Yoo Ah In Courted As Crown Prince Sado For Movie “Sado”

News just broke this afternoon that Yoo Ah In is courted to frontline the new period/sageuk movie Sado or 사도 (working title). Film distributor Showbox stated on the 30th, “We proposed Yoo Ah In to take on the role of The Crown Prince Sado. At the moment Yoo Ah In is reviewing the script with positive consideration.”

The story of Sado is based on the famous history of Crown Prince Sado and King Yeong Jo of Joseon. History indicates Sado suffered from mental illness, accused of randomly killing people in the palace and being a serial rapist. King Yeongjo issued a royal decree that ordered Sado climb into and be sealed within a large wooden rice chest on a hot July day in 1762. After eight days, Sado died of suffocation.

Yoo Ah In took charge in directing the photoshoot of Jung Yumi with unconventional and shocking hairstyles, makeup and poses, and transformed her into the Tom Paper’s protagonist.
