SLL's 'Thirty-Nine' and 'Kyungi Gu' was selected as 'Bechdel Day 2022' for contributing to gender equality

This is the power of well-made works.  

The JTBC dramas 'Thirty, Nine' and 'Gu Kyung-i' produced by the world-leading creative studio SLL (Studio LuluLala, CEO Jeong Kyung-moon) were selected for 'Bechdel Day 2022'.  

'Bechdel Day' is an awards ceremony hosted by the Korean Film Directors' Guild (DKG) and started with the purpose of 'contributing to cultural diversity by raising awareness and universalizing gender equality'.  

Until last year, ten films with a high gender equality index were selected as 'Bechdel's Choice 10', and directors, writers, actors and producers who contributed to the creation of these films were selected as 'Bechdelians'.  

'Bechdel Day 2022', which will be held from the 31st to the 3rd of next month, will go beyond movies and newly establish a series section that plays a pivotal role in the K content industry, selecting five dramas and creators who contributed to them.  

SLL has been presenting works with fresh materials and meaningful themes one after another. As if to prove this, 'Thirty, Nine' and 'Gu Kyungi' were named in 'Bechdel's Choice 5' in this year's series category. Two of the five works were selected, making it even more meaningful.  

'Thirty, Nine' made viewers cry and laugh by dealing with the deep story of friendship, love, and life of three friends who are about to turn forty, and recorded an audience rating of 8.9% in the Nielsen Korea metropolitan area.  

Writer Yoo Young-ah, who conveyed the message that “a sincere relationship is the most important,” and actress Lee Young-ae, who led the play by introducing a detective character that was not in the world with a 180-degree change in acting in 'Koo Kyung-i', which attracted attention with characters who broke stereotypes was also selected as a 'bechdelian'.  

In this regard, an SLL official said, "We will continue to create meaningful works so that we can lead the content market with well-made works that go beyond dramas and movies."

After announcing her pregnancy, Son Ye Jin is drawing attention from the couple’s fans and the general K-drama enthusiasts. 

As she is still in her pregnancy, the actress decides to halt all filming activities to focus on taking care of the child and herself. However, Ye Jin is still taking invitations for fan meetings and magazine photo shoots. 
 

 

However, what caught viewers’ eyes was the actress’ subtlety in using the handbag as cover for her baby bump. It is seen that both Ye Jin and her child are in their best condition. 

The actress appeared on the cover for Luxury magazine before, in the 2021 September issue. She wore a classy black-and-white outfit. Her graceful look and fine attitude also generated a fever soon afterwards. Making her return to the magazine this year, Son Ye Jin still maintained her confident aura yet adding to her look some feminine touch. 
 

Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin met each other on the set of 2018 crime thriller movie “The Negotiation” and officially dated one year after, when the pair reunited in rom-com drama “Crash Landing on You” in 2019. Their fairytale-like wedding of a well-loved couple was held on March 31st this year to the joy and blessings of millions of fans across the globe. LUXURY Magazine collaborated with Italian fashion house Valentino for their September 2022 issue, featuring none other than Son Ye Jin, who's also an ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house.

 

Flaunting her baby bump in the most fashionable way possible, Ye Jin posed for the cover clad in a bright pink embellished mini dress that features an off-shoulder neckline. She wore it with fuchsia leggings and a Valentino VSling bag in bubblegum pink. Talk about nailing the Barbiecore trend! The K-drama actress also debuted her shoulder-length bob that made her look even more fresh and glowing.

 

The magazine's cover is the first time that we got a glimpse of Ye Jin's growing baby bump since they announced their pregnancy, and needless to say, she looks *fabulous*!

 

She first collaborated with her reel-to-real beau Hyun Bin in the 2018 film The Negotiation, and later on made international success with their second project Crash Landing on You. However, it wasn't until January 2021 when the couple confirmed their relationship.
