1.) Super Rookie - this drama stands out because it only doesn't concentrate much on love but also in the real world.

Overrated:

1.) Stairway to Heaven - the story is just so IMPOSSIBLE!

2.) Goong - I'm sorry to all Goong lovers but I always fall asleep when watching this, I don't know why.

Overrated:

Autumn Story / Endless Love - Supposedly this set off the Korean Wave. If it did then I'm sorry it started because this show was lame. Only good it did was launching Won Bin and Song Hye Gyo to fame.

Winter Sonata / Beautiful Days - Extremely boring, cliche, and sappy. Great examples of good actors in bad storylines.

My Girl - Haven't finished this, but if it was so repulsive to begin with...

Glass Shoes - Just UGH

Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum) - Oh why oh why...

Hotelier - Yes, the main actress/actors are old but so mature and the story is solid.

The reason the drama are so popular , it's because the cast are very good looking. I only watched for a few episode and ended up getting bored.

Seriously i don't know how the drama could be popular, maybe because of the cast but i think that YEH went too much with the cuteness. I think the suppoting roles are better, the storylina are boring, dragging and didn;t follow the manga. The ending totally sucks, sure it has its funny moment but it's just not good enough.

hmm. okay here goes! might be kinda long, but hey, it's time to bring some of these series to justice >:].

OVERRATED:

1. i'm sorry i love you

i know people are going to kill me for this one, but i really think for the amount of hype this series created, it didn't deliver as well as i had hoped. don't get me wrong, it has a brilliant plot/storyline with a great cast, acting, soundtrack, and cinematogrophy, but again, for the amount of hype this series created, i was honestly dissapointed. the ending, in my opnion, was awful (i won't give it away, but yeah). definitely killed it for me. if it weren't for the ending, i think i would have gave in and really liked it. love so ji sub though!

2. ijuksa (love to kill)

wow. awful!!!! it just got a lot of attention because bi was in it, although i must admit he was pretty hot in the drama. but the series itself = major suckage. long, boring, draggy, etc. etc.

3. goong

draggy, and just seems like a bunch of teeny`bopper drama to me. but maybe i'm biased, cause i was introduced to MY GiRL at the same time i saw this series, and the latter was MUCH preferred x]. didn't finish. i also really don't like the main actress - eun hye? her "cute" was crossing the line (many times, might i add) into annoying/whiny/irritating. not my cup of tea. i think my girl was MUCH better. but that's just my humble shameless plug .

UNDERRATED

in an attempt to redeem a few series that are great..

1. REVENGE/RESSURRECTiON (BUHWAHL?)

oh my freaking goodness. i just finished this series and i have to say it is the BEST drama i've EVER SEEN. 24 eps is a bit daunting i must admit, but it's SO. FREAKiNG. GOOD. EXTREMELY underrated!!! people applauded i'm sorry i love you (misa) because of it's fresh idea which separated it from other series, but this drama took that idea and turned it into a freaking masterpiece. i am so obsessed. haha. no complaints whatsoever. gah. definitely worth buying/watching/dl`ing/whatever`ing!! i feel like i have to tell the rest of the kdrama`watching world xD.

2. super rookie

come on, you guys. this drama was DARN funny. i actually rolled on the floor laughing at some of the parts. really cute, although han ga in got annoying, what with her in tears all the time. still a good one. give it a chance :].

3. my girl

was it really underrated though? i dunno, people are saying it was, but i thought it was pretty popular .. i guess compared to like, goong (haha man i so totally have a grudge), it wasn't AS hyped up, so that's why i'll just put it here. i especially liked how it had a good message at the end. positive stuff = GOOD stuff. cast = yummy, too.

4. to marry a millionare

the one with gosu in it. this was actually a really good series. go su's character was so .. chakkeh, it made me melt. like no matter what happened, he remained loyal. very cute/sweet. was something else airing during the time this was out? i think sweet spy was, maybe that's why. and it aired on sbs, so that also might have had something to do with it? reaaaally cute though!<33.

i guess that's all. will add more later if i remember.

oh, and as for FULL HOUSE, i can't say it was overrated (Even though i liked MNKSS better) because it's one of those classics.. like winter sonata, you know? it ignited my love for kdrama too, so i guess that's why i can't say anything. it was cute too!

actually, three of those dramas aren't "underrated" at all based on popularity and ratings...

I have to agree with you. Overall, im sorry i love you was quite a good drama, but the two last episode was horrible. It dragged and I almost had to stop watching. If it wasn't for the ending, I think I would have loved this drama to death. I still think that the earlier episodes were just great though...

Goong -- Never finished the whole drama. They seem like kids playing around --- not my type .

Full house --- What are they doing in this film ? The only think they like to do is " To ARGUe with each other ". He does like her . Why does he so often make her unhappy ?

This story is interesting in the beginning , but drags on and on later.

The script is poor.

Lovers in Paris --- It's a typical Kdrama ( with some unique moments ). The men ' re interesting to watch while the women ( inclusive the main female ) just irritated me.

However I think Lovers in Paris is good but absolutly overrated.

All in : It was with great expectations that I saw All in , I thought It'll be exiting with all those Casino- stuff. But what I get is just a dragging love story. I guess the scripwriter really wanted to make It as dramatic as possible.

Underrated

My Girl - FUNNY !! Even through The one-guy-two-girls triangle is kind of " DÉJÀ-VU ".

Lee Dae Hee did an exellent job . But Lee Dong-wook...I'm a little confusing, he is hot but sometimes I feel like he has no body language.

In my opinion, My Name Is Kim Sam Soon is not underrated. Its last episode even draw 50%+ ratings. Totally depends on our meaning of underrated but I think Resurrection is much underrated then MNIKSS because they aired at about the same time and its rating did suffer because of MNIKSS's popularity.

Right now, I think Mr. Goodbye is pretty underrated although ratings have picked up since the last few episodes.

not a drama but... MARRYING HIGH SCHOOL GIRL is SO UNDERRATED... i can barely find anything on it... no fanlistings, not even a soompi thread, no official website(maybe it was shut down). and lim eun kyung ... is also very very very underrated...

full house - liked it ... one of my favorite dramas but no offense but i think the acting wasnt exactly GREAT. the story is okay and it IS funny and sweet but yeah, acting was good... not great like everybodys saying. i am not a bi/rain hater so dont kill me just thought that his acting there could have been better

goong - same case... i like joo ji hun but he could have done better but hes kinda new so i can understnad that. but still a bit too draggy. and... woah almost every other erpson on soompi has a goong signature banner and icon.

ONLY YOU - ... i cant understnad why some people like it so much. and i dont like the actress no offense.

I define "underrated" as gems that have been overlooked by many people. Great story without the usual cliches, solid script with brilliant lines, and acting that makes you go "Wow!" Unfortunately, for various reasons, they suffered from low ratings or are just less talked about and watched.

Conversely, "overrated" would be those dramas that are hugely popular but which I find to be more style than substance. They aren't really bad, may even be enjoyable in parts but do not warrant the ravings they've been getting, in my opinion.

As for the My Girl vs MNIKSS debate, I think both are excellent comedies. They exceeded my expectations.

Hey thunderbolt, couldn't agree with you more. Ruler of Your Own World is defenitely underrated. Even critics like Korean TV Drama and Twitch say it's underrated. A must see for a good drama!!!

Full House and Kim Sam-soon are overrated.

Full House - I'm sorry but I got so sick of seeing them doing the same thing over and over again: arguing and fighting about the same old things.

Stairway to Heaven - Stop the crying. STOP. And the ending was CRAP.

Another drama with crap ending was What happened in Bali. Oh my god. I hate all of them, HATE this drama.

Love Story in Harvard - Story was good at the beginning but went downhill after the leads went back to Korea.

Winter Sonata - The storyline drags on and on and on and......

Goong - the extreme hype is turning me off from watching this. Yawns.

Stairway To Heaven - OMGOSH, Stairway to Heaven could be call "The Crying Drama". It's always him crying, or her crying.

WInter Sonata - Winter Sonata, they couldof ended like with just 2 disc.

GOONG - It was kindof interesting, than it got really dead boring.

Full House - It was good. It's just that they do fight too much! And it always seem to be about the same thing!

think about the preferences over the dramas.

Sometimes only sweet/loving romance dramas shown could really get some people obsessing with them. People think these are good dramas. They like those which could touch them in the heart and made the face go burning when the male lead finally kisses the girl, hold her hands.

How about thinking in that sense, that particular drama is broadcasting through the whole nation in korea. Do you think its alright if the show gets all too lovey dovey when supposingly the whole family is watching it together? Or do you think the contents of the drama should be something that is appropriate for all tv-viewers? Hence i find it quite absurd when i see some drama names going under each of the categories though there are no rights/wrongs because its all solely one's opinion.

To me, if theres too much love/romances/kissing/touchy scenes from the leading couples in the show, it made it awkward for me to watch with my family. It feels just weird.

Ya, probably all i typed are not link to the topic. haha. well im just gonna say seeing the way SOME people categorizing those dramas under each, you could tell what genre of dramas they love watching. This also somehow tells you bout them.

Underrated:

My Sassy /Delightful Girl Choon Hyang - It was really good. Great plot, GREAT acting (especially for newbies) and it didn't have any missing pieces like all the popular (and sometimes overrated) dramas. They developed together from their high school years, through college, and AFTER college. A lot of dramas have that "I'VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH YOU OUT OF THE BLUE" sort of thing and it ticks me off. One minute you hate them the next you're all lovey-dovey in love but in too much pain to admit it to them >____> ugh. It irks me that producers/directors/writers get too lazy to fill in the missing pieces and just expect us to go with the flow as if we can guess what happened in between (am I making any sense..?) but yeah I loved how DGCH was well-rounded. It had comedy too which is awesome-er <3 Occasionally it has it's "cliche" moments, but the drama pulls it off really well.

Overrated:

Goong - People made such a huugee deal out of it, when in truth it wasn't even that good. The characters around CG made her seem as if she was always this "happy go-lucky girl that doesn't let anything phase her who always makes the surrounding people smile" when really during 2/3rds of the drama she was so whiny and crying all the time -- totally contrasted that characterization eh?? Can a Goong fan please explain to me what made YOU like it so much? Cause seriously all I ever see is " AHH!! SHIN IS SO F$#%ING HOT!!!!!" or "GOONG IS SO GOOD!!" but no one ever gives a reason why it was good (besides the "great" chemistry, but like someone mentioned before I think others are just mistaking sexual tension as chemistry, but that's just my opinion. ) .___. so hard to understand =(

FYI to the people who felt that A Love To Kill is overrated -- not a lot of people liked it. MANY gave it a try cause Bi was in it, but not even his (sexy) self and his (awesome) acting could keep the audience interested. It was good, but not THAT good. I didn't even like the coupling, or the plot LOL. I just liked the characters (note: the characters and I don't just mean the main ones either I liked all of them), weird huh?

Over Rated:

Stairway to Heaven- Although I liked this drama and cried like a baby.. after I thought about it... it was too unbelievable. How ALL that happen to ONE person in ONE life time!.. CRAZY!

A Love To Kill- I'm a BIG BIG fan of RAIN.. and I love him to death!!.. But watching this was very hard for me to do. The only thing that helped me finish was how HOTT RAIN LOOKED. I liked the ending though.. but I think if there was a different actor then it wouldn't have been "so big"...

All the Kdramas I've seen are far from reality, this one's not too hard to swallow.

Autumn tale is not the best but still one of my favourite.

You can figure out how the story would continue after one or two episodes. Too much crying scenes, some people may lose energy by watching this.

But I don't hate It . However It's a well-paced story with a strong cast , except for Song Seung Hun.

His acting is not flexibel. He has that "confusing look" mostly of his screen time, even when he laugh ( which just makes Won Bin even more interesting to watch. ) Hmmm...But I can't blame him much, he is supposed to play an responsible man ...Whatever, hehe

I'm very impressed by the two mother's love for the main actress in here, their acting just awww... touch my heart.
