Now this looks GOOD!  We see Kang and NOT BGH with the swords at his neck - so who ARE these guys helping BHG with swords????

And it finally looks like the Chinese envoy is there and making it known that BGH is the one who cured the empress!  Can it be true???  Is our long nightmare of evil people winning and good people suffering over, for at least awhile? 

Is that surprise on Jinyong's face because she is reading about who she and BGH really are???   Oh this is killing me, I won't see it on HuluPlus till Wednesday!!  Can some of you lovely people who've seen this relieve this angst? LOL

Disclaimer - I do not speak Korean but understand the gist/most of it from watching countless of kdramas.

Ep 36 recap

1.  Starts with Oh Gyue Tae coming to the palace and informing the King that despite having one leg he is now healthy.  King demands an explanation from LMH, Sam Su Ui medical staff, he gets none and calls them pathetic.   KJN gives explanation from about the procedure used on Oh Gyue Tae after which the king demands an investigation of the hospital etal. 

2.  BGH thanks Oh Gyue Tae for his help in releasing in teacher and told him that in due time his identity will be revealed.

3.  Saam is released and SKY greets him with tofu.  InJu and KJN later visit Saam and SKY requesting the identity of the doctor.  They told Inju and KJN to wait they will know soon.

4. EunSeo infroms the princess that BGH is alive and in Joseon.  The princess wonders why he has not shown himself to anyone as yet. Doshik also informs LSH that BGH is alive and in Joseon.

5. GiBae and Jabon went to the soup place in which GiBae got in an argument with the soup lady about BGH. The soup guy supports GiBae on this topic.  (Therefore the romance is up in the air at this point).  BGH visits GiBae and Jabon that night, it was a tearful greeting. BGH basically says that he is not running away and that everything will be fine.  GiBae and Jabon inform the soup guy that BGH is alive the next day.

6. KJN requests some information from Tae Ju and Dae Mang regarding the treatment of the patients (she is doing a doctor identity search).  She confirmed that BGH is alive by comparing the writings -past and present (trust a woman who knows her man).  BGH looks at her home and says to himself that he will show himself to her soon.  The next day the princess tells KJN that BGH is alive and is in Joseon which she says that she knows that.

7.  Saam and SKY are doing some investigation regarding medicine (herbs) that are purchased by Sam Su Ui.

8.  The king is being pressured by puppet queen and mother to forgive LMH using the fact that he saved the crown prince as a card.  So the king is in a uncomfortable situation and with the Chinese delegation there with LMH "saving China's queen" to forgive LMH has to be placed into consideration.

9.  LMH's henchman/men tried to kill BGH who was protected by the Chinese envoy bodyguards.  BGH had set a trap for the henchman and show that he was alive.

10. The Chinese delegation arrive for a special event hosted by Joseon's royalty, LMH and cronies believe that they are going to be rewarded. LSH tells his father that BGH is alive who was interrupted to attend the event.

11.  Show ends with the envoy thanking the king for their assistance with the queen and revealing that the person responsible for her recovery was BGH who walked in the ceremony to the shock of all and sundry.

 

My view of episode 36 :

 

 

 

In this case BGH's reasoning and statement for his return.  English translation courtesy of happysworld - "I want to stand in front of the female doctor with dignity" is apt.  Through the preparation made BGH & KJN do not have to live like criminals on the run as well as his close ones as they are not in danger at this point. He can stand with his head high due to the achievements made plus he will be able to fulfill his former mentor's dream.

 

 

 

 

 

BGH reveal was a culmination of 3 things in how it was done - 1st in a small form through revenge preparation against LMH & cementing his stay in Joseon (cannot be eliminated easily), 2nd gradually to GiBae & Jabon and 3rd in a big bang at diplomacy ceremony between China and Joseon to the shock of all and sundry.  Looking forward to Tuesday's episode.

Thank you for putting such angst to rest, I cannot wait till I get the email alert from HuluPlus that the next episode is up!

Now if it keeps going like this they can add all the episodes they want!
