Just look, this is the list of the past winner and in the last 6 years all the dramas the winners stared passed the 20% ratings mark. Popular Post kdramawriter
Ugh this show makes me write so much. I KNOW it's my name, but sheesh. Here's some meta on Hae Su because I love our girl. Quoted comments are from Dramabeans ON HAE SU BEING THE HERO 76.4 pogo October 19th, 2016 at 6:24 AM It’s like a kdrama thing, to indicate that your heroine is “strong” and “plucky” by having them work a million part-time jobs (if they’re in a modern drama), cross-dress (if they’re in a sageuk), or beat a few people up/have some knowledge of martial arts (either modern or sageuk). Of course, this has no bearing on whether the character is actually strong or not, and will usually result in the heroine going to pieces and being a damsel in distress pretty early on in the game. I have to give this drama this much, at least they never tried to paint Su as being competent or knowledgeable on how to survive in Goryeo. She can mix cosmetics and identify constellations and a few skin problems, but that’s about it – her future knowledge doesn’t give her any advantages. We had a fish out of water here, and she’s adapted to her circumstances – it would have annoyed me far, far more if Su was presented as ‘strong’ when she’s not. I kind of prefer that they just went with all the weaknesses that being a fish out of water leaves her with. I do think Hae Su is a unique heroine model to follow for a drama because she’s not as action oriented as many of the traditional models. In Joseph Campbell’s theory of the hero’s journey: the hero answers the call to adventures, defeats great odds, and then ends the journey when he/she is irrevocably changed. In this context, Hae Su has followed this model however loosely. And while her actions are not considered “strong choices” her emotional arc is extremely well done. And it’s her emotional journey through Goryeo that successfully changes a potential tyrant (Wang So) into a successful monarch. She will end this journey irrevocably changed, as a heroine who understands the price of power and love. And to me, that’s still a great journey to follow. ON HAE SU ALMOST SUCCEEDING WITH HER EUN RESCUE PLAN 47.2.1.1 Fanngy October 19th, 2016 at 6:48 AM Also I do realise that I am harping on this but it’s only because it really bothered me when I was watching the previous episode: I really don’t think Soo’s decision to not tell So contributed to Eun and Soon Deok ‘s death at all. I think they would have died anyway, whatever she did. They had the perfect plan and perfect escape route. If she had told So that night it is likely he wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. They couldn’t move up the schedule to move them away from the palace because the 5 boats were only scheduled to leave then. They were safe in Damiwon, and even had So knew, he wouldn’t have been able to foresee YH finding out and selling out her younger brother Likely the only thing that would change is that he would have been there to escorts them out and when the soldiers poured in he could have fought along earlier with Soon Deok and Eun but they were already going to be outnumbered and as good a fighter So is he alone cannot fight off a whole army. Especially with Yo’s archery skills. The outcome would likely be a slightly longer fight, but would end with Eun pierced by Yo’s arrows and him requesting So to kill him so he is able to join his wife. You cannot escape fate I still think after all he had done and proved himself over and over, Soo should have trusted him and told him the truth. She misjudged and inadvertently revealed the fact that she does not quite trust him yet which is tremendously unfair and hurtful to So. BUT. It is important to note that telling So would not have prevented Eun’s death, no matter how hard they would have tried. I COMPLETELY agree with this DB reader: Fanngy. While everyone else seemed to be so angry with Hae Su for not revealing Eun’s whereabouts to So, I truly believe that her plan was a perfectly feasible plan. Audience member who dislike her choice dislike the fact that it reveals that she doesn’t fully trust So. But because Wang So did not initially reveal that he was hunting Eun and Hae Su knew that he was, this introduced doubt into their relationship. Of course, if she had succeeded, then she would have prevented the very thing that drive her and Wang So apart for two years. If we take this purview, then we see Hae Su also desperately trying to preserve the most important relationship in her life. Because her plan failed, Eun's death drove a wedge between Hae Su and Wang So which COULD HAVE BEEN avoided by her explaining her plan to him. However, even if WS knew about HS plans, there's no reason that Eun and SD would have escaped successfully BECAUSE the chaos factor is Yeon Hwa. She was the person to thwarted both HS and WS. Again and again, Hae Su has acted in the interest of saving her friends, using all of her resources and abilities, and I really can’t find fault with those actions. We had speculated in EP 15 that Hae Su hid Eun & SD to prevent WS from killing them, but ALSO to prevent him for having to do something he regrets. In Ep 16, we dialogue which CONFIRMS THIS. In the scene when Hae Su explains to Wang So that she hid Eun because she also worried that he would have to do something he regret. I was so happy to see those lines being spoke because it really confirmed to me that HS had examined the situation and found the best of the worst options. At the last minute, she decided to heed SD’s advice and tell WS, but alas it was too late. That’s not something I’m willing to fault her on. THE IMPORTANCE OF HAE SU'S HANDWRITING Knowing the importance of Hae Su’s handwriting (i.e. it’s similarities to his) and the fact that Wang So DID NOT open the letter from her, is this going to come back and bite us in the richard simmons after HS’s presumed death when she writes the letter to WS? I AM ALREADY GUTTED BY THE POSSIBILITIES. Who can calm me down??

Pick a character in the drama you'd WANT to be; and then pick the character you'd MOST LIKELY BE if you were in Goryeo (just know I'm side-eyeing all those who will say they'd most likely be Wang So...) 1. HS - I would just open a pizza shop and live a comfortable life with WS from the word go!.. when he first confessed 2. want to be Evil Queen - because i really really really want to know whats going on with her... why she does what she does 3. most likely be the candle!! .. or alternatively SD minus the martial arts knowledge.. replace that with dance but her character through and through

I could just watch it endlessly on loop ^ ^ As far as the significance of Pegasus, I think it's been mentioned in this forum as well but Korean fans have put together that the significance is not in the mythology but the timing of when the constellation appears in the night sky. In Korea, Pegasus rises in the early evening in autumn - and historically Gwangjong took the throne in fall of 949, our current year in the drama. The way Su reads it in the drama is: 물 닿은 곳에 이르러 앉아 보니, 구름이 일 때로다. An alternate reading I've found is: 물길이 다한 곳에 이르러 앉아서 구름이 이는 곳을 보노라. If you just read it by pronouncing the hanja, it's: 行到水窮處(항도수궁처) 座看雲起時(좌간운기시)

jerboa83
I confess that I couldn't get myself to watch ep. 16 because of Eun's and his wife's (HOW MUCH did I love her! ) death... When I did, it was even worst than I had feared, even because the acting (especially Lee Joon Ki's) was SO SUPERB that it struck me like a thunderbolt and left me breathless. It was such an INTENSE episode (even more, if you watched the SBS version) that I would dare comparing it to ep. 11...

HaeSoo, my girl, you know that you did wrong and you regret it , I know. You will regret it more, when you turn back to the 21 century and there is no WS. I would have given the man "carte blanche" to kiss me whenever he wants, wherever he wants. Popular Post WeunXK
Lee Jun Ki shares his thoughts on his acting career and disappointing 'Scarlet Heart: Ryeo' TV ratings By alice101 Actor Lee Jun Ki recently posed for a photo shoot with 'Singles' magazine, charming everyone with his fall-inspired outfits and gorgeous looks. During an interview at the photo shoot site, the actor discussed his thoughts on his dramas, TV ratings, and his overall acting career and some choices he has had to make. When asked to talk about his current drama, 'Scarlet Heart: Ryeo' Lee Jun Ki admitted, "I have worries about the TV ratings." As a big drama with its original, Chinese version having had huge success, the Korean version is not doing as well in terms of TV ratings. Lee Jun Ki stated, "I feel sad. All the actors and staff worked so hard. Everyone worked so hard..." Aside from the TV ratings, the drama is getting a lot of positive feedback, and many are praising Lee Jun Ki's acting. However, he did not make excuses, saying, "I have no regrets. As a leading role, I must have a sense of responsibility with its success, including TV ratings. As I watch this drama, I am looking for what it is lacking." His monitoring does not end there. Lee Jun Ki says that he reads all the comments on articles related to him. He explained, "Not just my works, but I watch almost all dramas and movies that are out to analyze what people like, why certain dramas have high ratings, and why some don't do as well. It helps me be a better actor for the next work and also helps me to select scripts." When questioned about plans to get married, he responded, "I have my priorities. I want to be settled as an actor first. It's not just about performing well as an actor. I think a lot about how I can be chosen by the public consistently...Yes, I do feel frustrated with myself sometimes too." Spoiler ALLKPOP =========== Lee Joon Ki talks life after Scarlet Heart: Ryeo Lee Joon Ki is ready to meet fans and continue to grow as an actor! With only four episodes left in Scarlet Heart:Ryeo, the leading actor is already talking fanmeetings and future acting opportunities with Singles magazine. The 34 year-old actor modeled the latest trends in suits, crocheted sweaters and leather jackets for the black and white photo shoot, while he chatted with the publication. He is all in when it comes to fan gatherings! Fanmeeting preparations take about a month, because he is very hands-on with the entire event. From songs to special events during the meetings, he does it all. "I am grateful to all my fans, and I am trying hard to be together with them," he said. Spoiler Although he is very happy he met the great cast and crew on the set of Scarlet Heart: Ryeo, the Hallyu star is ready to embrace the future. His next role is Commander Lee in the Hollywood film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which releases in US theaters on January 27. "It's just a special appearance, and I think of it as a good experience... I have been acting for more than 10 years now, but there's still a lot I want to show everyone. I haven't met my true character yet. I hope to in the future." Fans are more than willing to take that future ride with him. I think Lee Joon Ki has done an unbelievable job as Wang So these past couple of months. I was 100% Team Wang Wook until recent episodes. He's very persuasive. https://www.dramafever.com/pt/news/lee-joon-ki-talks-life-after-scarlet-heart-ryeo-/ 61
