This is truly the only drama that I have looked forward too every week. The only drama that has ever inspired me to sign up on a forum because I NEEDED to discuss, to read discussions, to be exposed to more of the drama. This is the only drama that I've found worth analyzing because it is thought provoking. Usually when a drama is 15 episodes or more, I can't commit to watching it because 1. It's too damn long, 2. It's too damn boring, 3. The actors/actresses ends up annoying me somehow, 4. The plot became seriously silly and stupid, 5. It has fillers that I don't feel is relevant to the story. I tried watching DOTS; dropped it half way (and I love Joong Ki and Hye Kyo) because I couldn't stand the acting and story line. I've tried watching many others and just didn't feel it was worth my time. But Moon Lovers is like an addiction. I think, breathe, and seemed to be living for this drama. My life has been on hold since I've started watching it. I feel that this drama can have another 80 episodes and I wouldn't be bored with it. I wish we can give Moon Lovers an International Award for most beloved drama ever. It may well get an international award. Joseon Gunman won a best TV mini-series at the Worldfest-Houston Texas International Film Festival. ML have been plagued with problems post production, just bad luck and bad timing on SBS part not to mention the dreaded editing and some of the inappropriate music which makes or breaks a show (in ML's case it broke it ). I had high hopes for this drama but I was already anxious when they started announcing more and more idols for the show and K-pop musicians. The drama then became more of a marketing vehicle for new talent rather than an epic story It would have been okay if they had a longer drama then everyone gets more time for character development because the idol actors were surprisingly okay, they definitely showed improvement in later scenes. Oh well, spilt milk. I hope LJG will at least take advantage of his increase in popularity to pick a good drama for himself soon. Strike while the iron is hot !
Popular Post moonangelcake
Hi everyone! Been a silent lurker since hmm... episode 10? (Yeah, pretty late but better late than never?) I'm new to soompi and also new to the kdrama world. Really, MLSHR is my first kdrama and... Whoa, this drama has REALLY blown my mind. When I first started watching this, I knew VERY LITTLE about it, the only piece information I had: "it's about a girl who dies and comes back to life." I didn't bother searching up trailers, I just went straight into watching it! I had low expectations when I started watching it (perhaps that's why I didn't mind the editing problems and other flaws people mention). The first few episodes were interesting but by episode 4, I was full on hooked!! Continued watching it, hearing from friends that it's intense and emotional, so I prepared myself for it. BUT NOPE, I was still not prepared to endure the emotional and intense moments, ESPECIALLY Episode 11 and onwards. Apart from the storyline itself, I applaud all the actors/actresses, especially the main leads, LJG and IU! Some people think that IU is bad at acting but in my opinion, I think she portrays Hae Soo perfectly. As for LJG/Wang So, pfft do I need to say any more? It's indeed sad that this drama is not doing really well in South Korea :/ but despite the low numbers, I still think it's a success (just look at this thread and how the drama is doing internationally)! Maybe the drama is not getting a lot support in SK but hey, it sure has a LOT of support and fans all across the world, and I think that's what matters more Anyway, because of this ONE drama, I've became more crazy! It's all because of this drama: I realised that I was an emotional masochist (the emotional moments are hard to endure... yet I stay in this drama!) Lurking through this forum thread became a daily habit I signed up for soompi My browser history is FILLED with MLSHR related stuff I listen to the OSTs at least once every day I started writing fanfiction (and I lurk around in FF and that other website) and a lot more! Gosh, I've fell heads-over-heel for this drama and the OTP. I always talk about ships but boy, the OTP in this drama... I swear, never in my life have I ever emotionally invested so much in a ship! Now that I think about it... I'm going to feel so empty once the drama ends T^T (doesn't mean I'll leave the fandom though, I think I'll stay in the fandom and lurk in this thread and continue with fanfics... hehe).
Popular Post MezzJowdie
I was a shipper of the other sageuk drama and dropped it completely half way because it was not brain stimulating enough for me, it became too predictable. I just want to put it out there that despite the flaws that MLSHR has (edits and all others)what made me watch, stalk, analyze this drama because the drama is brain stimulating/ it keeps everybody's mood at (curious) which is ideal by the way. I love sageuks, i love history, but i have never in my entire 6 years of kdrama shipping have i ever dedicated so much time, emotion, research for a sageuk drama. That being said ratings as much as i know how important they are in a business standpoint, I maybe bias but this is my own personal opinion: I ignore the numbers when i see a good story, quality acting, and brain stimulating drama. Concentrating on those would kill the fun and appreciation of something u like/love. ***I do hope LJG is lurking in this thread, the incredible support and love by his international fans is amazing.

Seems he is both-handed which is quite amazing! Maybe he can even write like the professor in the Bollywood well-known film ''3 Idiots'', LOL I sometimes wonder whether he is an alien. I find him as a really interesting person with many diverse talents <3 He is ambidextrous. 0:09 to 0:19

See the vote? the highest vote here is Baekhyun (16128). I don't hate Baekhyun but I think we agree pretty much that his acting as WE is still lacking. He tried his best but I'd say he still has many things to work up. Is he a better actor compared with the "in" more experienced actor like LJG, SJK, and PBG? No. But if the vote goes on like this, in the end Baekhyun will win the Asian award as best actor for his role as WE The reality is like that. Fans vote for the actor category but they don't vote it based on one's talent and hardwork as an actor (do they even care?) They do it because they love their idol and that love overshadows the idol's talent and hardwork. It's good for their idol but by doing so, the real talented and hardworking actors suffer. I believe this is the first asiaartistawards so they should tweek it and only post nominations or at least have some criteria for being included in a category otherwise you might as well call this the asiapopularityawards.

Popular Post shiraru
Kang Hanna's Instagram update with Z.Hera. I think Z.Hera is doing the dog snapchat filter with every cast, but not all of them are posted...yet, hahahaha And oooooh, if this is true, then Lee Joon Gi is so cute~ I love MLSHR casts relationships, they seem to have a strong bond, maybe because the filming took longer than usual dramas? I heard MLSHR was shot in the span of 6 months, while other drama (pre-produced or not) could be shot in 2 or 3 months in average. Bonus! A Pink Eunji is talking about Moon Lovers again in a radio show

I know that I could have mentioned even more than that. He is so manipulative and hides behind his gentle manners that's why he is so scary and dangerous. He has always used people to get his results done and he is still doing it: - Lady Hae: behind his gentleness, he was coldhearted. He made her hope that he would love her back at some point. He used lady Hae's death to get even closer to Hae Soo, well aware that she had given her approval before her death. - Yeon Hwa - Lady Oh - Won - Chae Ryun Now, he is preparing to become the next king before So. He acted as if he was concerned (asked for a doctor), yet he left with Jung to get the support of Yo's uncle. It's interesting to look back now at all those scenes and view Uk in quite a different light now that we know what we know about him. But he really is the worst with that Won fellow not all that far behind. (Won used to be just a weasel but now he's a slimy, malicious weasel. Immensely slappable and kickable. Kickable from here to the dark side of the moon) Although he's been keeping quite a low profile of late, I think Uk will be remembered when all is said and done as someone who had the worst case of self-justifying BS in the entire show. I can't get over that flashback scene where he tells his mother and sister that the only thing he ever wanted was HS but everyone and everything stood in his way. The gall of the man... I had to roll my eyes. If that were the case, he had several opportunities to "have" Su and he blew his chances. But the worst part of that entire scene is that whiny underlying "I'm-a-victim-in-all-this" mantra. As long as he sees himself as purely a victim licking his wounds he will never see his own culpability in any of the black deeds he's been involved in since he conspired with No. 3. He was even blaming his mother for putting excessive burdens on him by teaching him to live an upright life! He is all twisted up inside now. At least he knows he that gone past the point of no return. He is a pitiful creature. Pitiful in that he is blind to his lack of self-awareness but not pitiful in that he had no choices. He had them... but he chose not to take them up until it was too late. Then he had to do it in a way that would gradually darken the image that he had so carefully presented to the world. I suppose we can always find some way to pity all these people... including the villains. But I maintain that these people had choices. They weren't complete prisoners of their circumstances. Undoubtedly Yo and So were products of upbringing and environment but they each made choices that led to where they are now. For Yo, the perfect, unblemished son... his mother whispered in his ears and maybe he really just wanted to earn brownie points with mummy in the beginning. But he still made his choice to usurp the throne from his older brother over and over again and to kill his own younger brother. The thing I feel about Eun... maybe an unpopular opinion... is that he squandered those 3 years with Seon Deok. Yes he died bravely and nobly but why did he wait so long before being open about how he felt? More than the death of two young innocents, it was the mourning of opportunities lost. I suspect that there's a tale of holding on to what's in front of you in there somewhere. If only he had made that choice to love his wife without all that bluster and bravado much, much earlier. Su and So... may have been a little foolish (at least that's what I've heard)... Su especially throwing caution to the wind but I think it only served to show how much they were longing for each other and they couldn't deny their love for one another even with Big Brother hovering over their shoulders. But it was a choice too. A choice to go against "good sense" maybe but more likely a defiant choice against all the forces that would serve to keep them apart. Everything was against them. Circumstances, the King, his new goal to become king. But in the end they did choose each other... consequences be damned.
