7 K-Dramas Where Fans Were Divided On The OTP

Yes, this feature is here to reignite wars – but peaceful and respectful ones. Love triangles in K-dramas have historically started battles between fans that have lasted years and well into today. They’ve brought out the worst in people, but also their undying love for the team that they have chosen. Here are seven K-dramas where fans were divided on the OTP.

“Boys Over Flowers” – Yoo Ji Hoo vs. Goo Jun Pyo

spacer.png

This classic K-drama is one that arguably started the idea of K-drama fan wars between the two male leads. Once upon a time, over 10 years ago, Goo Jun Pyo (Lee Min Ho) and Yoo Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong) came into Geum Jan Di’s (Ku Hye Sun) life as well as ours, and afterwards we were never really the same. Whether it was Goo Jun Pyo’s bad boy charms or Yoo Ji Hoo’s sweet and nurturing ways, it sparked fans to choose between the two and they were pretty passionate about it.

Besides K-pop, Korean series have also become a worldwide entertainment phenomenon. Netflix and Viki have streamed some dramas with Spanish subtitles for fans and beginners

What was your first drama? The South Korean phenomenon has become very popular thanks to K-pop and actors like Lee Min Ho, etc. The Asian series have become an alternative for the entertainment of the fans, these are the recommendations to see Korean dramas for beginners .

If you are only a fan of Korean idols and don't know where to start, we tell you which stories have been the most popular and which you should see for the first time.

What is a K-Drama? They are series of 10 to 20 episodes created in South Korea, sometimes starring Korean pop artists or are adaptations of webtoons .

Korean Dramas For Beginners

1.- Boys Over Flowers

You can watch it on Netflix , it stars Lee Min Ho and Goo Hye Sun. The plot centers on Jan Di, a humble young woman who, thanks to a scholarship, attends an elite school. There she will meet Gu Jun Pyo, the leader of the group known as the F4, the most outstanding and wealthy students of the school who will make her life impossible. This is a classic drama and one of the most famous worldwide.

26 Korean Dramas That Are Total Must Watches

At the 2020 Golden Globes, South Korean director Bong Joon Ho's said "once you overcome the one-inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films," and his words could not be true.

Whether you're an avid K-drama watcher, or you're looking for something new to watch, there's a K-drama for everyone. Here are 26 of my favourites!

Boys Over Flowers

spacer.png

Liked Gossip Girl? …Well then you'll love this. Boys Over Flowers is the OG of K-dramas, and if you are looking for something classic, this is the one. Geum Jan-Di is a poor girl who is given a scholarship to Shinhwa High, one of the most elite schools in South Korea. There she meets the notorious F4, a group of the richest and most powerful boys in the school, and finds herself standing up to the group's leader Goo Joon-Pyo. Joon-Pyo has never been challenged before (go figure), and when he starts developing feelings for Jan-Di (typical, but I love it) he realises that not everything can be bought with money. This drama is a Korean adaptation of the Japanese show Hana Yori Dango and it is so worth watching!

Watch it on:  Netflix, Viki
