*** RAIN and young song writer and singer Park Moonchi. She's part of CSVC, a four-member project girl group. They debuted last year. She showed her remix songs in the last episode of Hang out with Yoo. RAIN created some very nice dance moves with her first remix song. He is hoping for more breakdown moves when she goes on to the next remix.

Return of superstars, in different personas

Singers Rain, Lee Hyo-ri return in new trio

“Hi, we’re Ssak 3!” said Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Hyo-ri and Rain, as they introduced themselves in the way such groups commonly did in the ‘90s.

On the latest episode of MBC’s “Hangout With Yoo” on Saturday, the trio announced the name of the group as well as their individual characters, along with plans to release their song in July.

The appearance of the three celebrities saw the show hit the highest viewership rating out of all Saturday entertainment program at 9.6 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.

The popularity of the trio could be felt even before Saturday’s episode aired.

Despite the three having just announced the surprise live broadcast on YouTube on Friday afternoon, over 96,000 people joined them online to suggest names for the group and its members.

The group unanimously settled on “Ssak 3,” meaning “clean sweep” in Korean, as the group’s name, demonstrating its resolve to sweep through the music scene this summer.

Yoo took on Yooduragon while Rain took the name B-Dragon. Lee took on the name Linda G, derived from the Korean word “jirinda,” meaning “to wet one’s pants.”

On Saturday, Lee and Rain, two of Korea’s biggest celebrities all-time, demonstrated why they are unquestioned superstars.

Rain is enjoying renewed fame, originating from the belated success of his 2017 music video for “Gang.” “Gang” has gained renewed interest among young people, who first mocked the dance moves as old school but ended up enjoying the video for the witty comments posted about the video.

After appearing on “Hangout With Yoo,” Rain signed an advertisement deal for Nongshim’s shrimp crackers, the Korean snack classic whose name “Saeuggang” sounds like Rain’s song. Rain was also chosen as to represent Levi Strauss Korea following his renewed fame. In addition, the H1ghr Music label’s remix of Rain’s hit song, which features the singer as a dancer in the music video, has been topping music charts in Korea since its release. He also hinted at opening his own YouTube channel in July after appearing on popular YouTube channel “Workman.”

Lee has been a superstar since her 1998 debut as the leader of girl group Fin.K.L. When she set off on a solo career after 2003, Lee instantly became an icon and the products she advertised, including soju, cellphones and jeans, saw significant spikes in sales, giving rise to the expression of the “Hyo-ri effect.”

Since her marriage in 2013 to a singer, she has been living on Jeju Island, appearing on TV with a new image that is calm and nature-loving. However, the superstar says now she is back in “Hangout With Yoo” with her straightforward, no-holds-barred style and unfazed sense of humor.

Advertisers are already showing interest in Lee’s return. When she announced on the program that she wanted to model for sanitary pads, she quickly received products from companies courting her, she said.

Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, And Rain Take MBTI Personality Tests To Check Their Group Chemistry

f7f32b017c2644c6b0bb86638b8422f6.jpeg?s=

On the June 13 episode of MBC’s “How Do You Play?”, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, and Rain’s quest to form the co-ed dance group SSAK3 continued.

In this episode, the three members took MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) personality tests to check their group compatibility, held rap auditions, and selected songs through a blind process.

Yoo Jae Suk met with Joo Young Hoon, the ’90s-era hitmaker who produced hit songs for Turbo, SoBangCha, Sung Jin Woo, Im Sang A, Koyote, and Uhm Jung Hwa. Yoo Jae Suk said, “You have to join our project. You have to pick our group concept for us.”

Joo Young Hoon replied, “If you’re going to recreate the ’90s summer sound, the music has to be bright. I spend a lot of time working on the introduction. The people listening have to go ‘ohh’ as soon as they hear the introduction.”

He picked his favorite tempo as 130-140 BPM (beats per minute) and said, “This tempo makes people excited.”

Before SSAK3 could pick a new song, however, “How Do You Play?” PD Kim Tae Ho asked the members to take MBTI personality tests. The MBTI categorizes personalities based on whether they favor extraversion/introversion (E/I), sensing/intuition (S/N), thinking/feeling (T/F), and judging/perceiving (J/P). Rain got ESFP, Lee Hyori got ENFP, and Yoo Jae Suk got ISFP.

yoo-jae-suk-lee-hyori-rain2.jpg

According to their results, Yoo Jae Suk was told he tends to procrastinate, lacks determination, doesn’t like meeting people but plays well when he does meet them, has trouble saying no, is good at yielding to others, hates causing harm to others, has trouble saying that he doesn’t like something, and is weak in a verbal argument.

Rain was told that he tends to get lethargic if he stays too long at home, that he likes to seek and receive attention, is the type to be remembered by his fellow students and colleagues, feels bored being by himself and is always doing something, and no matter what might be on his mind, he only thinks about it for a little while before falling asleep.

Lee Hyori commented, “Kim Tae Hee must get frustrated,” but Rain said, “I control myself and do housework and childcare.”

Lee Hyori was told that she is optimistic and happy-go-lucky, is often part of the “in-crowd,” gets along with her friends and likes being with other people, isn’t afraid of forming new relationships, is good at focusing in the moment and therefore gets good results even on deadline, has a lot of emotions and expresses them easily, is ready to say what she likes or dislikes, but lacks the patience to repeat the same things day after day.

Lee Hyori joked, “If we don’t finish this soon, I might quit in the middle.”

lee-hyori-yoo-jae-suk-rain.jpg

According to the MBTI results, Lee Hyori and Yoo Jae Suk had the worst chemistry. Lee Hyori said, “We’ve always worked well together before.” Lee Hyori and Rain also had the worst chemistry, but fortunately Rain and Yoo Jae Suk’s chemistry was not.

Lee Hyori said, “If the three of us went to a deserted island, Yoo Jae Suk would sit under a palm tree and look at the sunset, Rain would call his friends and annoy everyone by starting a party, and I would start a movement to save the shark population.”

The three members then held a rap audition among themselves to see who would be the best rapper.

Finally, SSAK3 reviewed some potential songs through a “blind selection process.” The first song, “Cool 42,” was based on Lee Hyori and Rain’s joke that they could have dated when they were in their twenties. The second song was called “Summer Night,” and the third song was called “MBTI.” The fourth song was “ORE ORE,” and the fifth song was composed by the composer of one of Yoo San Seul (Yoo Jae Suk’s trot persona)’s songs.

Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori & Rain check group chemistry with personality tests

1590741525-20200529-hangoutwithyoo.jpg

Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, and Rain checked their group chemistry with personality tests.

On the June 13th episode of 'Hangout with Yoo?', the trio continued preparing to debut as a co-ed dance group, and they decided to take MBTI (Myers–Briggs Type Indicator) personality tests to check their chemistry. In the end, Yoo Jae Suk was labeled as an Adventurer (ISFP), Lee Hyori was labeled as a Campaigner (ENFP), and Rain was an Entertainer (ESFP).

According to the test, as an ISFP Yoo Jae Suk is bad at rejecting others, good at conceding, tends to dislike causing harm to others, doesn't like making negative comments, and weak at debates. As an ENFP, Lee Hyori is described as good at fitting in with others, good at concentrating in the moment, and avoidant of repetitive daily life. Lastly, Rain, who was labeled an ESFP, supposedly loves being the center of attention, gets bored being alone, and sleeps well despite any worries he may have.

After hearing Rain's personality test says he doesn't like staying at home, Lee Hyori joked, "Kim Tae Hee will be upset," and he responded, "I'm controlling myself and helping with childcare and housework."

When they calculated their chemistry, they found that they had the worst compatibility possible. Fans can still expect Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, and Rain to debut soon with Kwanghee as manager and Code Kunst as a producer.

What do you think about the personality test results?
