  1. @phoenix24 No, I have not seen that before... it is new to me
  2. Joseon Survival with English subtitle is available on ODK (On demand Korea), a Korean program platform very much similar to Viu and Viki. The site has English subtitle for both episodes 1 and 2
  3. @Lawyerh @nohamahamoud2002 @phoenix24 @gm4queen @Heidi Seow Hello and thank you for the updates everyone... Honestly, he looks really good these days in all the pictures... he looks younger and his face does not show fatigue and stress that he normally gets when filming... whatever beauty regimen or what not he's in is doing its magic I know that Joseon Survival premiered this weekend... I have not seen it yet because real life was getting in the way of my k-drama watching life .. I did a quick search of my subscriptions to Viki and Viu to see if the drama is available thru them but yielded zero result. I was pretty disappointed about it. This morning though was a lucky day... found out that the drama is available with English subtitle on ODK (On Demand Korea), a Korean program platform very much similar to subscription sites like Viki, Viu, and Netflix. I do not have subscription to ODK so I have to deal with the advertisements but I am very much motivated to sign up for a subscription ...hehehe...btw ODK has a roku app so you can watch it on your smart tv fanart:
  4. Three’s a crowd in time-traveling sageuk comedy Joseon Survival Guide by tipsymocha Oh, so it’s not just one time-traveler but three? Interesting, since I feel like time travelers tend to go solo in dramaland. TV Chosun is churning out the promos for their upcoming fantasy-comedy-sageuk Joseon Survival Guide, and has released a new teaser featuring leads Kang Ji-hwan (Happy to Die), Song Won-seok (Switch), Kyung Su-jin (Meloholic), Park Se-wan (Dance Sports Girls), and Lee Jae-yoon (Mother). This latest teaser starts with Kang Ji-hwan and Song Won-seok’s characters hiding among the trees as they’re chased by masked men on horses. The teaser caption reads, “A cold reality you cannot escape from,” and then we see shots of Kang Ji-hwan in his prime as a professional archer, and then as a deliveryman. Offscreen, his sister says that no matter how hard they try to rise even one step above, they will never be able to. Lee Jae-yoon, who sounds like a pretty cookie-cutter villain, menacingly says that Kang Ji-hwan only needs to do “what is given to him,” or basically take orders from above like a good little underling. Lee Jae-yoon is engaged to marry Kyung Su-jin, who has a history with Kang Ji-hwan’s character. She stops Kang Ji-hwan as he dejectedly walks away from her, dressed in a fancy gown, and asks whether he has nothing to say to her. So, it looks like Kang Ji-hwan will be joined in his Joseon exploits by Park Se-wan and Kyung Su-jin, and I’ll be interested to see exactly how and why these three are transported back in time (if there even is a reason). A man offscreen notes their odd clothing and behavior, as Park Se-wan wonders if they’ve really been dropped into a different world. I’m looking forward to Park Se-wan and Song Won-seok’s potential loveline, since they look really cute in the two seconds of them we see in this teaser. The teaser ends with Kang Ji-hwan using his archery skills and saying that they’ll have to “face it,” presumably referring to their survival and efforts to return to their own time. Joseon Survival Guide will premiere next Saturday, June 8. source: dramabeans

  6. @Leila Pan Hello Ivy...welcome to Ji Hwan thread Hi @phoenix24 @nohamahamoud2002 thanks for posting the drama poster, it looks good @Lawyerh thanks for posting the new trailer and stills ...cannot wait for the drama to start airing... 10 days to go...
  7. @Lawyerh Yes, that's the one...I didn't watch Faith so I am not really sure how that drama went....just saw some snippets here and there while it was airing... like you, I am not sure how it would have turned out either if Kang Ji Hwan played the lead... I am not a fan of sageuk also but don.t mind fusion sageuk especially if it is infused with comedy and romance like Hong Gil Dong … Faith (aka The Great Doctor) was more like a fusion sageuk and fantasy/medical genre
  8. Oh, no... I did not take any offense it’s really true that I tend to forget very easily since I was little... hehehe anyways, posting another fanart:
  9. @nohamahamoud2002 my apologies... forgot that it was posted fairly recently...... sometimes my brain is like that of a goldfish's because I tend to forget a lot of stuff quite often... hehehe I think the video above is part of a Japanese video travel guide dvd that Ji Hwan filmed a few years ago and was released for sale for the Japanese fanbase...unfortunately, no English subtitle... this reminds me that in all of my travels to Korea, I have never set foot in Jeju-do...
  10. @nohamahamoud2002 that explains the weight loss...anyhow, he looks good in the current photos; his face looks younger albeit a little skinny than usual Stumbled upon this Great Doctor trailer (I have almost forgotten that Ji Hwan was once up for the lead role in this drama) which, unfortunately, Ji Hwan had to drop out of due to management agency dispute. It makes me wonder though how good it would have been if he played the lead role in it... I guess we will never know.... I think the overall tone of the trailer was a lot darker and grander in scale compared to how the drama turned out... I think part of that was due to budget constraint that the drama suffered during its production. and persisted months after its completion...
  11. Hello everyone... hope everybody's doing good...16 days until Joseon Survival premieres and I can't wait....so excited to see Ji Hwan in another drama. @Lawyerh @nohamahamoud2002 thank you for posting the drama trailer and photos...he looks really good in those photos BTW
  12. Kang Ji-hwan creates a Joseon Survival Guide in TV Chosun’s action comedy by Tipsymocha This looks super wacky, which I’m hoping is a good thing at the end of the day. TV Chosun has a new drama on the way called Joseon Survival Guide, which has released a teaser featuring Kang Ji-hwan (Happy to Die), Song Won-seok (Switch), Kyung Su-jin (Meloholic), Park Se-wan (Dance Sports Girls), and Lee Jae-yoon (Mother). I love Kang Ji-hwan in comedy, and I hope this show gives him some good material to work with. In Joseon Survival Guide, Kang Ji-hwan plays a former archer who used to be a member of the national team, but for some reason is now working as a delivery man. His character finds himself flown into the Joseon period, where he encounters Song Won-seok’s character, who is treated like he’s less than human in his era. Together, they will achieve “miracles” in the action comedy, though it’s not clear what that means precisely. While Kang Ji-hwan is the one to time-travel into the past in the show, in the teaser, he’s the one dressed in Joseon garb while Song Won-seok looks sleek in a suit and sunglasses. Their posse confronts a group of armed soldiers in the lobby of a modern office building and start fighting, not knowing that they’re being watched by Lee Jae-yoon through multiple cameras. He strikes a menacing pose, though it would be more intimidating if he weren’t sipping what looks like a glass of orange juice. Kyung Su-jin and Park Se-wan, both sporting hanbok, sit behind him. From her outfit, it looks like Kyung Su-jin will be playing a nurse in Joseon, and she asks Lee Jae-yoon in exasperation how long they have to keep watching “this show.” Lee Jae-yoon responds that it’ll be over soon, though it might not be in his favor, seeing as how Kang Ji-hwan’s made it all the way up the elevator. Joseon Survival Guide is directed by PD Jang Yong-woo, whose credits include JTBC’s D-Day. Writing is Kim Sol-ji, who also wrote JTBC’s Syndrome and MBC’s Heading to the Ground. These credits don’t exactly inspire a whole lot of confidence, but maybe they’ll surprise us here. I sincerely hope so, because time-travel lends itself so well to comedy. TV Chosun’s Joseon Survival Guide will premiere on June 8. source : dramabeans

  14. hello everyone! @Lawyerh I hope it does...he has a solid fanbase in Japan
  15. @Lawyerh Ahhh...yes, I remember now... the one in the picture that you posted is Luxury... and yes, Yi Nok was Yuri's gift to Ji Hwan when he celebrated his birthday after HGD finished airing... Yes, it is not often that we see actors work together in more than one project. Ji Hwan and Yuri has a good chemistry and rapport. Ji hwan also worked with Kim Ha Neul (My GF is an Agent and 90 Days, Time for Love) and Oh Yoon Ah ( Incarnation of Money and Real Men 300) on 2 projects each. I am waiting for a Kang Ji Hwan - Yoon Eun Hye reunion but that may just be wishful thinking on my part
