Song Seung Heon And f(x)’s Krystal’s New Drama Holds First Script Reading With Full Cast

 

 

OCN original drama “Player” has released stills from its first script reading, as well as a behind-the-scenes video!

 

“Player” is a caper drama about an elite team of four criminals who join forces to pull off the ultimate heist. Song Seung Heon will star as the talented con artist Kang Ha Ri, while f(x)’s Krystal will be playing Cha Ah Ryung, the country’s top driver. Lee Si Eon will play the role of brilliant hacker Lim Byung Min, and Tae Won Suk will round out the team as the top-notch fighter Do Jin Woong.

 

 

The four actors, along with director Go Jae Hyun and writer Shin Jae Hyung, were joined by Kim Won Hae, Lee Hwang Ui, Ahn Se Ho, Lee Hwa Ryong, Kim Sung Cheol, Kim Hyung Mok, Kim Seo Kyung, and Jin Mo for the drama’s first script reading.

 

 

Song Seung Heon, who made his return to an OCN original drama after a year, made the atmosphere of the room warm, in line with his role in as a leader in “Player.” He expressed his expectations for the drama and hoped he could help make it successful. As the actors began the script reading, Song Seung Heon began to fall into his character as Kang Ha Ri with his sly acting.

Afterwards, Krystal showed off her character’s girl crush-like charms as she too entered into the script reading with passion.

 

She previously displayed impressive skills with her motorcycle riding in a teaser for the drama. She was filled with charisma as she recited, “Players, let us find the illegal fortunes together!”

 

 

Lee Si Eon made the room burst into laughter constantly with his acting as the hacking master Lim Byung Min. He was the mood maker that day, adding hilarious adlibs into his lines. Tae Won Suk also took in his character of Do Jin Woong, a fighter that can’t be stopped once he gets mad, but also has a cute side to his personality.

 

The production staff stated, “As the actors made the characteristics of their individual characters come alive, they made the mood at the script reading incredibly refreshing through their great chemistry, and it was as if we were really on set. This realistic acting remains intact at the shooting sets as well. Please look forward to the first episode of ‘Player,’ which will showcase the character’s unique personalities, a strong storyline, and flashy action scenes.”

 

 

The drama also released a behind-the-scenes video of the cast at the script reading. In the video, Song Seung Heon introduces the plot of the drama and describes it as being a “refreshing action drama.” He introduces his character as the leader of the 4-member criminal gang, and dives into how his character becomes a con artist. Krystal also talks about how her character comes to learn many skills as she grows up, but driving is the one she really excels at. Her life begins to change as she meets Song Seung Heon’s character.

 

Later, Lee Si Eon expresses his pride at playing a genius hacker character, and reveals that he had always wanted to play a genius character. He remarks that viewers will be able to know more about his character once they watch the drama. Tae Won Suk too brings an explosive energy to the script reading set, and the cast members’ chemistry can be clearly seen as they joke around and exchange witty lines with each other.

 

Song Seung Heon finally expresses his wishes to make a great work with “Player” and raises his fist up as he says an encouraging “Fighting!”

In a newly released preview for OCN’s caper drama “Player,” Song Seung Heon and f(x)’s Krystal go on the run in style!

 

On August 31, the upcoming heist drama revealed its main teaser clip, along with the stylish main posters of its four leads.

 

Song Seung Heon will be starring as the slick con artist Kang Ha Ri, who heads an elite team of four criminals that join forces to steal dirty money obtained through illegal means. f(x)’s Krystal will star as Cha Ah Ryung, a talented driver who grew up on the streets, while Lee Si Eon will play the brilliant hacker Lim Byung Min. Tae Won Suk, who brandishes a large dumbbell in one of the posters, will round out the team as the top-notch fighter Do Jin Woong.

 

The teaser clip kicks off with the team relaxing by the pool of a luxurious house, before Kang Ha Ri arrives triumphantly with a bag of cash. However, their celebration is short-lived, as a pair of security guards arrives on the scene shortly afterwards.

 

With the incredibly strong Do Jin Woong holding off the two security guards all by himself, the three other teammates make a cool and collected exit as the voice-over announces, “The guys who mess around above the heads of the rich have arrived. Money, steal, action—’Player.'”

 

The team then reunites in the car, where Lim Byung Min notices the wine glass in Kang Ha Ri’s hand and asks in surprise, “Hey, Ha Ri, where did you get that from?” An unfazed Kang Ha Ri replies, “It’s what I was drinking earlier,” before telling Cha Ah Ryung with a smile, “Go, go, go!” Cha Ah Ryung responds with a smile of her own, “We’re taking off!”

 

The producers of “Player” remarked, “When the four players gather in one spot, they naturally create a fun atmosphere. Thanks to the chemistry between Song Seung Heon, Jung Soo Jung [Krystal’s given name], Lee Si Eon, and Tae Won Suk, we were able to create cool images.”

 

They continued, “We ask that you show a lot of interest and support for the players, who will portray a refreshing story with a twist.”

Hi ssh king, I couldn't agree with you more - This is NICE because SSH gets to play a new character in a genre that he hasn't done before. So, everything is new and exciting here for him. As what he said when he was interviewed before that his character in the drama pretends he’s fine and strong on the outside, but on the inside, he’s hurting on his own and full of care. He said that those sides are similar to him in real life. The drama is coming to DramaFever! The series will have only 14 episodes. It's nearing........can't wait for September 29. I'm excited to see Song Seung Hun back on my small screen again.

Synopsis

 

Kang Ha Ri (Song Seung Hun, My Princess) is a veteran conman. Born into a family of hustlers, he lives life and attempts heists with no fear. His devastating good looks are matched only by his silky smooth speech. There is no trouble he can’t talk his way out of.

 

Cha Ah Ryung (Krystal Jung, f(x), The Bride of The Water God) was abandoned as a child. As a result, she grew up to be tough as nails, but still strangely insecure. She is an expert driver who can craft a getaway out of thin air.

 

Im Byung Min (Lee Shi Un, High End Crush) is a hacker. There is no system he can’t break and no security he can’t bypass. When it comes to the world of high-tech obstacles, he is the man every criminal fears. Do Jin Woong (Tae Won Suk, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo) is an expert fighter. When driving is not an option, smooth talking doesn’t work, and hacking isn’t available, that's when Do Jin Woong gets busy. He is a one-man wrecking machine.

 

Together, these four retrieval experts find things that criminals have hidden away. But when the game involves this much money and danger, even the players are at risk to get played.

He has another building in Seocho & was valued at 10.7 billion won. Six years ago (2012) he paid 11.4 billion won for the five-story 1,311-square-meter building. It has been reported that he's one as the celebrity owning the most expensive buildings in Seoul.
