palace after she is found out... unless the boys come up with something like making sure the PM gets the wrong info. In the last ep when YS was about to write something someone suggested he could be re-writing the note that was supposed to go to PM's cronies or underlings. I think this could be it. YS might set it up so that he implicates some other woman...I hope its someone who doesn't exist so that some innocent girl doesn't get dragged in. So PM gives the King the wrong info (preview bit where he goes: "so this is the daughter?") and they start hunting for a girl who doesn't exist.

Re the pic since the preview is out we know its not Monday's episode, but it could be from Tuesday's episode because they have got to the live shoot stage now. I don't know if they shoot scenes out of order in kdramas. And with CP in his official attire it cannot be outside the palace. This must be their usual eating spot outside RO and BY's quarters.

There was an article in Singapore English newspaper today about teen actresses doing the scenes of adult nature(eg. skinship, kissing scenes, etc).  Moonlight drawn by clouds and Kim Yoo Jung was mentioned in the article. The heading said viewers are divided, but from the people they have interviewed, none of them said they are uncomfortable with it.  In fact, the viewers are so rational that they mentioned about k-pop female idols showing more skin in music shows, so they can accept KYJ acting in kissing scenes. Initially, i was a bit angry, because Kim So Hyun who acted in a tvn drama has more kissing scenes than KYJ and they are the same age. Secondly, Kim So Hyun is in Singapore presently, so i was puzzled why are they targetting at Kim Yoo Jung instead.  On second thoughts, it shows that this drama is daebak, popular and good, it will attract readers' attention instead.

Straits Times, 1st October 2016

 Gwendolyn Ng

Teen actresses: Where's the line?

Is it appropriate for a 17-year-old actor to be doing scenes of an adult nature? Viewers are divided

ST_20161001_TEENMONY_2634635.jpg?itok=Wz

South Korean actress Kim Yoo Jung, who is currently seen in popular ongoing period drama Love In The Moonlight, has had a number of steamy scenes in the show. The thing is, she is only 17.

And this has caused some South Korean viewers to be outraged at what they saw as exploitation of a young star.

Although Kim has been acting for more than a decade, this is her first romantic lead role. She plays an 18-year-old who cross-dresses as a eunuch to serve the crown prince, only to fall in love with him.

In the show, she romances and kisses her older co-star Park Bo Gum, 23. She is also seen binding her chest with cloth.

Despite what South Korean audiences feel, viewers in Singapore whom The Straits Times spoke to do not have issues with Kim's scenes. The show airs in Singapore on streaming site Viu and KBS World (StarHub TV Channel 815).

Secondary school student Chan Yan Yu, 16, says: "Her age does not matter if she does not have a problem with the scenes and she fits the role and plays it well."

Ms Lydia Lee, 26, a quality assurance specialist, says: "Perhaps some people are uncomfortable because it is not common for young actors to play the romantic lead in Korea. Kim Yoo Jung definitely looks older than her age. If you do not know her age, you will not be uncomfortable."

She points out that K-pop idols about Kim's age show even more skin while teen actresses in the West also act out explicit sex scenes.

American actress Brooke Shields, now 51, caused an uproar when, at the age of 12, she played a child prostitute in the American historical drama Pretty Baby (1978). At 14, she continued her nude streak as a shipwrecked teen in the coming-of-age flick The Blue Lagoon (1980).

Hongik University assistant professor Lee Soo Jin says only a small section of South Korean TV viewers objected to Love In The Moonlight.

The Seoul-based liberal arts professor tells The Straits Times in an e-mail: "This is kind of similar to K-pop girl group members - teenage girls who enter the adult business world and begin training at a very early age and perform suggestive choreography while wearing sexy clothes.

"Nowadays, people do not criticise that as much as they used to 10 years ago. Perhaps people have become comfortable with teenage girls doing adult things. Or people have come to acknowledge teenage performers' professionalism."

Young actors, too, think that it is okay to do whatever the script requires - such as intimate scenes - as long as it is in the name of work.

**skip the rest of the article which are not related to MDBC**

Sorry chocolatepie, your response to this news article amuses me.   I think it's the Moonday wait syndrome.  I feel the tension too and what you have done brought amusement to me.  With all due respect to your passion of the drama, I have to shed some light on what you have posted is not doing justice to the media and it caused a ballistic effect of negative comments thereafter.  I apologise upfront to you if it causes you any distress but this is a SERIOUS MATTER.

Your pent-up frustration will basically allow every small thing said about MDBC to trigger some angst built-up..  I understand you perfectly because I am in the same boat....I feel touchy at times when people talk to me... haha....   But the only difference is I keep my tension in check.  I feel the need to speak up because your one wrongly-interpreted post drew all your fellow people out to hammer your own media.... wow...     You should know better people do not read DETAILS especially when this thread runs so fast so they would just take your word for it and are you not doing exactly what you claim Straits Times to be doing and even worse with a misinterpretation?

Frankly, this headline style is not even unique to Straits Times....and certainly not uniquely written to target at Kim Yoo Jung down.  Kim Yoo Jung has not reached that level of fame yet for them to think that it can cause a dent in her reputation....but the North Korean Kim has and anything wrongly said may land a missile ...so you have to note the difference.    Let me explain, the headlines have 2 purposes...

(a) It got you to read the entire article right?  That's what journalists are supposed to do else they don't make a living........... provoke thoughts in you whether you are a fan or not by making words not so specific to steer you to read, thinking that reading the details would help you see the light, plus this is entertainment section, not a MUST-READ section...so all the more they have to find a way to make people read.  Unfortunately in your case, your fumes went up in smoke in your eyes after the headlines.

(b) Viewers are divided IS ABSOLUTELY FACTUALLY CORRECT!!  Did it state the viewers are in Singapore alone?  No, you ASSUMED.  Viewers include the South Korean viewers.  They are the nay-sayers(due to the chest binding fiasco) but after interviewing the Singapore's community which is a slightly more diverse and open society due to its multi-cultural nature, the viewers gave more open minded and open-ended kind of response.  The fact you OMITTED the rest of the article is also not doing justice to the entire flavour of the article as well, with a MISINTERPRETATION.

This is what the article has done:

They also quoted the South Korean professor to show that the views are also not uniform in South Korea itself to give balance to the article.

They gave example of a 20 year old who enacted a rape scene in a drama in Singapore and the actress wanted to do it

They shared the guidelines of what Mediacorp would do for their young talent

They even managed to get producers and directors to share if a double is required, that is a possible solution

They ended saying most importantly for a young talent, both the parents and young talent must feel comfortable to proceed.

I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT ALL-ROUNDED AND WELL-BALANCED ARTICLE TO SHARE WHAT GOES ON IN EVERYONE'S MINDS AND A POSSIBLE SOLUTION........why flake them and think they are hypocrites? :grimace:  That media is not Paparazzi-calibre...not very wise to make them into one.  Also, by the time one reaches the end of the article, no one remembers the article has any focus on Kim Yoo Jung....seriously...not a trace but at least interested to turn to the channel to view MDBC.... out of curiosity now.

Please allow me to quote the full article and highlight the areas they try to shed light per the points I mentioned above.

Young actors, too, think that it is okay to do whatever the script requires - such as intimate scenes - as long as it is in the name of work.

Home-grown actress Carrie Wong was 20 when she was asked to act a rape scene in Mediacorp Channel 8's period drama The Journey: Tumultuous Times (2014).

Her character, feisty dessert hawker Tang Shui Mei, was caught in a feud between rival gangsters and was sacrificed. Tang agreed to do the scene because she felt it was vital to the plot.

"My parents didn't say anything about the scene. It's just acting. I love acting and I would love to try new things and challenge myself. I do not have any no-go areas and I do think that I am quite bold," says Wong, now 22.

Her convincing act as the ill-fated Tang earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at last year's Star Awards.

Mediacorp says it takes extra precaution when working with teen actors. Its young Channel 5 and 8 stars will not find vulgarities in their scripts, for example, and intimate scenes are kept to a minimum.

Producers and directors, too, ensure actors are comfortable with a scene before going ahead with filming and, if required, a body double may stand in for the young actor.

Home-grown film director Jack Neo, who often uses teen actors in his movies, says the key is to keep the young talents and their parents informed of exactly what is required of a role.

For his movie We Not Naughty (2012), a scene required an actress, then 16, to shave off her hair.

Neo, 56, says: "Besides discussing issues with her parents, I made it a point to talk to the actress. If she had the slightest doubt, we would not have gone ahead."

• Love In The Moonlight airs on streaming site Viu (www.viu.com). It also airs on KBS World (StarHub TV Channel 815) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at 8.50pm.

Now I need to relieve the MOONDAY wait by spazzing on the lovebirds scenes and my new-found respect in YS.

Yup thought the same thing too with everything that you said. It is amazing how this drama's storyline has been done so many times and we even have a novel to refer to yet what is going to happen each week is so unpredictable. Everything that we thought was going to happen didnt and something else happened.

Maybe that's what we should do now. Think of the most predictable thing that is going to happen...and then...think the opposite (cos the opposite of what we normally think usually becomes the storyline lol). Like..so we think ra on will leave the palace...(the opposite will probably happen...she will not leave the palace at all!) We think that CP and Ra On will leave outside the palace? (The opposite: no they will stay in the palace. No not as concubine...but as husband and wife lol). We think Ra On will probably never ever get to wear a hanbok anymore (the opposite: she will wear itnall the time from now on). We think there will be a bed scene? (The opposite: there will be none) we think there wouldnt be a steamy scene because KYJ is a minor (the opposite:. .......there will be one damn steamy scene!) LOL

Ok this entry of mine is so full of BS
