Seriously!? that emperor is a piece of work. He is a stupid idiot.!.. I do not understand how SN chose him over Wang Yu's character. but anyway, we can't expunge history, and so  they ended up together. The actors are doing extremely well portraying all the characters. I was just wondering if the emperor was truly that annoyingly weak and stupid, I really want to slap him, which I know will cost me my head, lol!. ji chang wook is so convincing in this character, that the upside of him playing the emperor is that he is very easy on the eyes. I wonder if the real emperor huizong is as good looking as him. but Jun Ji Mo's Wang Yu is just smoldering HOT!..... in ep 44 where the empress and her retinue were paying their last respects to the king of goryeo , and so escorted by tal tal on his way to exile, and the Goryeo team of yuan headed by SN saw Wang Yu on his way out of the palace and they all bowed in unison, that scene was truly riveting and heart wrenching. Wang Yu in all his shabbiness and looking like all of Bayan's men ganged up on him, he looked so beat up, down and out after being stripped of his title and yet he looked so sexy and vulnerable, and he still exuded strength, dignity and graciousness, all befitting a true leader and king.   that is one hot guy, right there. I guess the writers wrote the characters that way to make the contrast between the two men of Sungnyang.  Wang Yu who is mature, manly and a man of his word, a leader who had solid and loyal following not for the power that he wields but for the gentleness and the caring attitude he shows those who serve him whereas the Emperor is a spoiled brat  who's only concern and goal in life is to not look stupid and weak to his people and still ends up being one. talk about irony. Well, one can't really expunge history, we all know what happened to the real emperor huizong, he did not stay long in power and was eventually deposed too. This is truly a very beautiful drama. The whole cast has done a great job, especially to ha ji won, jun ji- mo and ji chang-wook, our three main leads. Can Wang Yu just end up with Yeonbisu? :D lol!

@serg8‌ , :D love how you describe WY character .. JJM portrayal is superb. Of all the King i've seen and watch in kdrama land. His is one of the best . JJM express it naturally without overacting or displaying too much actions just to emphasize his feelings.

Finished watching ep 45, I've got to admit, the only person I feel bad for in this ep would be el maid, sure she wasn't a good person when she was alive, she acted that way in order to survive in the palace. She agreed to help nyang only to think she could live a better life out of the palace, but it's so sad the new empress is so darn twisted and decide to kill el maid. Girl wish you a better luck in your next life! I swear some people just weren't mean to be born in the whole yuan/goryeo era.

@vu_hoa1983 , i agree , WY character as a man and a King with good virtue may be just a fruit of writers imagination but the portrayal of JJM made it so real. I don't really mind that he didn't end up with SN. That was there fate. :x I just love the way he is. I'll be his loyal follower from now on too.. :)) :)) :))

I was somewhat sad that El Maid died, but she had it coming for her.  She pretty much dug her own grave for being so foolish to believe that KT would really let her leave the palace.
How stupid and naive can she be to trust KT when she knows what KT is capable of.  Did she forget that KT had once threatened to frame her for trying to poison her so that she'd abuse MaHa to frame SN?
If El Maid was any smarter (yes, I know the writers made her that way, and it's her time to leave) she could have just easily told KT that SN called her over to ask about MaHa's study progress.
El Maid dug her own grave by telling KT the secret about MaHa.  Then when she decided to switch gears and not help SN, she pretty much buried herself.
I'm sure if she had run to SN to tell her KT knows what she wants to do, SN would protect her.  Afterall, she is currently the only person SN has to reveal MaHa's identity so that Ayu's crown prince position will be secure.

I have to agree with you on that @pegster‌ . Maybe at the moment, she forgot bout or should I say she didn't even think of the promise that nyang made, she knew how twisted the new empress is and knowing that the new empress already found out nyang motives for calling her out for a meeting late at night, I mean she could have been killed right then. I'd be afraid as well and probably bite my tounge and die right there.

@tessieroo said: @CherKell - I couldn't believe the PD did that! I mean...he forces her and then I hear JCW's lovely, sweet voice singing his love song to Ki? Are you freakin' kidding me?
Again, I think we need @DJG to help understand Ki's reaction to that whole mess. It's a very different time and consorts/concubines were treated very differently - their whole purpose is to make themselves available for sex with the King or Emperor. Even today, marital rape convictions didn't begin until the 1980's in most countries (and there are still countries that don't consider it illegal for a man to force his wife to have sex) Just google "marital rape".
Ki is basically TH's property, she belongs to him and he can do whatever the heck he wants to with her. It's been his deep, undying love for her that has him showing her such concern and respect up until now. However, that love is being tested. I'm certainly not saying I think what he did was right but considering this time in history and Ki's position? This may be why we're not seeing a horrified reaction from her, she may believe he had every right to do that to her, she IS his consort. It's not that she couldn't fight back, it might be that she felt she shouldn't. (just a guess) Of course for us modern ladies, it's criminal. I'm trying really hard to understand Ki's reaction. b-(
