Jung Gyu Woon 정겨운

Hi everyone, especially Jeeji and WoundedHeart!

I haven't come here in a while, after a long MIA hiatus on my part following "Dr Champ" withdrawal syndrom. Actually I haven't watched any new drama ever since, just reading recaps, but that's all. I miss Park Ji Heon. :tears:

I am now considering to give "SIGN" a try, especially since our friend Kaedejun has been recapping it on her blog. Thus I sneaked back in here to find some stills and was delighted to see so many nice ones. Thanks a lot and in particular for keeping that thread alive, as "our" Jung Gyu Woon deserves it. ^_^

Guest wintersun

Hi everyone, first time posting here.

I got to know Jung Gyu Woon when I watched Loving You A Thousand Times, but it was his role in Dr. Champ that made me fall for him.

seems like Gyu Woon has been confirmed for KBS2's The Maids, which had Sung Yu Ri as the lead female. I don't understand Korean but it's what I got from varius Korean articles (like this http://newsen.com/news_view.php?uid=201103151238241001&search=title&searchstring=%C1%A4%B0%DC%BF%EE ). The first ep is scheduled to be aired on May 11. I can't wait.

Jung Gyu-woon cast in new drama

2011031515545849223_1.jpg

Actor Jung Gyu-woon has been cast in a new KBS drama co-starring actress Sung Yu-ri.

Jung will appear as the young heir to a conglomerate family opposite actress Sung Yu-ri who play charming housekeeper No Soon-keum, who serves him, confirmed Jung’s agency N.O.A. Entertainment and related TV crew officials on Tuesday.

Scenarist Seo Sook-hyang, who wrote MBC’s romantic comedy “Pasta” (2010), will depict into the life and love of housekeepers who work for rich families.

The new drama tentatively titled “Sikmo-deul,” translated into “Nannies,” will go on air starting May 11, right after “The Thorn Birds” ends its run in the Wednesdays and Thursdays primetime slot.

Jung debuted in 2004 with mobile drama “Five Stars” and also appeared in many popular dramas including “Hello My Teacher (SBS, 2005), “Women of the Sun (KBS, 2008), “Hateful But Once Again (KBS, 2009) and “Dr. Champ (SBS, 2010)”.

His 2009 starrer “Love You Thousand Times” (SBS) which he starred in actress Lee Soo-kyung about a girl, who volunteers to become a surrogate mother, became the first Korean drama to be sold to Bulgaria early this year.

Jung’s most recent role was inspector Choi Yi-han at SBS medical drama “Sign” (2011) also starring Park Shin-yang, Kim A-joong and Uhm Ji-won.

Wintersun thanx for the pix, wish ther'll be translations of his interviews ^^

Here's an article from Dramabeans talking about the new drama, ive highlighted Gyuwoona's part kekeke

Jung Kyeo-woon joins Sung Yuri in Maids

jungkyeowoon_26.jpg

...........

Jung Kyeo-woon, then, plays a chaebol for whom (I presume) Sung will work. After playing a cop (Sign) and an exuberant athlete (Dr. Champ), Jung says, “I’m really excited. Everyone’s envious that I get to work with Sung Yuri on a drama.” He describes his character as “originally very nice, but he comes back from New York very macho and masculine. He’s rude to women, and is a cold, hard-to-please type.

..........

Maids, which comes from the writer of Pasta, airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays on KBS following Thorn Birds. It premieres on May 11 —

^ I'm happy and sad at the same time after reading it. I'm happy because we will get to see more from Gyu Woon  , but kind of sad because he will be playing a cold chaebol again. I want a new kind of character for him. He has already potrayed that kind of chaebol in Hateful but Once Again.
