Singer Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) was selected as the model for ‘Shrimp Cracker" by Nongshim.

Sublime Artist Agency announced in a press release on June 4th that RAIN was selected as a model of a snack shrimp cracker.

"I think it was made with the interest of many people, so it is more meaningful. The advertisement to be released soon will also be filmed by Rain with the public," agency representative said.

Nongshim also announced that it had selected Rain as a new advertising model for shrimp cracker. Nongshim plans to open the 'Shrimp Kook People's Challenge' and put a parody video of the netizens in the advertisement with Rain. 비, '새우깡' 모델 발탁 …'1일 3깡' 현실로[공식]
 

[스포티비뉴스=정유진 기자] 가수 비(정지훈)가 농심 ‘새우깡’ 모델로 발탁됐다.

 

비 매니지먼트를 담당하고 있는 써브라임 아티스트 에이전시는 4일 보도자료를 통해 "비가 1971년 출시된 스낵 새우깡의 모델로 발탁됐다"고 알렸다.

 

비 측은 "많은 분들의 관심으로 이루어진 일이라고 생각되어 더욱 뜻 깊다. 앞으로 공개될 광고 역시, 비와 대중들이 함께 만들어 나갈 예정이다"라고 전했다.

 

농심 측 역시 이날 비를 새우깡 새 광고 모델로 발탁했다고 밝혔다. 농심은 '새우깡 대국민 챌린지'를 열고 누리꾼이 응모한 패러디 영상을 비와 함께 광고에 담을 계획이다. 농심 관계자는 "소비자와의 활발한 소통을 위해 새우깡 광고 모델로 비를 선정하게 됐다"며 "1일1깡 열풍과 함께 새우깡도 큰 사랑을 받기를 바란다"고 말했다.

 

'깡'은 비가 지난 2017년 발매한 '마이 라이프 애' 타이틀곡이다. 비가 깡 뮤직비디오에서 선보인 춤과 강렬한 가사가 뒤늦게 누리꾼 사이에서 화제가 됐다. 중독성이 강해서 하루에 세 번 뮤직비디오를 봐야 한다는 의미로 '1일 3깡'이라는 신조어까지 등장, 현재 유튜브 공식 뮤직비디오 조회 수는 1289만을 넘어섰다. 이번 광고 모델 선정은 누리꾼 요청으로 이뤄졌다. 실제로 깡 뮤직비디오엔 비를 'OO깡' 이름의 과자 모델로 섭외해달라는 댓글이 이어졌기 때문이다.

Singer-actor Rain lands deal to model for popular shrimp chips

 

Singer-actor Rain, also known as Jung Ji-hoon, will model in a commercial for Nongshim's popular snack Saewookkang or “shrimp-flavored cracker.”
 
The contract was signed after several companies with products whose names end with the sound “gang” or “kkang” reportedly contacted Rain’s agency to have the star model, following the recent hype surrounding his song, “Gang," years after its release in 2017.
 
“A lot of netizens wanted us to ask Rain to see if he could model for the product,” Nongshim said in a statement Thursday.

The commercial will be a collaboration between Rain and consumers of the product, who can participate by sending in their own videos of themselves copying the moves in the "Gang" music video. 
 
A high school girl uploaded a dance cover of “Gang” on her YouTube channel last November, imitating Rain’s original choreography while dressed in costume. Others copied her video, giving birth to memes that poke fun at the narcissistic lyrics of the song and out-of-style dance moves.

The newfound popularity led to the music video of "Gang” garnering over 12.9 million views on YouTube as of Thursday as well as more than 100,000 comments.
 
Rain took the jokes at his expense in stride and recently said on TV that he has fun reading the comments about his video.
 
“Rain modeling for Saewookkang was something that a lot of people wanted to see happen,” said Rain’s agency Sublime Artist Agency. “We’re happy that it’s actually happening.”

Bi Rain donates all advertising remunerations to support disadvantaged women

 

 

Bi Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) will support the disadvantaged women who are facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After becoming a promotional ambassador for a jeans brand's Fall-Winter products through a press release on May 3, Bi Rain announced a heart-warming donation activity.

All remunerations from the male artist's promotional activities in the aforementioned brand's collections and global collaborative products will be used to support the purchase of sanitary napkins for disadvantaged women in the society.

Bi Rain's agency, Sublime Artist Agency, said, "It fans that make the 'Gang' sensation become a hot topic recently. So in response to that, Bi Rain decided to donate all his remunerations from the first advertisement of this denim brand. Bi Rain's donation will be used to support sanitary napkins for disadvantaged women who encounter difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic."

스튜디오 룰루랄라 측은 5일 “현재 비와 함께 신규채널에 대한 세부논의를 이어가고 있으며, 7월 중 오픈을 목표로 하고 있다”고 전했다. 정식 오픈에 앞서 온라인상에서 유저들과 소통하며 콘텐트에 대한 아이디어를 얻겠다는 계획도 가지고 있다.

 

신규 콘텐트 기획을 맡은 김학준 CP는 “최근 ‘깡’으로 다시 한번 전성기를 되찾은 비와 함께 하게 돼 기대가 크다”며 “요즘 온라인상에서 비를 억압하는 ‘시무 20조’가 돌고 있는데, 이에 얽매이지 않고 비의 매력을 고스란히 보여줄 수 있는 콘텐트를 만들어갈 예정”이라고 포부를 전했다.
