IHAL The end 

EP 50 A good closing episode which featured the Leads, second leads, and almost all the major supporting cast -- as with many others, I missed having a last view of YG WJ GN & the doctor-- think a simple 2 minute non-dialogue scene of an open field, a blanket, American style picnic basket and frisbee would have covered for being in the states and we could have seen a happy soon to be family at play.

 To all IHAL forum friends, enjoyed reading all your posts and the time spent discussing IHAL.   You all made my first Soompi forum attempt an enjoyable relaxing time.

Great question about how both men, BS JE are somewhat over the top -- actually I found nothing unusual about how she has presented them, as they are mostly, not solely, there to either support HK story in her reset in  life (BS) or reset in love (JE).  Though I do feel,  she does go more "overboard" with JE.  Another example, but perhaps more positive then my page 690 example -- JE no real business experience, steps into company as part of the deal for MH to throw away HK episode 9 - then 4 months into the job, he has reached the most senior leadership position (I do understand the background to that) -- the company is faced with what we have been led to believe is a critical point (Pudoxin) that could ruin the company - executives point out company has already lost millions USD$ (no actual amount stated but a guess based on concern they show) and that stock value is going straight down -- a year later Company is doing well -JE must be a master of business, equal to his absolute master ship of the romantic period in a relationship.

I am more surprised by how HK is presented by a 21st century female writer - not just how much she is love with JE - but also her story arc up to end EP 48.

1. Top of the class professional lawyer - cold, ruthless, corrupt BUT so very effective in all she does.

    2.  Law Office manager -- Warm, caring , still top of the class but fighting for justice And still so very effective.

3. Vice chairman of a large company- perhaps hidden, but still warm, caring, fighting for justice and still very effective.

4. Prison but 2 & 3 still apply - but adds more understanding of human relationships.

But before prison, she has told BS her goal is to live with JE and his mother in their old home and at least implied it is to take care of his mother as JE works.  Her interaction with JE in episodes 47 48 still seem to point in that direction.

Do not get me more wrong, I have total respect what a real hard and important job that is -- my lovely wife shows me this each day.

But it is an unusual story arc, usually we see the housewife grow to be both a loving mother and working professional.  Await next episodes and actual story arc ending.

@jd50@jd50 -- enjoyed reading your post page 688 about "pacing problems" etc etc and for the most part agree.

IHAL, as with many Kdramas, tend to exaggerate characters actions to reinforce the writers goal.  However, even understanding this - to enjoy and get "into" the drama world, I kind of put this understanding aside for the duration.

IHAL to me, has very extreme exaggerated actions by the characters, more so then most Kdrama I have viewed and enjoyed.
For example- JEs angry facial expressions, very aggressive pulling, grabbing, man handling, in your face attitude towards HK after she gets her memory back and puts on her "play acting" anger role.  I do understand, that in kdrama world-the male lead doing the wrist grab pull is usually used to show how much he loves her- BUT JE was so overboard- that I actually thought for about an episode of time, that the writer may be using that to throw in a major dramatic twist -- not the case of course.

I "caved" after episode 30 and said I would except HK POV on her love for JE, since it became glaringly clear that was the writers end goal - said I would focus remaining  postings on supporting characters and storylines and not "rain on" the OTP Love,-- for the most part, I think I have done that.  At least up to this posting.

But since IHAL is days away from finial resolution of the OTP love story - I will give my main reason, in addition to my continued view of JE being a self centered jerk, who's attitude to me has been consistent throughout all episodes-- JEs pain is always his priority and always counts more then any pain HK is suffering- cheating, divorce, we can't be together because my daddy was bad, no jail visit because I am angry,  are prime examples as I see it.

Main reason
HK is the character I was must invested in and rooted for throughout the drama.

To me HK was one of the great strong, intelligent, determined heroines I have viewed in Kdramas-- 
Then to see HK reaction to JE was just too overboard  -- JE smiles at HK --she is happy, all is right with the world, a dream come true (the writer here is successful in showing a great love)---BUT-- when JE turns away or even remotely looks like she will lose him - then her facial expression of pain, to me is that of a woman (in this case --has been a male in other dramas) who's world, yes universe, has crashed, been destroyed --she is overwhelming depressed, to the point in EP 7 that she attempts to end her life( to me this is unhealthy love).   I had hoped to end this drama with a HK who understood that her happiness rest primarily with her, not almost solely dependent on JE.

I do understand the writers goals ---reset in life, reset in love, destiny of love.  For me the writer did a wonderful job in showing HK reset in life -- but per paragraphs above that was the only reset I supported.

I return again to accepting HK POV.

EP 47 48 limited subs ----BS SJ HW - 

First let me say, that being from Mars, I am not overly concerned about "chemistry" when viewing a drama.  If I find both characters likable, I can support the writers love line - if I also see "chemistry" that is a plus.

Is there "chemistry" between BS SJ - Perhaps not, but as I see the storyline they have the makings for a good likable couple - who share a great sense of justice.  At this point I do not see the writer pushing a HW SJ couple.  Do HW SJ have better "chemistry" -I don' think so --but what I see is that HW is the funny guy relief character and JEs love guide--HW has not caused any HK JE conflicts-- but BS as second lead has. IMO those factors play into HW being perceived as more charming and lovable.

BS SJ - I see a potential for them ending as a couple if there is another time jump- to me SJ continues to show interest in BS.  BS at this point still seems unaware/standoffish of this interest, but feel his interest is growing as he gets more comfortable with being with her and any residual feelings for HK fade away.  Is it slow for a year to have passed and not yet a couple - not unheard of in real life, not to mention "friends to lovers" Kdramas. What I see is a good strong friendly working relationship has been built in that year -- which is not a bad way for a long term love to be born.

--In EP 46 HK SJ conversation- SJ says -oh this is his style while looking at HK.  I would suggest that when we see SJ in EP 47 48 she reflects some of HKs style vs her look in EP 46.  Also, understanding she is not rich and as such she can only do so much on upgrading her style.  

EP 47 -- SJ making physical contact with BS and their banter back and forth -shows me she is interested in BS.  

EP 48 -- SJ actions, expressions when seeing HK  show a level of jealously in regards to BS friendship with HK.  Again we see the easy comfortable banter between BS SJ - I would also suggest that HK has picked up on that and smiles - in seeing her good friend having a lovely charming women showing interest.

OBSERVATION-  I continue to enjoy and like SJs open quirky style.

ADDITIONAL NOTE -- BS growth 
This is just how I see BS being portrayed by the writer.
BS- "Nice guy" Characteristics for the most part.  

 Hopefully, BS  has learned a valuable lesson and grown by his experience with HK--that is - being a total nice guy will usually result in being put in the "friendship zone".  With HK he was always there for her, he would help her with anything she asked, what HK wanted BS would put his all into trying to get that. For HK - BS just was -no more -no less - no effort required.

 BS is still a nice caring guy, but NOT a total nice guy., he has picked up some limited "bad boy" characteristics.  With SJ, knowingly or subconsciously, BS is more standoffish, building first on a working and friends relationship-- but NOT a friend who will drop everything he is doing at a moments notice and run to SJ.  Therefore, SJ if she is interested in BS, has to expend some of her emotional feelings - She becomes invested in BS - he is not just there for her, without any effort on her part. Best I can do in trying to explain my point- "Dear Abby" I am not.  

Of course all this is only based on the very limited scenes given, but the writer has compressed a lot detail in those scenes, that would usually play out over a number of episodes.
Appreciate the writers efforts in showing even a time constrained storyline for BS SJ.

@irilight @irilight Minor point -- But will continue my defense of BS who took a lot of bashing 100s pages back of not being smart enough to to catch onto the fact that HK YK father died on the 15th but patent transfer took place on 16th -- however in one of the episodes in the late 30s when JE was researching the mountain death, we then found out that yes he died on 15th but MH covered up his death and had the death dated as the 17th -- No way could then just beginning lawyer BS have refuted a legal document that was registered to show patent transfer was legal and took place with a person then still alive.

In regards to other inputs--- My point was Truth should be know by YG of her fathers efforts being why she has that research facility--if in fact we know MH really followed through on what he said ----but understand your rational and yes it will not likely come up again in IHAL. I was aware JE already knew - my point was YG not being happy with his family - right now she has been focused on MTS a BIL

Waiting for EP 47/48 subs --- thanks to all for recapping - now have a general idea of what has occurred-- afraid it is looking like writer is dropping 48 episodes of supporting storylines - leaving to viewers open interpretation -- hoping writer will give us her resolutions-- even if it is just a few lines of dialogue.

HK needs to tell YG the truth

What happened to YG compensation for MH theft of her fathers patent??

She was the 5 year old child living with her father - the child left on her own - the child who lived with and was raised by her non bio Grandmother --which turned out to be a blessing, since she was greatly loved --poor but happy, became a strong woman with a wonderful sense of right and wrong, and the strength to do what is right, not taking the easy road.

HK - got her stocks from MH, sold them and turned over the money to JE to pay out Pudoxin compensation-- her choice and a method to atone for being part of the CNP Cover up.  Her part of patent compensation --call it paid.  

GN - left the father when he was poor, for another man who had money-- so her claim IMO is of no major concern- if she was to get compensation or not is fine with me.

YG- Must receive compensation.  HK as far as I am aware has not told YG anything about what MH did.  I will understand and accept if HK withholds information about MH involvement in the death on the mountain, in order to save YG pain at this point.  .BUT-- there is no excuse to withhold the truth about the patent theft.
YG is already feeling somewhat burdened by receiving money from HK -- for example the business class airline tickets.  YG should be allowed to make her own decisions about her justly due compensation- she is a proud strong woman.

Writer -- seems to be in fast storylines clean up mode - MH mountain murder or no murder - thanks for the less then clear resolution-- Pudoxin had multiple episodes of storyline, CNP in trouble- then bang and done/gone, CNP little to no problem, business saved how??  YES I can guess/think I know -- MH did murder HK YG Father -- JE pay out of compensation, sincerely Apologized to public, promising efforts to find a drug to counter act the Pudoxin bone issue, resulting in a renewed faith in CNP products etc etc.  HOWEVER, as a viewer of IHAL 50 episodes drama, I would like the writer to tell me in the IHAL world she created--what she the writer says was the outcome of storylines she hooked me with.

 OK let's see some detail on YG Compensation issue. For example --Did MH set aside money for a medical research/treatment of rare diseases facility for YK to run and was that money safe from any CNP tie in issues---IF YES-- then I still don't want YG going through life thinking what a wonderful generous upright man MH was to just do this for her --No -this is her properly inherited ownership that was what her father left her from his patent-- not because MH was her fathers "great friend" doing a good deed. HK needs to tell YG the truth, even if she is afraid that somehow it might make it difficult for her and JE -- that is their issue -- not YGs issue, she deserve the truth, for her good fortune is because of her fathers hard work and his love for his daughter.

Was HK main goal to protect JE or was it to protect herself???

At the end of EP 46 she told BS don't tell JE what his father and JR did - she will do her year in jail, because if he knows------
" He'll despair again and he'll run away from me again.  If he runs away again this time, he won't ever come back.

I think she is protecting herself - she wants his love and has that little faith in how strong his love is - that he would run rather then stay firm as someone in true faithful love would do.

I am not saying she is correct- but that scene reads that way to me.

Based on the preview and the photo of HK, little girl, BS & SJ scene-----

Looks like the writer is having the I Have a Lover OST scenario come into play.

That is  a 1 year time jump HK JE meet again and the OST words play out in a reunion scene--- then likely followed with the adoption of the little girl HK has met during here time away --to get all her thoughts together over all that happened in a very intense 4 months from JE return to SK.

@mdj101. Thanks for your research/references on SK law and their acceptance of repentance being a factor in a legal case when determining a appropriate sentence.  @mdj101

I think your research further supports my conjuncture posted on page 633.  Therefore, based on latest episodes I project the following.

1.  BS & JE will work together on the MIDO SIS Case -- JE already knows how involved his father was in that case -- he was listening outside the door, when HK played the tape to MH and he heard enough, before walking away in shame/disgust, to know his father was the mastermind and HK only the hunting dog.
2. BS will. As reflected in my post pg 633, bring and submit to court the thank you letters from clients HK received during her 4 years as Office Manager -- could even have those people testify (this would be a great scene, but perhaps to costly for the production budget).
3. JE will have SIS testify in regards to the new repentant HK and actions she & (really) JE have done to make up for it.
4. At some point, hopefully before the case, JE will confront HK that he already knows all about what his father did in regards to MIDO case and this will get HK out of her current stupefying feelings.  
5. THEN --- as others have already posted she or JE or both together will look into the false timing of the MH affidavit.  I agree with those postings that he never went back that night and that affidavit was a prior document, that MH refuted once he "SAW THE LIGHT" that he must pay for his crimes if he wants HK JE together.

EP 46 additional Observations SJ now that full subs are available.

-- The SJ (new lawyer) of episode 46 has a very similar personality to the HK/YK2 we saw in the early episodes 10,11,12.  Additionally, she also appears, based on her very detailed descriptions of the law as it pertains to perverts and the fact that she was previously employed by a very well known/respected law firm -- that she very likely has a similar high level of professional knowledge and skill as that of HK -- albeit in a much cuter quirky style.

Still missing a lot of critical dialogue on HK Court case so await 100%subs

But enough dialogue to get a good view of BS SJ(new lawyer) HW Triangle-- which looks interesting, but not enough time left in IHAL.

BS SJ share the same interest in justice for all and will fight against all odds to see that truth & justice is what is right against money and power.

BS on phone with HK scene and HK coming to office and short discussion between HK SJ scene -- does point to, at least a level of interest that SJ has for BS.

HW SJ scenes seem like a very compressed Kdrama trope of first bickering and then the realization of possible romantic interest -- HW look at SJ as she pops up from her exercise pose.

This could have been a great supporting characters storyline had it been started sooner -- but will continue to enjoy what little the writer can still fit in with only 4 episodes remaining.

ALSO 

No surprise that I am looking forward to viewing BS & new lawyer scenes with Subs.  

For me, this is becoming one of the best parts of IHAL --I like the concept of two basically good men in a love triangle with a female lead---do not think I have ever seen a Kdrama with that concept.  But unfortunately, for me, not enough time left in IHAL to be much of even a supporting character storyline.

I have seen Kdramas in which low key jerks (male/female) or could be called bad boy/girl leads have been in and won over a great guy/girl lead.  These low key jerks, mostly evolve through logical documented storylines and scenes into good men/women.  IHAL is not one of those dramas, since a low key jerk DOES NOT knowingly, intentionally cause extreme emotional pain.

I have also seen some great Kdramas in which the nice guy lead is the OTP and wins over a wonderful, strong, intelligent, determined female lead.  "UGLY Alert" is perhaps the best example and "Cheer Up Mr Kim" also rates at the top for this drama concept.

Looking forward to full subs to better understanding what she is actually saying -- but already enjoying the interaction  between her and BS -- hoping for at least some more scenes between them as IHAL moves toward the end -- makes all my previous postings since pg 102, when I joined this forum, defending BS worth it.

2.  HK Insider Trading on CNP stocks with knowledge of MTS move to control CNP.
9 Executives of SAMSUNG under investigation for Insider Trading.  They had knowledge of upcoming merger, which is at least thought of as part of plan to gain more influence for Samsung Chairman to insure transfer of power to his son. Dec 15
They bought shares before merger announcement to general public- share prices increased with merger.

EP 44 Limited Subs  but from what has been subbed 

HK Stock buying -- is now looking like "Insider Trading". She knew MS was buying to take over company - she purchased first and HAS turned a significant profit by having Her man sell them to MS.  Likely in future episodes this may turn out to be to have been done with good intentions- such as using this profit gain to buy stocks again as they fall in price as Pudoxiin, MT crimes, MH death hit the news- to help keep CNP from "going under"---but insider trading and profit gain has taken place.  Not sure if legal system accepts "good intentions" in SK orIHAL Drama world -- but in any case, do not really see it coming up again from a legal point.

HK Mido case -- think Prosecutor will try to just drop that case now that MH is dead, SIS is already willing to drop it, and of course his own father is tied to that case.  Will have to see if HK will let him drop it.

Await future episodes.

- I was surprised that Dr Min, YK WJ were leaving for USA treatment-----in EP 23 @34min. Dr Min basically asks YK WJ to trust him-- he has developed a much more effective medication then is currently available in USA and would like WJ be part of his clinical trails---- was this yet another throw away misdirection by the writer?? Makes no sense for them to go to USA when Dr Min a well respected 
Doctor and researcher - has already started clinical trials on his more effective medication in SK -- for him to restart a new clinical trial in USA would cost valuable time and delay WJs treatment.  EDIT ADDED-- the departure of DR Min GN YK WJ -- Now frees up old HK JE Home for them to soon return to -- to me this is only reason that makes sense for the writer to have taken this action - 

- MH flatline - Since JE is next to him at that time and JE has not met a flatline he can not defeat -- MH could fully recover as did HK.  IF MH does die then the writer who has given us a great drama to to this point - is now choosing the easy way to get rid of a hurdle to the reunion of HK JE.

- BS - yes he needs to meet a woman that can appreciate a nice guy -- that means a woman who is ready/looking for a life commitment vs a smooth talking bad boy who can give her short term dating love.

EP 42 limited subs-- HK TS Court Room Confrontation @41

To me -- this is the saddest scene -- 
- When TS tells/threatened HK --TS says "This is attorney misconduct" -- HK responds " This was my last trial anyway"

HK is the character that has kept me engaged in viewing IHAL and waiting eagerly each week for the next episode to air and be subbed.  I want to see how HK will overcome her overwhelming sense of guilt and find her own peace and acceptance of who she NOW is -- not what her past self was.

While we have not been told or viewed what it was that drove HK in her youth to so strongly put forth all her efforts and time in the study of Law - it has been made clear that this was something she desired with all her heart. 

  ---THE 2015/16 HK I SEE IS PASSIONATE ABOUT THE LAW AND JUSTICE.---

The court case shown in episode 1 showed us how smart and effective a lawyer HK 2011 was.  Albeit- a cold ruthless, one could even say vicious lawyer she was.  But the point was made right at the beginning of IHAL that HK is a lawyer who other lawyers face at their peril in the courtroom.

We have been shown scenes and heard dialogue scattered throughout episodes 1-42 that highlighted that HK is at the top of her profession -- she is a lawyer who is the best of the best.

At the end of this drama, I do not care what man or no man HK ends with -- But I want to see again the fully committed, smiling, happy HK that I saw in episodes 10- 16. --The HK who fought for justice for the underserved common man agains the rich and the corrupt.  But now as HK the Lawyer and not an office manager -- working out of her own Law Practice -- NOT as some high level Corporate Executive.

EP 41 HK -- JAIL or no jail
@juntan your post page 631 part dealing with HK and Mido case.  My thoughts    @juntan

Beginning of EP 41 we hear the taped phone conversation between MH HK about Mido SIS case -- at a minimum this phone tape shows Lawyer HK was aware of false evidence, fraudulent activities, theft of a company's research documents/efforts and possibly the plan to commit murder -- she took no action at that time to stop any of those criminal actions from being successful ---Also, she knowingly used the results of those criminal actions to win her legal case. 
NOTE - I say possible Murder plan- because the end result of delivering the Zolpidem drug was the murder of the Mido Chief Researcher made to look like a drug related overdose death.  But admit HK knowledge/ability to connect Zolpidem delivery as part of a murder plan is weak at this point and could be another total misdirection by the writer - but the false, fraudulent and theft activities do seem solid based on the tape.

Is that a crime in IHAL Drama world ---I think so -- BUT as a lawyer in that same drama world can she be prosecuted due to her knowledge of and use of - but not having ordered or actually accomplished those criminal actions -- We will see - no telling how Korean law and in particular Drama World law applies to a Lawyers responsibility in this case.

On one hand I do NOT want HK  to do jail time --on the other hand my sense of justice says she must do some jail time or suffer some consequences.

Conjecture/guess from this point on

If if if HK does stand trial - I think that BS will somehow be involved (perhaps not As her lawyer) and will try to mitigate her actions or sentence by showing those letters she received during her 4 years with BS legal practice- could even bring in those people as character witnesses to show she has already been rehabilitated and jail time would serve no real purpose at this point.  She was not the mastermind, but only the corrupted "hunting dog" of MH CNP who has already shown full repentance for her past actions.

OR

It could be, as some have already mentioned how SIS is now seeing HK in a new light.
That JE could convince SIS to give testimony on the current HK that could serve same purpose as above in BS paragraph.

Be interesting to see how writer has it play out --if at all.  

NOTE-- I have no legal professional background- so my choice of wording may not be fully correct in regards to terms false or fraudulent when used above for what MH did, but I am confident that I captured the writers intent in having us hear that taped phone conversation.

EP 40 BS HK Hospital Room Planning Session.

I enjoyed and was pleased to see --- how comfortable they still are with each other-- as reflected By their conversation-- in which their words/ideas flowed so smoothly --one building on what the other said - so in sync- as their next steps in the plan built to conclusion.   What a great team -- the drama world of IHAL is going to lose a team of lawyers who could fight hard together for justices and for rights of working man and woman -- if they don't have a joint legal practice at the end of the drama.   This does not mean them in a love relationship BUT a great working relationship

Another Common Thread

HK & YK are both in love with men who have close evil family members (MH TS) who directly harmed (MH possibly murdered) their loved ones (father, YK fiancé).

HK & YK Both continue in their love of these men, despite what their family members did-- they do not put the sins of the father/brother onto the men they love.
-- Sub Note-- HK is pulling away from JE not so much because of what his father did-- but more because of what she has done in the past and her overwhelming feelings of guilt in the death of ES-- also to keep JE protected and out of the coming battle HK vs MH TS.

mdj101 your post page 609 big red heart BS -- As reflected in my previous postings, I am 100% in agreement with your thoughts -- it is time (past time) to bring in a smart top of the class female lawyer to assist BS in the Pudoxin case -- and for that lawyer to be a woman who understands and appreciates that BS is a nice man capable of unconditional love --which can bring to a relationship a lifetime of love beyond the giddy heart thumping Romantic period and into the long loving committed period. @mdj101

EP 39 -- MH (the spider) King of rationalizing-- Basically he Tells JE he returned to HK what was hers from her father-- NO - HK Ruthless, cold Corporate Lawyer executioner, earned (for lack of a better word) what he has given her(stocks) as long as she continues to perform as his hunting dog and once again married JE so company remains in family name.

MH HK YK father death -- murder or accident- still wide open await future episodes.  BUT if it was suicide by HK YK father and nice guy MH is covering for that I will be surprised -- as this really does not make HK YK father look like a smart or decent father -- to have left YK alone and subject to being an orphan with non bio Grandmother, without first having gone back to GN and put YK in her care.  

BUT of course with this writer it could be that he did write a will asking MH to return YK to GN - if this is the case it makes MH actions just as despicable.  Look forward to seeing how writer takes this issue forward.

But also, do not see this, no matter how it turns out -- to be a "show stopper" in the writers continued movement towards an HK JE ending.

SR is clearly portrayed as evil and had gotten even more evil as the episodes have gone on -- Writer now seems to be entering the redeeming period for SR.

So I will also put forth my counter view of SR from the early episodes As Regards to her taking of photos and stalking like actions of JE -- That is the JE who is her SENIOR at UNIVERSITY research department, could even be seen as her mentor-- the JE who himself basically has acknowledged to HK that he USED his junior, beautiful, YOUNG, intelligent, SR as a means to inflict hurt and pain against her.

IMO the photo taking SR of early episodes  -- comes across as a immature, young woman who has spent all her time studying, little to none dating experience - who could be likened to the young teenage idol fans who so wish to see their idols and collect photos of them to dream of how wonderful it could be to have their love.  Those teenagers in time mature and move on,  SR for all the wrong reasons saw and acted upon a chance to actually capture that love -- JE gave her that opening and for a period of time accepted her feelings -It takes two to have an affair.

End of counter view -- Back to accepting HK POV on her love for JE.  My postings have fallen off, as I have accepted Writers goal and really do not wish to "rain on" the story -- YET once again here I am, I do try though.  Thanks for the mention in your posting -- I did add on to the protective discussion, but also can not recall who first bought it up.  

Still awaiting full subs for both episodes to get a more updated understanding.

IHAL Low TV Ratings-- IMO

Recent discussions @jadecloud @mdj101 @sunshinefate about IHAL low TV ratings in SK for such a dramatic, well written, suspenseful drama.  @jadecloud  @mdj101  @sunshinefate

My Opinion  -- Based on the assumption that the Characters descriptions shown on page one of this forum are written and published by SBS.  Can not think of any other organization or person who would have had enough knowledge of story at the beginning to have such detailed character descriptions.

THEREFORE, I put a lot of the blame for low ratings on SBS Top Level Management.  To me, it is very clear that the IHAL drama storylines and focus that we have seen since episode 10 bare little to none, resemblance to what was published in the character descriptions.  See this forum page 1 Characters descriptions 

At least to me -- reading and understanding the character descriptions reflected on page one of this forum - that IHAL was to be a drama that would have a significant focus on cheating, infidelity, adultery.  

That is -in the drama described in character descriptions-- JE would have been not only a serial cheater (cheating on both wives), but a man who would lead his ex wife, who had no memory of the past into an adulterous affair.  IHAL we have seen is not that drama -- but rather as @jadecloud said in Her post page 587, it is a Love story with little focus on cheating.

Once SBS (writer, PD, etc) made the decision to change the storyline THEY should have published new character descriptions and a new updated synopses to clearly reflect that this is a drama of undying fated love over all obstacles.  I would suggest that many viewers in SK having read the published character descriptions likely were "turned off" and have not even bothered trying to view the drama -- and if they did at first couple of episodes-- those episodes surly "turned off" many viewers.

I understand/believe  that the SK viewing audience is likely well aware of how drama stories can and do (IHAL to me is an example) change to reflect demands of "fandom" -- BUT IMO not usually to the full extent of change since Episode 10 that IHAL has changed direction

ADDITIONAL NOTE -- Even if story had stayed true to character descriptions-/ IMO the writer of IHAL likely always had HK JE as end goal, with reset in Life & love, second chances, destiny of love as her her theme-- what a story that could have been, to see how she could have reached that point, given the original storyline.

A prosecutor whose father was employed by one of the parties in a lawsuit would automatically have to recluse himself from that case in most countries of the world. I am not sure about Korean law specifically. 

 

Names written as portrayed in Viki subs - will await future episodes to see if my posting holds "water" -- as I also posted - could be writers misdirection-- BUT those names and chauffeur discussion about children prosecutor doctor to me are a good indication that names written as such in Viki subs are for English speaking audience to make the possible connection.

EDIT --- Just finished closely listening to the scenes in which names were spoken -- Viki subs written just exactly as spoken-- therefore you were correct and clearly my lack of understanding in falling for the given not family names both ending in  Seong -- Resulted in my mistaken posting.

Prosecutor Name came up in meting/lunch  between TS ES Killer

Manager now chauffeur name came up at end of EP 38 HW phone call to JE in his car and then sends picture.

EP 38 parking garage conversation SH MH Chauffeur scene talk about chauffeurs children, one of whom became a prosecutor other a doctor.
