International entertainer Rain (비, a.k.a. Jung Ji Hoon) celebrated his 13th anniversary in show business recently. Seems like only yesterday he was being introduced as a JYPE dancer on Korean TV (2001), anddebuting as a singer with his first album n001 (2002) and song "Bad Guy." His acting career started almost immediately with TV sitcoms and Banjun dramas, and it has been tightly entwined with his other talents every step of the way since. He wasn't a singer who acted or an actor who sang, but a bona fide singer, actor, and dancer in equal measure. 

 

 

I got to thinking the other day, Man, that's a lot of leading ladies! How many more would there be if not for his albums, concert tours, and the military? Let's take a look at these talented actresses and what they're doing now. Please point out your favorites!

[INTERVIEW] Song Hye Kyo Reveals Her Beauty Secrets In Achieving A Healthy Glow

Korean superstar Song Hye Kyo is known for her healthy, flawless skin that glows naturally. You may think that it is attributed to all the makeup she’s wearing. However, in a recent interview with the star herself, she reveals that makeup does very little in helping her achieve that natural, healthy glow. “Makeup can only enhance one’s natural beauty. You can’t only rely on makeup to make you beautiful,” said Song.

To attain that healthy glow, Song advises women to lead a healthy lifestyle, which includes eating right, exercising and getting enough sleep. Freshly cooked food, vegetables and fruits should be consumed regularly, and each person should drink at least 1.5 litres of water daily. Fast food and soft drinks should be avoided as they are detrimental to health and could affect the skin. Song also practices stretching exercises right after dinner. Apart from that, she hits the gym at least four times a week to stay in shape.

When asked about her skincare regime, Song said using Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask twice a week helps her relax and get into a deep sleep effortlessly. Besides containing aroma-therapeutic properties to help relax the mind and body, the Water Sleeping Mask also hydrates, restores and repairs the skin. These key factors ensure that the skin stays youthful and rejuvenated. “I wake up in the morning with radiant skin and also feeling refreshed from a deep night’s sleep,” said Song.

With that being said, applying sunscreen to protect the skin from harmful UV rays and premature ageing is also vital.

We can all look up to Song Hye Kyo for her perfect complexion, even with very light makeup on. Maybe this would help us change our skincare habits and strive for better, more radiant skin!

Laneige Water Camp 2014

Back in May, we were invited to Laneige’s Water Camp that was held in Port Dickson and for two days, we were totally immersed in the pursuit of perfectly moisturised skin. The main purpose of the camp was to introduce three brand new products from the Korean brand, namely the new Water Bank series, Brightening Sparkling Water and Water Drop Tint Series. Along the way, we were treated to a relaxing pampering session at Avillion’s AviSpa where we experienced the products and an amazing stay at Avillion Port Dickson. Find out what went down at this splashing retreat where work and play all collided into one!

11am: Arrive at Avillion Port Dickson

11.20am: Product Presentation

At the product presentation we learned about the new Water Bank series by Laneige and how this new range unlocks your skin’s ability to revive four dormant genes as well as activates your moiturising genes. Don’t let the science lingo put you off, the texture of this range is light and absorbs easily into skin. The all new Water Bank series has the following products to help you achieve hydrated skin – Water Bank Essence EX, Water Bank Gel Cream EX, Water Bank Moisture Cream EX, Water Bank Eye Gel and Water Bank Double Gel Soothing Mask.

Next, members of the press were introduced to the current Korean beauty trend of sparkling water which Laneige cleverly incorporated into their new Brightening Sparkling Water range. This range unearths the benefits of sparkling water in combating tired and dull skin by stimulating blood circulation and promoting the turnover of dead skin cells. This range consists of the Brightening Sparkling Whipping Cleanser, Brightening Sparkling Water Capsule Mist, Brightening Sparkling Water Pop Essence and Brightening Sparkling Peeling Mask.

The highlight of this water camp was definitely the pampering session that was held at Avillion’s gorgeous AviSpa where we got to try the amazing new products by Laneige. We started with a thorough oil cleansing followed by the Brightening Sparkling Whipping Cleanser which has a dense foam texture that will eventually turn transparent as you massage it onto your skin. This was followed by what was our first sparkling water treatment which apparently is a beauty ritual that many Korean celebrities swear by.

We were given a bucket that was filled with half flat water and half sparkling water for us to immerse our faces in. Although it felt like breathing lessons at first – because believe me when I say it’s no easy task to hold your breath in sparkling water for 15 seconds without coming up for air – the results were really amazing as you can see how bright and rejuvenated your skin looks afterwards. Prior to this, I had no idea sparkling water had such beneficial properties for one’s skin!

Our pampering session continued with a double mask treatment where we tried Laneige’s Water Bank Double Gel Soothing Mask and the Brightening Sparkling Peeling Mask before moving on to the next Korean beauty trend.

Lee Min Ho discusses working with Song Hye Gyo as a child actor

A 14-year-old image of actress Song Hye Gyo was shown on the August 1st broadcast of MBC's 'Radio Star'. The episode featured the cast of the musical 'La Cage Aux Folles'.

Actor Lee Min Ho recalled his debut as a child actor 14 years ago through the popular drama 'Soonpoong Clinic', which featured top stars like Song Hye Gyo in its cast.

When the MCs asked how Song Hye Gyo was when she was a rookie, Lee Min Ho answered, "She was a very pretty nuna even back then. She took really good care of us since the kids were always hanging out together, and I always thought that she was 'pretty'."

Then the MCs jokingly asked, "At six, wouldn't you know everything by then? Did you have any other thoughts about her?"

However, Lee Minho refuted, "I still went to the women's bath with my mom at six, seven years old because I was so oblivious about the other sex."
