The power of Hwang Jung-min and Hyun-bin worked.  

On the 20th, according to the integrated computer network for movie theater tickets of the Korea Film Promotion Commission, 'Negotiation' (director Lim Soon-rye) attracted 67,520 viewers in one day on the 19th and took first place at the box office for two days in a row after its release. The cumulative number of viewers is 173,991. 

'Negotiation', which was released on the 18th, is cruising, taking first place for two days in a row. The film depicts a negotiating operation between a diplomat and a local NIS agent who went to Afghanistan to rescue Koreans who were held hostage by the Taliban in the worst kidnapping incident. Director Lim Soon-rye's new film for the first time in 5 years, and Hwang Jung-min, Hyun Bin, and Kang Ki-young joined forces.

SEOUL, Jan. 20 (Yonhap) - This weekend, from the start Lunar New Year holiday, new Korean films will start to attract audiences in earnest.

 

According to the KOREA Box-office Information System, the movie “The Point Men,” which was released on Wednesday, remained at the top of the box office with 67,000 people watching on Thursday. The cumulative number of visitors for two days is about 173,000.

 

Director Lim Soon-rye's "The Point Men" was based on the "Saemaul Church abduction incident" in Afghanistan in 2007. It contains the breathtaking activities of diplomats played by Hwang Jung-min and NIS agents played by Hyun Bin to rescue the hostages safely.

 

"Phantom," which was released along with "The Point Men," has ranked third in the box office with 29,000 people entering. With cast members such as Seol Kyung-gu, Lee Ha-nee, Park Hae-soo, and Park So-dam, they portrayed the activities of the secret spy "phantom" of the anti-Japanese organization in Japanese colonial era.

 

"The First Slam Dunk," which is the remake of the popular cartoon "Slam Dunk" on the screen in the 1990s, is being watched by more than 34,000 people, chasing "The Point Men" in second place.

 

The movie "Avatar: The Way of Water,” which gave up its first place in 36 days due to the release of "The Point Men" and "Phantom," is ranked fourth. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admission tickets on the 21st, "Negotiation" topped the box office, attracting 91,478 spectators during the day on the 20th.The cumulative number of spectators was 265,468.

Negotiations, which reached the top of the box office as soon as it was released on the 18th, have been in place for three consecutive days.
