Kim Soo-hyun to promote "The Moon Embracing the Sun" in Japan next month

Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun will be making his way to Japan next month to promote his MBC TV series, "The Moon Embracing the Sun."

KEYEAST announced in a press release earlier today that Kim will meet with his fans and Japanese media outlets at the Tokyo Cultural Center for two days starting July 4, in order to promote and attend the previews for the series.

The firm explained that the first two episodes of "The Moon Embracing the Sun" is scheduled to air on Japan's KNTV next month, while the entire series will officially kick off in August.

"We feel that Kim has a different charm from other Korean stars. The way he portrays himself with his sensitive emotions, deep voice and stern persona is one of the biggest factors that has caught the attention of his fans in Japan," an official from his Japanese agency was quoted as saying.

Kim had previously visited the country for a number of occasions to promote KBS' teen series, "Dream High," which had aired on Japan's TBS. The show has won several awards at various ceremonies in Japan and raised him to a new level of popularity.

“Moon,” co-starring actress Han Ga-in and actor Jung Il-woo, is one of the highest rated series during the first half of 2012 and had been the dominant leader on the Wednesday and Thursday primetime and weekly ratings charts, between January and March.

Adapted from the novel of the same name, the mega-hit series is penned by scriptwriter Jung Eun-gwol.

The plot surrounds the love story between Lee Hwon (Kim) and a female shaman named Wol, played by actress Han.

Wol was originally born into a noble family and was in line to become the next crown princess when she got entrapped and faced execution.

However, her life was saved by a female shaman and her secret and she loses her childhood memory. Wol later returns to the palace as a shaman and meets Hwon, the love of her life.

Kim, who made his debut in MBC's sitcom, "Kimchi Cheese Smile" in 2007, won the 20's Popular Star and 20's Drama Star awards with his outstanding portrayal of the main male character in "Moon," at the 6th Mnet 20's Choice Awards held in Seoul last night.

Actor Kim Soo Hyun received two awards at 2012 20’s Choice Awards.

Kim Soo Hyun received Drama Star Awards and Popularity Award at 2012 20’s Choice Awards that was held at Seoul Banyan Tree Club & Spa at June 28 at 7:00p.m.

On stage, Kim said, “Thank you for this great awards. I will try harder.”

SBS Rooftop Prince’s Han Ji Min received the Drama Star Awards for the female section. Han said, “I want to thank Rooftop Prince for this award.”

For the movie section, Lee Jae Hoon and Suzy of the movie Architecture 101, which exceeded 4.1 million views, received the awards. They became the rising stars by appearing on the movie.

For the performance section, Hyun Ah and Hyun Seung who performed “Trouble Maker” together were nominated. However, they did not appear on the ceremony.

Han Hye Jin, the MC of SBS’s Healing Camp, received Variety Star Awards. Busker Busker, who ranked second place on Super Star K3, received the Online Music Awards.

SNSD’s unit Taetiseo received the Trendy Music Awards. They competed with Big Band until the very end.

Koxx was nominated for their band music. Sistar received the Sexiest Performance Award.

In the Do Don’ts section, Park Jin Young was nominated.

Besides them, Jang Yoon Joo was nominated in the style section, Super Junior in global star, and Yeo Jin Goo in upcoming star section. As for comedy section, Comedy Big League’s Laeeddo(Yang Sae Hyung, Lee Yong Jin, and Park Gyu Sun) received the award.

This year’s 20’s Choice was held as a special summer party for the 20s with the slogan ‘Do Don’t, Super 20, challenge yourself to new things and speak up.’

This day, Busker Busker and Suzy jointly performed “Cherry Blossom Ending” with ‘first love’ as the theme. On top of that, 2PM’s Woo Young heated up the stage with his solo performance. Park Jin Young also showed off his hit songs.

so after the R&B yakult event then he's leaving for JAPAN...i'll be missing him but hopefully his Japanese fans will share us the videos & pics of him promoting "THE MOON EMBRACES THE SUN"..then after that he'll be concentrating in his new movie as well as going to london..he's overwhelmed w/ work next month...
