Prior to Daniel Henney, actor Song Joong-ki also married an unfamiliar face to Korean fans. While Daniel Henney held a private wedding, Song Joong-ki only announced their marriage registration.

Song Joong-ki’s wife Katy Louise Saunders was a British actress. The two officially registered their marriage on January 30th and Katy gave birth to their son in Rome, Italy in June. Joining the promotion of the movie “Hwaran”, Song Joong-ki couldn’t hide his happiness after becoming a father and expressed extraordinary love for his wife and their baby.

 

When Song Joong-ki’s romantic relationship was first reported, public attention was focused on Katy. The actress mainly worked in Italy so she’s not well-known in Korea. Born to a British father and a Colombian mother, Katy made her debut in the 2002 film “A Scandalous Journey”. However, she is currently not carrying out acting activities.

 

Recently, Song Joong-ki and his wife were spotted attending the wedding of Song Joong-ki’s sister together.

*** I feel sad & bad that “Hopeless” has failed to make a mark at the box office. It has recorded an underwhelming performance and is likely to suffer financial losses according to Naver reports. Song Joong Ki’s star power seems insufficient to attract audiences. The movie was released on October 11, but, “Hopeless” managed only to draw in just 160,000 viewers in its opening week and had the lowest ticket reservation rate at 4.8%. Song Joong Ki already tasted failures with “The Battleship Island” and “Space Sweepers”. These two films received big investments to be made into blockbusters, however, the result was below expectations. However, this is only a temporary situation. I hope Song Joong Ki continues to release high-quality works in the near future.

Mission Song-possible”.  The video shows him  heading to Daejeon, his hometown for a stage greeting of the movie “Hopeless” after completing his schedule in Busan. Upon arriving at Daejeon Station, Song Joong-ki said, “Daejeon, this is my hometown! I’m nervous that my friends from Daejeon will be there”. The stage greeting finally began. Song Joong-ki greeted the audience, saying “Hello, I’m Song Joong-ki, pride of Daejeon”. As predicted, he really met a friend when looking around the hall after his greeting. He shyly said, “Oh my friend is here. They do this to me… I was so surprised!”.  After the stage greeting, Song Joong-ki spent time taking commemorative photos with the audience and reading handwritten letters. Despite this handicap, the Chinese website Douban has 122,046 reviews as of this writing. And not all of them were positive. The average of these reviews is only 7.1. For many, many years, illegal sourcing was the only way for C-fans to obtain subtitles to most of their favorite K-dramas. Why South Korean drama production companies allow their work to be sold to companies who cannot or will not distribute their work in a large lucrative region like China?
