  1. @LuMNaL I agree with your views and similarly about your thoughts regarding youth and the associated innocence and naivety that attached to an outlook in life. There's no denying that our outlook and take on life is very different when we're in our teens, early 20s right through to our 30s and then 40s. We see the world and people through our experiences and generally it's influenced by our family background, education and culture.

I understand to some extent why some viewers are annoyed by Qian Gu although I liked her character. It can be frustrating to watch her give people too many chances and taking them at face value when time and time again they proved to be untrustworthy. Perhaps many saw that as a weakness and wanted to shake her and tell her to have some spunk in her spirit. She was bullied and had to undergo some serious trial in order to be accepted and at times you want QianGu either not to care or develop some sass and tell them to get lost. But she's not like that, her personality is try and accept people the way they are despite their shortcomings and mistakes. It's her way and as noted previously I don't always agree with her approach and methods but I do understand them. She's also very young and her actions reflect that whereas BZH is quite the opposite and very mature.

I say our views are very similar because we're at a similar  stage in life including our age as well as our experiences:D

  2. @LuMNaL - lovely to hear from you! lol, your post was almost identical to mine. I wasn't completely banned from this forum. Similarly, I was able to read comments but 'not allowed' to participate and definitely wasn't allowed to stay up late watching dramas. I was more or less on a curfew :) It's all good now. I'm going to continue to wait for the complete 'uncut' DVDs. In the meantime, thank you everyone for keeping this forum alive and well, more importantly thank you for  the deleted scenes!!!!! You've made my day.

Keep posting - and here's to SXM concubine club :)

  3.   So Shifu is an immortal with no experience in women or dating.. My question is: where did her learn how to kiss like that?

@myden - lol, ahahaha I was thinking and asking myself the same question. Oh my goodness, I had to take a break from TJOF. I was way tooo obsessed and got into BIG trouble with my other BZH. He basically accused me of neglecting and ignoring him. Which I was - so I had to promise that I wont go on to this forum for about a month. What a lovely surprise! This is just too good!! I'm going to re-watch that vampire kiss. and salver the moment.

Oh I love it. Even now the chemistry between the two leads are off the Richter scale :)

  4.  @myden - lol let's ask the Concubine Club together with the SXM Consort Club to create a stampede and I'll deliberately 'push' you over and aim for a full body impact against Wallace. Come on if we're going to plan this it might as well be full skinship :P

Btw: I didn't want to burst your bubble but 2% of China's population (not including Taiwan) is still 12 million ladies in the running for Wallace's affection. So better make sure you're the ONE :)

  5. @xnancly - lol, your post was funny! Don't lose hope just yet. As they say 'opposites do attract' :)

The qualities describe approx. 500 million ladies in China (not including the rest of the world). He's keeping his options pretty open. Not that I was ever in the running. Don't worry, if I ever get delusional and think I'm the one! I count myself fortunate to have @IMOmusings to keep me in line :P

@tlt and @YangD for the translations. Thoroughly enjoying my special treat.

Also a special thank you note to @miaka fy @myden @BaiZiHua @mmrod_04 @Cupcakeninja @LuMNaL @jolin_chan @BellyButton @Bella-Chimura (sorry if I didn't mention your names) It's more the immediate posts and ones I could remember on the top of my head - For keeping this post alive!!!  We are all eagerly await for the uncut version.

Is it just me or Wallace's just a tad too skinny? His suit hanging on him. Poor man - he must be working too hard, plus it's a little disconcerting.

  6. @BaiZiHua and @LuMNaL

Anyone's welcome to join provided that I have him during the weekends :) As for 1st or 2nd wife, I'm not really into titles so happy to concede to @LuMNaL. Although I still prefer to have only one man but for SXM, I will make it an exception. Don't mind sharing him. I absolutely love his personality.

I already know what it's like to have a BZH type in my life so it will be interesting to see if I went for something a little different this time :P.

It's CONCUBINE and CONSORT Happy time!!

  7. @myden - hahahaha, I'm so pleased that you thought my comments were funny. My Aussie sense of humour frequently gets me into trouble. I can be highly inappropriate so I try to be a little more 'contained' in this forum :D

@IMOmusings - you wouldn't believe how much delight and enjoyment I've received reading your comment below. Literally, laughed my head off, and it was so spot on and that dry sense of humour - I love it!!

The one's who say she is not worthy are generally the ones with delusions of being the one. No one has the right to decide who he should or shouldn't date...other than maybe his parents...even then, in this day and age that's a bit borderline.

I can tell you there are some crazy Huomi's fans out there. Just because they're a public figure doesn't mean we 'own' him. Perhaps just as well some of the HuoMis can't read English they'll scratch our eyes out if they knew about our newly formulated Concubine Club.

@Bella-Chimura - ooohhh! You lovely girl giving me more pictures of Wallace. That man seriously needs to tone down his 'hotness'. Those pictures - again, he looks simply divine.

@funnlimmsia -  Agreed. Definitely not watching the modern series. I will wait for the uncut version.

  8. @periwinkle - I agree with @IMOmusings. I wouldn't place too much emphasis and weight on some of the comments. Frequently, they're said in the heat of the moment and we all get drawn (including myself, hehehe) into the discussion. Mind you, that's really part of the fun. No-one really take themselves too seriously..

You'll find that there are lovely people in this forum and they mean no harm but it's part of wanting the right girl for Wallace (if it isn't Liying). On a more personal note, I find it's pretty funny because the Concubine Club have invested a lot of time and emotion in this drama, and sometimes it's hard not to get caught up in the obsession, however if you feel that we're too intense just say it how it is and we'll agree to disagree on some things... :P

  9. oh on a side note - did anyone see SXM!! He looks very cute and not bad at all -,and he's so tall too (I do like him!) :) hehehehe

Yes, unfortunately I also saw the same sparks between Wallace and Frida during happy camp - very similar behaviour. In that she circles him like a Shark but he doesn't mind being the prey :D

Anyway, unless Wallace makes it official we can continue shipping our favourite couple. So don't worry too much about Frida, I believe his back problem is causing him to lean towards her as oppose to Liying.

@LuMNaL - hahaha, you're too funny, my other BZH just says - you're too obsessed! I think you should stop watching it. I just laugh.

  10. @IMOmusings - LOL, I know it's become dangerously epidermic. Gosh it's such a cut-throat world even with politics. Tony Abbot looks utterly devastated. We shall see how Malcolm Turnball is going to bring the Australian economy around. Especially with the mining boom over I wonder what other cash cow are they going to look for. However, he has much more economic clout than Abbott ever would. Exciting times ahead.

Sorry I'm not particularly affiliated with any political party but watching this unfold perturbs me greatly. I hope they can go back to running the country and put aside some of these schoolyard antics.

Re: Wallace weight - on a more positive note he's looking more chiselled and mouth-watering than usual :lol:

@YangD - you are too funny! I can always rely on you to put thing into perspective. I just like to look at Wallace's pretty face and as BZH - he was gorgeous and rather breathtaking. I don't say that about any man but he just looked beautiful , any at angle and shot (how about his HD1072 skin!) :)

You've just increased my obsession!!! LOL - oh my - I'm left rather speechless:) Phew those pictures - I may have to borrow SQM peacock fan.

  11. @YangD - Sorry a little off topic but got very distracted with the leadership challenge here in Australia. We have a new Prime Minister. Who's says Australian politics is boring.

Anyway back to Wallace. I've noticed he's lost a lot of weight but who cares - he still manages to look amazing and handsome :D. I have to admit my other BZH type isn't too happy that I'm so obsessed with this drama and of course Wallace. He doesn't say anything but every-time I'm on this forum - he gives me this "look" which incidentally looks like Sifu (hehehe). He purses his lips and looks very disapproving.

In a manner that is very unlike QG - I just ignore him :D

  12. @Bella-Chimura - hahahahaha. I was thinking exactly the same thing but you expressed 100000 times better than I did. HIGH FIVE!!!

@myden - You are AWESOME!! I am very grateful for the translations! I know it's not easy, and then having to type it all out!! Thank you very much for your hard work. :wub::wub:

@YangD - Love the pictures. You're so biased towards Wallace but I love it (hehehe)

  13.

@LuMNaL - thank you kindly for your efforts. Sadly I don't read Vietnamese. I can only speak Cantonese and predominantly English. I'll try and watch it again, hopefully I can apply some of my language skills and decipher what they're saying. Some words are a little difficult to understand. Again, appreciate your efforts and thank you for the video :)

@Cupcakeninja Even though, I don't understand them completely I really love their interactions. It's super cute and I adore this couple, even if there's no rumour of them dating. Oh well, I can only dream about it, if nothing else.

I want them to be together from reel to real :lol:

@YangD - lol, just saw your pictures. Totally understand your sentiments!! I had panda eyes to make Sexy Sifu proud when the final episodes were airing, then my early morning start gosh! This so funny because I was also about to put up the same profile picture on this forum (he looks gorgeous doesn't, he?!!!). I can't on my iPhone because my other BZH type wouldn't be very happy about it :D

@mmrod_04 - love how you called your other half "Fated Calamity" - that's so funny

@myden - Same here, every-time I talk about Hua Qian Gu to my friends and especially my Chinese colleagues (who I expect to know this drama, right?!) wrong - they all look at my pitifully. LOL

Concubine club! Ladies, you're hilarious and funny. LOL. I won't join the club because one of my greatest flaw is that I don't like to share my man. Although (please Wallace fans, don't hate me), I feel so sorry for him to be hounded like that. He's so nice to them, very patient and respectful. I know it's the price of fame and all, but still I don't know why looking at them taking pictures of him doing really mundane things is such an invasion of his privacy. Then waiting at the airport at 5am in the morning to obtain his autograph *sigh* I don't understand this kind of madness and fan level. Anyway, unless our stars align and if I'm ever in Taiwan and he's just happens to be throwing out the rubbish, I don't think we'll ever be fated to meet :P Honestly, I will admire him from afar, although I can't promise it won't be in pervert mode.

@myden - Oh good I thought I was the only one who felt that way. Give me a high-five! :) Although, I understand that @IMOmusings wasn't trying to be rude or targeting anyone in particular. We felt it was harsh because we're all so involved in these characters. So no harm done - besides, I promise myself not to take things to heart :)

@mmrod_04 - I really like that you always have your priorities right! There were some heavy discussion going around about QG & BZH and you wanted to make sure we voted for Wallace :). That's excellent, reminded that this is reason we're on the forum. Come on, let's admit it - it's really a guise for another Wallace fan page :)

@YangD - my fellow Australian! I always love your post because you read what I've read in BZH's expression. Yes, I agree there were some dirty looks directed at DF (still manages to look sexy and handsome at the same time). Remember the scene when DF calls QG his wife, just look at BZH's expression - he definitely wasn't happy and I loved it!!!

@jly31 - sorry, I know you've responded directly to me post so apologies for missing it.

@jolin_chan and @jly31 I'll respond to your post on BZH's personality and character.

Both your analysis were excellently drawn and you're both absolutely spot on about BZH psyche and his views regarding QG and their love.

I knew before the ending that BZH felt shame and disgust (which was more directed at himself) that he has fallen in love with his disciple. Sadly, QG was right, that BZH would rather die than admit his love for her. I know she also mentioned that he would regret his actions and lack of confession and again it was true because at the end, her death caused his derangement for the next 30 years. Similarly to Wu Guo, he couldn't accept that he loved his Fated Calamity and tried to 'avoid' it but ultimately cause both parties to suffer considerably. I understand BZH's personality and character but just like QG I don't always agree that he knows what best for her.

Moreover, I don't agree with his approach just right before QG's death not to confess his feelings but I do understand them. He wouldn't be BZH if that was the case. I know he held on his principles and hence at the very end he confessed that he was wrong and he really regretted his stubbornness.

I know some of you thought that at the end of the series, it appeared to hint that BZH continued to act more like a master than a romantic partner. But I beg to differ. BZH appears to be considerate to QG's age. QG's hair style suggested that she may be back to her younger age stage. So it would be inappropriate to act like a lover towards QG. While they were on the raft, BZH accepted QG physical touch (i.e. leaning on his back). This suggested that BZH was no longer putting a wall between QG and him, instead he is letting QG dictate the speed of their relationship, unlike previously.

@jly31 - I totally agree with here. He's has changed considerably and although their relationship isn't sexual so to speak he definitely loves her romantically and he's waiting for her to regain her memory because he will allow QG to choose for herself, however, he will ensure she chooses him again :) Look at the raft scene, although it isn't lover type behaviour it's definitely not simply teacher-disciple relationship. This time he's much more open-minded and no longer stubborn (like previously) about their relationship. Kudos to the actors because Wallace's expression is full of tenderness and love for his disciple.  It's subtle but you just tell his feelings have changed, perhaps not so much his behaviour but you can tell by that lovely smile! He looks so contented and for the first time is very accepting of the love he has for her.

As noted before, I really like the ending, just wanted more scenes of my favourite Fated Couple :)

  15. @IMOmusings - oopps sorry I hope I wasnt too strong with my response. If I was, then my apologies :)

I agree with your comments that it's definitely not an excuse to torture BZH, I felt sad watching those scenes, that their relationship has been reduced to such a state.

@jolin_chan - I love your analysis of BZH. I would like to add my comments (I hope you wont mind) tomorrow. It's been an emotional week and I'm still digesting the final episodes of Hua Qian Gu, and having since watched it with english subtitle it feels surreal that the drama is finally finished. Although, I'm even keener to watch the uncut version. I think there will be some closure once we see the complete 54 episodes :)

  16. @IMOmusing, I think there should be some clarity around QG's behaviour. I never condone her behaviour, although I did note that I understood her feelings for cursing BZH and forcing him to kill her. Understanding doesn't constitute accepting her behaviour was right or virtuous. On the contrary, as noted above I said I didn't always agree with her approach but I understand them.

I will stand by my views that some comments made about QG were a little harsh, however let's agree to disagree.

  17. @myden - I totally agree on your take. I know when QG transformed into the DG she's isn't the sweet and innocent Little Bone anymore. I know to a certain extent she did want BZH to suffer and hence the "torture" scenes. I did miss the sweet QG but at the same time I wanted her to stand up for herself and really show these hypocritical sect leaders what she's made of.

More importantly, she needed to be on par with BZH. If she didn't transform the relationship would have remained stagnant and BZH would have done everything he can (including MY) not to change the status quo.

It's sad to see how the relationship panned out but I am hooked (with a capital 'H') because the relationship is very complex and it demonstrates the conditions of the human heart so beautifully.

We react so strongly to their relationship because we've invested time in these characters and we are involved but on a more personal level I believe that we recognise ourselves (certain elements) of our personality in these characters and we respond to them because it speaks to our heart at a deep and profound level. I can certainly speak for myself.

The obsession, the infatuation and rejection, anger, love (including unrequited), lust and desires, the consequences of our actions or lack of. They all speak of the human condition. There are metaphors proliferated across the drama (and even the novel) which demonstrates the frailty of the human heart and that is why this drama is so immensely popular because it connects people at different stages in their lives.

I hope everyone on this forum understands that my posting and opinions about the drama is not to offend or cause dissension as I have immense respect for everyone's here on this forum. It is also not my intent to play devil's advocate. They are my heartfelt views about the drama.

I sincerely hope through our posts we get to know each other better and more importantly obtain a better understanding of our differences :)

  18. The crux of the drama isn’t about perfect love but the conditions of the human heart and accepting human frailties.

I feel that some frustration aimed at QG is a little unfair. I know she’s not perfect and I would never agree that her approach is always right but I never believed her to be deliberately and intentionally cruel or vindictive even when she was the Demon Goddess.

Her actions stemmed from the hurt and pain which was inadvertently caused or contributed by Zi Hua.

Haven't we all felt at some point in our lives where we’ve been so angry that we just want to lash-out at the person you love most?

QG is still a relatively young girl. I’m not particularly surprised by her teenage behaviour but to condemn her for actions as spiteful and mean because she wanted to “get back” at BZH in my opinion is a little harsh.

Even when she cursed him, she didn’t want him to die with her knowing how stubborn he could be, he would have followed her once she was gone.

So no, I don’t think she only hated him, there was protection and care at the end of it.

I total agree with myden and Soniya15, I would under those circumstances curse him as well.

He’s so heartless, never to have admitted his love her and to cut off the scar, oh dear, that was the pinnacle of “angst” and worse it was very hurtful to QG. I’m not saying who’s wrong or right but in any relationship it’s important to be honest, expressing how you feel about someone is just as important as the actions.

I know he was disgusted and disappointed that he had romantic feelings for his disciple which is a big no, no but to deny her the one thing she wanted to hear just before her death was heartless and it’s something I don’t understand. Now having seen it in the drama - I'm still left clueless.

It’s no wonder he went crazy. It’s all that repressed emotions and deep regret that he didn’t tell her he loved when he had the opportunity (many times) to do so.

Don’t get me wrong I still love BZH but he’s definitely not an easy man to love.
