Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino to star in 'Beyond Deceit' by Tony Tran Fansided.com
Pacino and Hopkins are in talks to star in the upcoming legal thriller ‘Beyond Deceit.’
Showing the world that they are still alive and making movies, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino are in negotiations to star in the legal thriller Beyond Deceit. The film will mark the directorial debut of Shintaro Shimosawa, writer of The Grudge and The Following.
The movie will tell the story of a young up-and-coming lawyer (played by Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens) who takes a case against the ruthless executive of a pharmaceutical company. As he investigates into the case though, he finds himself in the midst of a murder mystery where he is the prime suspect.
Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs) is being eyed for the role of the pharmaceutical executive at odds with the lawyer, while Pacino (The Godfather, Scarface) is to portray the head of the law firm as well as Stevens’s mentor.
The film is also slated to star the talents of Swedish model and actress Malin Akerman portraying the young lawyer’s girlfriend and G.I. Joe’s Byung-hun Lee as the hitman pursuing him. Producing the film is Jonathan Sanger whose credits include The Elephant Man, Flight the Navigator, Vanilla Sky, and The Producers.
Production is slated to begin in March in New Orleans.

Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino in final negotiations to co-star in legal thriller
By Matt Wayt  A.V.Club
Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino may finally star in a film together: Both actors are in final negotiations to headline a legal thriller called Beyond Deceit, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Also in negotiations for leading roles in the film are Dan Stevens (The Guest), Malin Akerman (Watchmen), and Byung-hun Lee (I Saw The Devil).
The film tells the story of an ambitious lawyer (Stevens) who takes a case against a ruthless executive of a pharmaceutical company (Hopkins) but somehow finds himself the prime suspect in a murder case. Pacino would play the head of the law firm and a mentor to the young lawyer.
It’s not clear from the synopsis if Hopkins and Pacino would actually share any scenes—though maybe they could meet for coffee at the film’s halfway point, as Pacino is wont to do with fellow screen legends. But we like the sound of Hopkins playing someone ruthless again, as it’s been a while since the actor has eaten someone alive, metaphorically or otherwise.
Beyond Deceit will mark the directorial debut of screenwriter Shintaro Shimosawa, who has myriad writing credits on TV shows like Intelligence, The Following, and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, indicating that he knows his way around a procedural. Shimosawa rewrote the film’s original script by Adam Mason and Simon Boyes, perhaps to add the Beyond part of the story. Really, if you think Hopkins and Pacino are going to merge their talents on a project that’s only about regular deceit, you clearly don’t belong in Hollywood.

Very happy that Byung Hun-ssi is cast with great actors such as Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino in “Beyond Deceit”.  Glad Dan Stevens is also cast in this movie because he is sorely missed as Matthew Crawley in “Downton Abbey.”  Hope BH’s role as a hit man would be substantial.

 Look forward to this movie.

^ It seems that BH Entertainment's indication last year is turning out true and it's not GI Joe 3 or the usual blockbuster fare. Though still presumably playing the bad guy, it's a step up in a legal thriller with Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino, not the usual action feature seen so many times. It'll be his second time working with Sir Anthony Hopkins, their characters might be more connected to each other compared to RED2. Looks like he is slowly moving away from the popcorn flick action-busters and onto a more serious intense script.
With filming to start in March in NOLA, we'll hope what we hope he will do for his wife before the baby comes, and be home for the delivery in April.

Pacino, Hopkins & More Are BEYOND DECEIT For Legal Thriller
by Craig Hunter ScreenRelish
Screenwriter Shintaro Shimosawa has bagged an impressive batch of actors to feature in his directorial debut. Having largely made his career writing and producing hit series’ THE FOLLOWING and RINGER, as well as American horror remakes THE GRUDGE and THE GRUDGE 2, Shimosawa moves behind the camera for legal thriller BEYOND DECEIT.
Oscar-winning screen icons Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins are to star alongside each other for the first in a film centring on an ambitious young lawyer whose decision to take a case against a pharmaceutical company’s ruthless exec comes at a cost when finding himself framed for murder.
THE GUEST’s Dan Stevens is the unlucky hotshot lawyer with Pacino playing his mentor helping him go up against Hopkins’ medical chief. WATCHMEN’s Malin Akerman is likely to be the love-interest with international action star Byung-hun Lee, soon to be seen in TERMINATOR: GENISYS, as a professional hitman hired to make sure things go according to plan for the money men.

Lee Byung Hun files a pardon on behalf for Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee
Source: Koreaboo
It has been reported that actor Lee Byung Hun has requested a pardon on behalf of Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee, his blackmailers that were sentenced to prison by the courts in early January.
According to BH Entertainment on February 13th to TV Report, “Lee Byung Hun has submitted an application to the courts. It seems like the opposite party has been requesting for a settlement all this time. Whether he was right or wrong aside, as a public figure, Lee Byung Hun has been reflecting upon his mistakes. That is why this application [for a lesser punishment/leniency] has been issued because it was something Lee Byung Hun himself wanted. From this moment forward, we will just have to wait to see the trial outcome.”
Lee Byung Hun has submitted an application to the courts requesting that the punishment be held off for an amicable settlement between the two parties, in retrospect, asking the courts for leniency on Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee.
Model Lee Ji Yeon was sentenced to a year and two months of prison, while Dahee was sentenced to a year in jail. The two were caught conspiring to blackmail Lee Byung Hun after they had secretly recorded the actor in a sexually suggestive conversation with them, asking for nearly $5 million dollars in exchange for the video.
Currently, Lee Byung Hun is in the U.S with his wife Lee Min Jung, who is expected to deliver their first child in April. In addition, several films starring the actor is set to be released this year, including the highly anticipated fifth film in the Terminator series.

South Korean actor Lee Byung-hun, 44, who was embroiled in a blackmail scandal last year, submitted a request Friday asking the court to hold off punishment on the two convicted women involved in the scandal.
His agency, BH Entertainment, told Yonhap Lee sent the request through an attorney.
BH said Lee is repenting for his own mistakes and is doing his best for his family.
The women, Lee Ji-yeon, 24, and Da-hee, 20, were handed prison sentences by Seoul Central District Court last month for threatening to release a video of a sexually suggestive conversation held at the actor’s home.
Lee Byung-hun reported the women to police last August after they demanded $5 million in exchange for the video.
The actor is currently in the U.S. with his pregnant wife, actress Lee Min-jung, who is expected to deliver in April.
