Yonghwa is a bright and talented person. There's a lot of his traits that I admire, especially on his work as a musician.

He is not afraid to challenge himself and always tries new styles when composing his songs. I can say that his music genre tends to go on the trendy type of music, like fusing rap to the rock melodies (unlike Jonghyun's style), and it gives us the fresh burst of feeling as compared to hearing the usual hard rock songs.

The latter songs that he composed are much more streamlined than his previous compositions. I actually like it this way. It is more natural and the melodies flow much smoothly, even the way he writes his lyrics. It flows better than before. Indeed, it appeals more to the masses, too, which implies the greater range of the songs.

I hope he grows himself as a much better musician and not to stop learning further and making music.

this young man is truly talented and very focused on his music.  He's willing to try new styles in his composing and his lyric writing is brilliant.  He has a very bright future

ahead of him.  Hoping to hear more of his music.

Yonghwa is really a talented musician.

I really admire him because of his ability to compose and write music at a young age.

I love all the songs that he wrote!

One of my favorite songs that he wrote has got to be "Y, Why". First time I hear it and like.. goosebumps all over. Also felt the same with "Don't Say Goodbye".

I also like the upbeat songs he wrote, like "Love Revolution".. and recently "Love Girl". The songs that would be like on loop in my ipod.

"Love light" and "For First Time Lovers".. these songs are the type of songs that would make me sigh contentedly and bring a smile to my face whenever I listen to them.

Yong seems to be also trying to experiment like what he did on "I Don't Know Why" which I also like.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Yong's growth as a musician and more songs from him! <3

Yonghwa fighting! CNBLUE fighting! <3

I just checked Gaon Chart real-time and saw Yonghwa's For First Time Lovers song is still on top 100. It's now on #78. Two weeks ago, it was #59. It's still doing well in a way.

And I'm also looking forward to his performance in Mnet Soundplex. :w00t:

I was first amazed with Yonghwa's vocal ability when I watched that special performance with other artists - Josh Groban's You Raise Me Up? I know he's a rocker but I didn't think he could reach those notes. So I was very impressed. In CN Blue, his raspy voice meshes with Jonghyun's cool one. I love it. It's full of emotion when singing, like it really tugs your heart. Haha that's why he's "Emotional" I guess.

I would love to see him cover Incubus. Or write songs (solo or for CN Blue) with that kind of style. Emotional for the emotional singer.

[News] CNBLUE Concluded Zepp Tour in Tokyo and Talks About Their Future Hopes

CNBLUE’s third Japanese single ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’ was released on 9th of January. They have also finished their Zepp Tour to 4 cities, namely Osaka (9 January), Fukuoka (11 January), Nagoya (13 January) and Tokyo (16 January).

The tickets for their shows were sold out immediately when they were opened for sale. Their third single ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’ ranked second in the oricon chart and 14th in the weekly chart which shows that they are really popular.

Jung Yonghwa and Lee Jonghyun composed the songs in ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’. During the tour, they have not only performed the three songs in the new single but also their debut songs ‘I’m A Loner’ and another hit song ‘LOVE’. They performed a total of 25 songs including the encore stage.

They were conducting the interview with the MC in good Japanese. Yong Hwa said, ‘I want to do live performances, not only in Japan but also in Korea and even the whole world’. The MC praised his good Japanese and Yong Hwa responded, ‘Your words is very encouraging’, Jungshin said that “I wanted to improve Japanese”. While JongHyun said “I want to give everybody courage. I wanted to make all happy”. And Minhyuk also said,’I want to write songs for our album and to have exceptional drum skills’.

They then talked about their aspirations. He added, ‘Instead of performing in a great hall, I would like to perform live like in Zepp many more times in the future’. The venue where the interview was held was filled with their fans who were there to cheer for them.

On that day, CNBLUE was asked in their interview about their first Zepp Tour. Yong Hwa said “Last year we did tour in clubs but we have been longing to perform in Zepp Halls and they have been very cooperating” . He also revealed, ” The songs in ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’ were composed by us and arranged by Japanese musicians. The songs are played using a variety of musical instruments. We are glad that the songs have turned out to be a very good. The lyrics means to remind people not to forget their original passion. If you pay attention to the lyrics, you are reminded to be back to the basics as well.”

It has already been first anniversary of their Korean debut. When asked about how other members have changed in the past year, JongHyun said, ‘Yonghwa’s great singing and guitar skills lightened up the whole band and the great music he made also helped us a lot.’

Yong Hwa said , ‘Having such busy schedule, I think it is great that we can find time to compose our songs and more elements are added’. And about Minhyuk, Yong Hwa said, ‘ Drums possess great power which can be shown on the stage. And now Minhyuk possesses the great power of the drum. We are given very glamorous stage now and during performances, we collaborated well with the exact rhythm. I believe they (his skills) will grow more.’

Minhyuk said, ’I am responsible for the rhythm part but we all have been growing together. We are growing taller too (laugh).. Anyway, I feel that we have been growing together.’ The other members also feel the same.

When asked about their personal goals in this year, Jungshin said he wanted to write more lyrics and music, JongHyun said that it is his dream that many people can enjoy their music for a long time. Yonghwa said he wanted to make a lot of songs this year too and get other members to involve in making the album. He also hoped to bring a lot fun to the fans. Lastly, Minhyuk said that he wanted to try writing lyrics and participate in making the album. He also wanted to enhance his skills of playing drums too.

Thank you, @cynt09, for the article.

I'm always looking forward to Yonghwa's live performances. Coming soon on the Mnet Soundplex, I can't wait to hear his solo performance. I watched a fancam of him singing Sonyeo (Girl), an old song by Lee Moon Seh, and it's the first time I was moved by his singing. It's amazing the range of Yonghwa's knowledge of songs, even listening to songs that was a hit before he was even born (like me, but I usually blame that to my father's influence).

I hope he won't ever lose his first intention and original passion, to spread rock band music and composing/making songs. B)

Oh its wonderful to find a thread where we can discuss Yonghwa the musician! I've been following Yong since his You are beautiful days. Honestly, I thought Shinwoo was cute, but didn't think much about his acting. It was only when I read a translation of his interview with 10Asia on dramabeans wonderful blog that I realized that Shinwoo was actually a musician. The interview showed how this sweet young man was first and foremost a talented and passionate musician.

(Here's the link for those who may not have read this interview.... [link]http://www.dramabeans.com/2009/12/jung-yong-hwa-follows-in-the-grand-tradition-of-kdrama-second-leads/ [/link])

Thanks to YAB and Shinwoo when CN Blue debuted in Korea I was watching out for them and for Jung Yonghwa. I liked Oetoria but it was only when I got the full Bluetory album (made my hubby buy it for me on a business trip to Korea - lol) that I discovered how talented he was. My favorite song in that album? Its a toss up between Love revolution, and Y, Why? Both with the Yong touch! Actually I like all the songs on the album. Not going to go into details of songs and albums in this post. Will save it up for later posts!

From liking his music to loving it, to being obsessed with it has not been a very long journey. I love the slow stuff he's done such as Love Light and FFTL. I adore all the Japanese songs they've put out, with I don't know why being a big favorite.

But the one song of Yonghwa's I can never get enough of, is Intro from their Japanese album Arigatou.....this piece is such a mood maker. I remember the first time i heard it was when I was watching the Zepp Live concert recording. As the music started playing in the background, I sat there with goosebumps forming on my skin....I couldn't believe how amazing a piece this was. To this day, I feel high when I listen to Intro. No matter how often I listen to the song... One day I hope to watch this song live at a CN Blue concert!

So what's your favorite Yonghwa song?

Mnet’s M! Countdown is back with another episode of great performances and musical treats.

Besides the usual stages, Big Bang and Lee Hyun (feat. Mighty Mouth) begun follow-up promotions, while Rainbow and Dal Shabet made their comeback. Elsewhere, Brave Girls made their debut.

Songs that charted this week.

it was a battle between Kim Tae Woo, CNBLUE, and 4minute for the #1 spot on M! Countdown today, and in the end, it was CNBLUE who grabbed their 3rd consecutive win tonight.

Congratulations to CNBLUE on their triple crown!

Congratulations to them! I'm pretty sure Yonghwa is so happy. :w00t:

And that encore song is awesome. Yonghwa's voice improvisation is something. He brings the song to another level, another version. It's a natural talent.

I'm sharing a fancam of Yonghwa by GoldenJYH, singing a rendition of Sonyeo during the Mnet Soundplex. It's one great performance.

110409 용화, 소녀

@rushgiri. Oh, I love the Intro, too! And since I'm more drawn to hard, intense melodies than trendy ones, I say, I like the melody of Just Please. Whenever they perform this song live, I can feel the power of Yong's vocals and the riffs of the guitar. Totally cool!

Yonghwa looked pretty tired, just looking at him the past several days. Their schedule must be jam packed due to the album promotions. But, him and his members' hard work have been rewarded by them winning triple crown.

@nirv_suria Hello. I know how you feel. We worry too about his sudden thinness. But recently, he seems to be gaining some of what he lost (he looks fed and better). Hopefully, he will look much better from hereon.
