lauren2b2
i just finished watching 'my bittersweet seoul' and i will add it to my list of favekdramas of all times, it's not your ordinary kdrama of rich girl meets poor boy and vice versa drama with a lot of slapstick scenes from parents etc. there's still some slapstick humor but a lot of scenes and storylines are quite realistic. i see a lot of 'sex and city' influence here. is 31 years for a korean woman considered spinster age or unmarrigeable? i remember carrie in 'sex and the city' telling someone that she considers 43 as her threshold age. if she isn't married by 43 then she's fated not to get married and have a child. but 31 is still relatively young, that's the age where you go up the company ladder, the age you start building your career. re: tae oh, i can't understand why she was so hung up on him for quite awhile after they broke up, their relationship was not based originally on true love and feelings but on lust. so how can it last? ys doesn't know much about his background, his character. the relationship between a relatively older woman and a young man will only last if they truly love each other and in th eprocess forget that she is more successful than him, earns more than him and most importantly willing to wait for him to make his mark and became a success. if he becomes a success at 31, then she'll be 38. by that time, he may have outgrown her, his values and taste may have changed , he was not the same man as he was at 24, there's still a lot of people an dplaces to see. it's really very tricky for that kind of relationship to last, the older at her age has set minds and quirks and may find it hard to adjust to her younger partners ways. for that kind of age gap to really last and mature, the bond , ties, and feelings must be really strong. lauren2b2
about the ost, there was this song playing 'beautiful girl' sung in the background as they were having drinks after performance of madame nam. it was composed by jose mari chan . it was so apt for the 3girls, feeling beautiful, at peace and with their self esteem at an all time high. i just can't understand that why the 3 of them(best friends and all) would bicker, make biting comments and literally embarrass each other in front of their dates etc. etc. are korean women like that in real life? jo_ajero
I love the story.Although it could have done without the extended 'mystery' plot of young soo in the end. The girl and Yung soo has similar personality rather than the first guy. I think in the end that was the thing that really binded their relationship. Another important factor was the girls fertility clock ticking away. The younger guy couldnt pormise her the stability and family life she wanted. In the end its not just love that matters, more important is TIMING. TIMING is everything.

TIMING is everything. i agree with you, the mystery plot of young soo sort of distracted the main theme of 'my sweet seoul'. it could have really gotten away with the young soo mystery. it should have just focused on es, this is is about the lives of 30omething women in korea and the kind of pressures they face. Guest kdramafanusa
Source: Official Site of Korea Tourism Org.: My Sweet Seoul Filming Location Tours Home >Things to See&Do >Themed Tours >Filming Location Tours Based on a novel of the same name, the Korean drama My Sweet Seoul was highly acclaimed and said to be even better than the original book. This was because when making the drama the producers concentrated on its quality, and refused to be swayed by audience ratings and trends. The drama vividly portrays the life of a single woman in her thirties. Although this is not an unusual backdrop, the drama succeeded in drawing a large audience of women in their 20s and 30s, because of its exciting romantic story. The drama also had a wonderful OST. ● Drama Information Broadcasting Station: SBS Aired:June 6, 2008~August 1, 2008 Director:Park Heung-sik Cast:Choi Kang-hee, Lee Seon-gyoon, Ji Hyeon-woo Website: http://tv.sbs.co.kr/sweetseoul (Korean) Synopsis Eun-soo is 31 years old and works as a manager in an editing firm. berny
A MOST BEAUTIFUL TV SERIES I guess many were disappointed with the ending, but I think the ending was OK (atleast nobody died in the end). YS was still trapped in the past, so he needed time to be free of the guilt. ES also needed time to accept this part of him...so they had to live apart for awhile..for healing to take place for both. YS wanted to start anew as TK and deep inside he really wants ES to accept him as TK. And so when they were both ready, they met again to have a new start, a second chance...It is really bitter sweet...but sweet nonetheless. THIS IS REALLY A VERY GOOD DRAMA SERIES, it is a real "feel good" treat, it's funny, light, realistic, and really wonderful. (Eventhough I just recently discovered it). Let's remember their happy moments
berny
THE UNFORGETTABLE CHARACTERS Choi Kang Hee (Eun Soo) SPOT THE DIFFERENCE Many didn't like her for the role, but I think she was perfect for it. It was intended that viewers feel off because of her character's indecisiveness and being fickle, and so they did dislike her, meaning CHK is a very good actress to create that effect. As Eun Soo she had to look way too old than her real age (well with that hairstyle) but still she shone as a trendsetter of her own brand of unique fashion. For real she is indeed a model and a fashion icon. Lee Sun Gyun (Young Soo / Tae Kyung) The Real Love Mr. Handsome! Very intense. His voice ....His smile can melt any girl right on the spot. Actually I'm still melting. He has that funny smirk, and the sweetest smile. A very good actor and a great singer too. Now I'm one of his avid fans. Ji Hyun Woo ( Tae Oh) The Cute Boyfriend JHW is really boyisly cute and sweet. He has his funny ways that is so endearing. He also sings well and great with the guitar. Kim Young Jae (Yoo Joon) The Best Friend KYJ was the very dear bestfriend and soulmate. He has his sweet ways too. Very dependable and always there to listen and give advice.
