SBS officially announced the confirmation of actor Kang Ji Hwan as the male lead in the new weekend drama, "Incarnation of Money". .
Kang Ji Hwan's character, Lee Cha Don has painful childhood memories from a loan shark and his money organization, but through a superior ability to exert his genius but mostly expected within the Organization, he fills up a stylish own self-interest.

But as it turns out, the secrets of the painful childhood memories would make him realize the value of money. After a loan shark lives a new way of life, the man who raised himself would have a conflict in love with Hwang Eum Jung and Lee Tae Im.

As of the moment, Kang Ji Hwan and his agency S-Plus Entertainment have a conflict regarding his exclusive contract.

The first broadcast of the "Incarnation of Money" will be aired next month.

Couldn't agree with you more @lyra_brillantez about his hair. It wasn't like that at the Busan Fan Meeting last Dec. 15. Hope they change it, The sooner the better. ^^

I have so much respect and gratitude for what SBS did for KJH. They just showed that after doing "Coffee House" with him (while he was in conflict with Jambo), they believe in his talent so much that they were willing to wait and even fight for him. After trying out several actors his age, they realized that KJH was the only actor that could carry the role well and they would not settle for anyone less. =D>

Kang Ji Hwan!! yay that he is back in dramaland and that too with the team of History of the Salaryman, which I haven’t seen but heard so many good things about. So we can expect another great comedy, Kang Ji Hwan is pretty awesome in such roles.The drama is called Incarnation Of Money and has Hwang Jung Eum as the leading lady opposite him.

The story is quite interesting and crazy. Hwang Jung Eum is the dangerous daughter of a loan shark who knows only one thing: money. And is of those types who can do anything to collect their money. Kang Ji Hwan is one of those unfortunate debtors, who is locked up in a mental institution. She then goes there to take him out(may be for using her own methods to take back her money) of that place by faking the act that they are married. Wow, color me interested, for the lead hero and the idiosyncratic plot.

Basically, the show will be a sarcasm on lobbying, connections and the corruption caused by money. It will premiere on February 2 on SBS after Alice in Cheongdam-dong wraps up.

Here's a little trivia about the lead stars of the new drama, "Incarnation of Money". Did you know that this is not the first time that KJH and Hwang Eum Jung would be working together? They have both appeared in the 2009 telecinema, "The Relation of Face, Mind and Love". KJH played the lead role of the handsome architect,Kang Tae Pung, who experienced a temporary visual impairment after a car accident.Hwang Eum Jung on the other hand, played the supporting role of Kim Eun Bin.Kim Eum Bin is the stewardess sister of KJH's late girlfriend and she is also in love with KJH. When the character of the lead actress, Lee Ji ah left him after their wedding due to a misunderstanding, Kim Eun Bin tried to force herself into Tae Pung's heart. However, he pushed her away and said that he's not getting married to anyone. If you have watched this movie, you would probably remember that scene by now.

Kang Ji Hwan Finalizes His Return In 'Money Incarnate'

Kang Ji-hwan has finalized his appearance in the drama ‘Money Incarnate’ admist his conflict with his management.

SBS has reported on the 5th that “we have finalized Kang Ji-hwan as the lead, Lee Cha-don in the drama ‘Money Incarnate’”.

Lee Cha-don is a prosecutor in Seoul’s Central District Court. Harboring a wound from his youth, he rises to become a prosecutor through black money, and becomes a ‘money incarnate’, using his considerable genius to fill his endless desires.

Lee Cha-don, however, is reminded of a new virtue of justice when his wound comes back from his past. Living a new life, he is torn between his childhood friend Bok Jae-in (Hwang Jung-eum) and his fellow prosecutor Jun Ji-hoo (Lee Tae-im).

SBS commented, “Kang Ji-hwan’s abilities makes him the best candidate for depicting the heavy themes in the drama, and of his contrast between a cold prosecutor and a hot-blooded seeker of justice and love with wit and humor”.

The drama ‘Money Incarnate’ will premiere on 2nd of February.

Kang Ji Hwan is Back for “Incarnation of Money”

Yay! Kang Ji Hwan is back to the business soon!

I don’t know (and i don’t care) the progress of his legal issue, but on January 4th, it was already confirmed that Kang Ji Hwan will team up with Hwang Jung Eum on SBS’s up coming drama “Incarnation of Money” (돈의 화신).

“Incarnation of Money” is a satire comedy that came from the same team behind of “History of Salary Man”. This drama tells about a debtor and the daughter of loan shark. Just like in “Salary Man”, once again money becomes the main issue here that can make people go insane.

This drama is scheduled for airing on February 2nd, to follow “Cheongdamdong Alice”. Besides dying to see the witty gentleman, Kang Ji Hwan, back on the small screen, I also loved “History of Salary Man” since the drama was so cynical and comical, so i’m waiting for this too.

Reincarnated Kang Ji Hwan?

YES!

No better news than having a fav of mine on board a drama that I’m looking forward to so much. Think of Giant, think of History of the Salaryman, think of the freaking genius writer and PD team who gave us those dramas. I’m good with Eun Jung, even better and OK with Hwang Jung Eum (I freaking adore her!). But more than anything, KANG JI HWAN! Finally you’re in for something solid, a drama in which you may get to shine and showcase your talents. If you do this right, I’m so going to forgive you for the earlier crap that you’d done (Lie To Me and Runway Cop alike).

The plot of the drama falls on the dramatic crazy radar to be honest, if not for the writer-PD team, I seriously wouldn’t bat an eyelid. It ranges from kinda makjang-ish to bit of crazy meshed with typical K-drama formula. But it’s PD Yoo In Shik and writers Jang we’re talking about here. We can expect a lil bit of solid from everything (serious and comedy). Check here for initial summary of  plot and set-up of characters.

I hope everything with the drama runs well, I can only be grateful to the production and SBS for having made such a risky decision. KJH has been embroiled in a constant train of legal disputes ever since forever that I can remember. Though he’d done Coffee House and Lie To Me amidst all the legal furor and gained pretty positive responses from both projects, I don’t think the ongoing and increasingly heated tension with his current agency will do him any good, the last I read they’d even petitioned to have him banned from all activities o_0. Maybe he’s got a team of good lawyers doing whatever they can to make sure he’s not lost from the entertainment scene, maybe he’s just lucky. Me? I just want to see him on my screen.

Incarnation of Money premieres this coming February.

Kang Ji-hwan and Hwang Jeong-eum in SBS "Money Incarnation"

Actor Kang Ji-hwan and actress Hwang Jeong-eum are starring in the upcoming SBS drama "Money Incarnation".

Kang Ji-hwan takes on the role of Lee Cha-don who rises to the seat of a special branch prosecutor with the money of a loan shark. Hwang Jeong-eum takes on the role of Bok Jane, the daughter of the loan shark who raises Lee Cha-don.

"Money Incarnation" which is going to be aired after "Cheongdam-dong Alice", is about the lobbying and corruption of the Korean society through Lee Cha-don who loses everything because of money.

The third character between this love triangle will be played by Lee Tae-im as the female prosecutor Jeon Ji-hoo.

"Money Incarnation" is written by Jang Yeong-cheol and Jeong Kyeong-soon-I and produced by Yoo In-sik.

Meanwhile, Kang Ji-hwan is currently in a legal fight with his agency including a 360 million won compensation and an appeal to stop all of his activities.
