Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung move into Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young’s former luxury home

Source: Koreaboo

Despite all the twists and turns this couple has been through within the last year, actor Lee Byung Hun and actress Lee Min Jung have recently moved into a home that was previously owned by celebrity couple Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young.

On May 19th, K STAR: Hallyu Reports revealed that Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung recently moved into the luxury homes located in Samsungdong, Seoul with their newborn son after obtaining a certified copy of their real estate registrar.

K STAR reported that the couple signed a 2.5 billion Korean Won (approximately 2.3 million U.S. Dollars) lease for the luxury villa on April 28th and have moved into the home not long after. It was also revealed that the Lee’s new home was actually previously leased by actor and actress Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young and their two young children.

A real estate specialist explained to the publication agency that, “Many celebrities favor this ‘S’ luxury villa located in Samsungdong, Seoul because of its easy-access location to the major transportation point in the city and for its impenetrable home security system.”

In response to this news, Lee Byung Hun’s agency BH Entertainment stated to different media portal, “Due to the infant care of their newborn child and also other scheduling conflicts, the couple decided to make a move to a new home. But most importantly, they chose to move [to this home location] because it is close to Lee Min Jung’s parents’ home.”

The agency, however, was unsure of whether of not the Lee’s were aware of their new home being previously tenanted by a celebrity couple, “We cannot be certain if they had prior knowledge about the home being previously lived-in by Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young while they were looking into leasing this villa.”

Actress Ko So-young ditches contract after outcry

SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Yonhap) -- Actress Ko So-young said Friday she has canceled a contract with a Japanese financial company after the firm was accused of doing business with local loan sharks.

Ko, who is married to actor Jang Dong-geon, had been modeling for J Trust Group since earlier this month. She has drawn criticism for advertising moneylenders who are notorious here for encouraging a wasteful lifestyle.

In a statement Friday, Ko expressed a "sincere apology" for sparking the controversy.

"I'd decided (to model) because I wanted to emphasize the group's brand image as one that is growing in many areas," she said. "After hearing the news, however, I realized there were things I'd overlooked.

"As an actress, wife and mother, I'll try to return the love and support I've received by becoming a responsible and mature citizen of this society," she added.

J Trust Group, meanwhile, denied ties with moneylenders.

"We have 26 subsidiaries all over Asia, but not one is doing the moneylending business we are accused of," the group said in a statement. "It's regretful that the controversy surrounds matters that aren't true, but we've decided to respect Ko's wish. The contract has been canceled without problems."

Ko nixes endorsement deal

Source: INSIDE Korea JoongAng Daily

26092852.jpg

Actress Ko So-young canceled an endorsement deal on Friday with the J Trust Group, a Japan-based financial group.

The 43-year-old actress immediately came under fire for promoting the business on Wednesday after her TV commercial aired, particularly because the group is known to give out private loans with interests rates as high as 40 percent.

Critics claimed it was inappropriate for Ko to promote a loan-sharking business as a public figure.

“I told the company to cancel the endorsement deal and the company accepted my decision,” she responded in a press release.

“Since the main concept of the TV commercial focused on the growth of the company, I thought it would be OK,” she added.

Ko started her career in 1992, and has taken a break from acting since 2007. However, over the years, she has appeared in a number of television commercials.

The actress wed actor Jang Dong-gun in 2010 and has two children with him.

The pair is often referred to as Korea’s answer to “Brangelina,” the portmanteau referring to Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Ko is reportedly reviewing a couple of scripts in preparation to return to the silver screen sometime next year.
