Former KBS' Idol, and JYP's dance battle rival Lee Byung-hun to participate in narration of 'Tanttara JYP', in support of Park Jin Young on his 30th Anniversary concert. 😆

LBH, the man of golden voice ❤️

Actor Lee Byung-hun will be supporting singer Park Jin-young's 30th anniversary concert.

KBS announced on the 4th, "Lee Byung-hun participated in the video narration for KBS's large-scale nationwide concert project 'KBS Grand Project - Debut 30th Anniversary Special Ttanttara JYP' (hereafter referred to as 'Ttanttara JYP')."

'Ttanttara JYP' is a special program that encompasses Park Jin-young's 30 years of music career, and will present Park Jin-young's well-known mega hit songs with a rich full band live sound and unique performance direction.

Lee Byung-hun's participation in the narration for the prologue and epilogue videos adds to the anticipation. Park Jin-young and Lee Byung-hun, who have been recognized as the greatest legends in their respective fields for approximately 30 years, have met on various broadcasts and events and continue their relationship as good colleagues.

In particular, it is said that Lee Byung-hun readily accepted the narration for this performance despite his busy schedule filming director Park Chan-wook's new film "No Choice." It is expected that Park Jin-young's 30-year career in music, his sincerity towards the audience and the stage will be conveyed even more sincerely through Lee Byung-hun's voice.

Lee Byung-hun debuted as a KBS 14th open recruitment talent in 1991 and has established himself as an irreplaceable representative actor of South Korea by showcasing a diverse acting spectrum for 33 years. He will also appear in Netflix's new film "Squid Game Season 2," which will be released in December.

Meanwhile, "Tanttaga JYP" will air on KBS 2TV for 150 minutes starting at 8:30 PM on the 16th.

@Ephoenix  thanks for sharing this. So NICE that he has stepped up to support JYP for his 30th-anniversary concert, “Tantara JYP.” I didn't know that they have maintained a good friendship. Despite his busy schedule, Lee Byung Hun accepted the offer to narrate.   :partyblob:

'Squid Game' accused of plagiarism two months before release of season 2

A still from Netflix original series ″Squid Game″ (2021) [NETFLIX]

Two months before the grand reveal of the second season of "Squid Game," an Indian director accused filed a lawsuit against Netflix at the U.S. federal court for allegedly copying his 2009 film, "Luck," according to a Bloomberg report on Saturday.

According to the report, Indian filmmaker Soham Shah filed a suit to the federal court in New York on Friday, calling "Squid Game" a "blatant rip-off" of his own Hindi film. "Luck" revolves around the story of a "group of desperate, indebted people enticed to take part in a series of competitive games to win large sums of money" and face death if they lose the game.

Shah is "seeking unspecified damages and an injunction preventing Netflix from infringing his copyrights by marketing and streaming 'Squid Game,'" according to the report.

“The main plot, characters, themes, mood, setting and sequence of events of 'Squid Game' are strikingly similar to that of Luck, defying any likelihood that such similarities could be coincidence,” Shah said, according to Bloomberg.

"Squid Game," Netflix's biggest hit of 2022 that became the first foreign-language series to sweep the Emmy Awards, also takes place around a group of people desperately fighting for money and risking death as penalty.

Netflix shot down the accusation and vowed to "defend this matter vigorously."

“This claim has no merit,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement quoted by Bloomberg. “Squid Game was created by and written by Hwang Dong-hyuk and we intend to defend this matter vigorously.”

The second season of "Squid Game" is set for release on Dec. 26.

'Squid Game' accused of plagiarism two months before release of season 2

@willenette It just doesn’t make sense that this director decided to sue for the series that was released 3 years ago, and not when it first released and became a global sensation.

I’ve watched that movie LUCK, and honestly, when the first concept was released in the trailer, I did think of this movie. But after having watched Squid game recently, I couldn’t agree that this series is a rip-off of that one. The only thing that is similar is how people are playing a death game for money.

In Luck movie, the selected person were specifically chosen ones who are known to be lucky in life and do not die, and they all take part in the game for the sake of testing their luck and win money. However, the ones in the SG are all ordinary people from all sorts of life struggling to make ends meet. Even the games and rules are entirely different where the players in SG had no idea in the beginning that the game could cost them their lives unlike this Indian movie. I don’t think anyone can question the originality of the children’s games that are featured in SG. It’s just the adult and lethal version of that game thats all. Plus the societal message that SG delivers are nothing like the Indian movie.

It seems the Director is just jealous by the fact that his flop movie did not work and SG was a huge success. If they are to question for this tiny similarity then, there are other series who can question the same thing about VIPs and how they are paying to k-word people off. When the theories of Sae Byeok’s twin sister entering the game in S2 came, I thought it was made by those who watched the indian movie because the main female protagonist in the movie actually had entered the game to look for and revenge her twin sister who was killed in the previous game. Unlike her sister, she was not the lucky one in life.

I am glad Netflix is head strong to fight this lawsuit because there is no way they will let anything jeopardize the highest grossing series of their company.
