Night is kind of not redeemable to me. At least if the drama keeps going by the book. I mean the only actually selfless nice thing he does is give XF the paintings JM made of him. I think he found some sort of inner peace by the epilogue. I have been seeing a lot of comments on how Night has the right personality to be an Emperor like scheming, backstabbing, etc. So that he was destined to be Emperor while XF was more of the give up everything for love type of guy. In the end, Night ends up being a lot like the current Emperor in what he did in order to reach the throne.
I wouldn't mind a side story with Night and how he redeems himself in some sort of way. While I do think his actions towards XF and JM are 100% wrong. I also think he realized a bit that he was wrong after JM jumped in front of XF and that is why he let them be at the end. So it would be interesting for them to show him doing something to redeem himself. But if I were XF or JM, I would still never want to see him again.

I saw this pic online which means that they are probably going to end on that epilogue.
I think this is the same river in the underworld and they are just going to add some CGI. Thoughts?

I am really hating Night these past episodes. In fact everyone related to XF is pretty despicable. He is the best out of the bunch and he is the one that ends up being a demon lord, says a lot.

it seems that RY knows about it bc he read about it on a book and he took a guess that she one and that is when he took it out and decided to repair it.
XF doesnt know about it and shouldnt know about it until the very end </3
Someone asked about the Jimin inside the frost flower and I think that is her real self. As in fully aware of all her emotions and feelings. I feel extra bad for the Jimin inside the frost flower bc she cant do anything but sit back and watch. I think that will be the reason for her to spill the pill bc she has that part of her inside that is somewhat aware.

I agree 100%
YangZi gets a lot of hateful comments bc she always gets casted in otherworldly beautiful roles when she is not considered that pretty and even gets a lot of plastic sx hate. But she has the range to play JM, I can think of few other up and coming actresses that could have pulled it off. Maybe Li Qin but she is not as popular. I also think she looks very pretty as JM. She also looked pretty in Chusen.
I was also happy with Deng Lun being casted as XF. And now I am extra happy bc I am liking how everything is coming together. I think Night was also casted really well. Whoever casted everyone, great job!

I am watching the clips off the official channel for today's episode and
RY did it poor JM and XF
He saw them mutually cultivating from a dream and then JM refused his kiss so
It is so horrible what he does to her. Why couldnt he let them be happy? If XF hadnt come back alive she would have been driven mad.
She looses all memory of what happened in the human realm and about her feelings for XF. Prepare your tissues.
Also, before her memory/feeling wipe JM gives XF a piece of her real self. On the trailer we see that after he is revived he gives it back to her.

I think most dramas that I have seen live have "fanwars" due to too much time for supporting characters at one point or another. Ratings went down a little during the human realm due too much time for supporting characters, now that they are back in heaven they are going up again. It should be more about them from now on. I think they mainly do it to have more episodes.

I haven't seen the last three or so episodes so I can't recap sorry. I have just been looking at spoilers on weibo.
So it seems that in the drama after mutual cultivation RY restores the unfeeling pill inside of Jimin and that is why she changes
This makes his actions so much worse than in the book. He pretty much robs her of her happiness and tricks her into killing the man she loves/his brother.
Today's episodes will be the happiest for a long time, prepare your heart and tissues.Like I said before I expected the drama would eventually show him as a villain. But </3 </3

It says 3&4 today but I think they go by dates in China so the first two came out late 8/20 and the next 2 should come out late 8/21 CST (China Standard Time)
So their episodes could to be like 33 episodes behind the mainland version. At least it is not one of those that we only get them after all the episodes air in China and at least Viki licensed it.

I was looking at the screenwriters for this drama and one the best known one worked on The Mystic Nine and that one had a lot of heavy screen time for supporting characters to the point where it was ridiculous lol so probably the inspiration for all the extra supporting characters TV time in this drama.

but I live in the real world. And that unfeeling pill...truly her undoing. Honestly, in my opinion, you should not stop someone from experience their trials, esp love trials. They can be hurtful, but it's also an opportunity for growth and wisdom.
I've seen Deng Lun before and thought he was cute. He's quite good in this show. He's so pale with milky skin...but homie needs to moisturize his lip haha. The other guy who plays Ren Yu is too skinny, but he plays his role well too. They both have such great speaking voices. Yang Zi is Yang Zi...these kind of dense roles are appropriate for her looks. At least she's seems like the kind of dense that doesn't talk that much (which makes that parts where she talks out of turn odd). I haven't been impressed with any of her works since Battle of Changsha (soooooo heart wrenching and good). It's kinda of hard to avoid her these days, huh?
Same. Battle of Changsha was her peak acting for me and then she kind of went downhill, but I just think she was not giving good material. Her acting skills were trending yesterday. She really has a good emotional range and I hope she is able to get better works in the future.
I think this is probably Deng Lun's best acting drama in the lead role. I didnt see White Deer Plain but I know people praised him for his performance there. Same for Luo Yunxi. I also find him too skinny lol but it fits with Night really well.
As for JM's attractiveness to the main leads. I think XF fell in love with her innocence and personality not her looks. The human realm trial is suppose to reinforce that. Also, he did mentioned it when he said he liked JM in front of the flower fairies.
As for RY, I personally don't think he loves her. I saw someone explain my point much more accurate where he never experiences love and he doesnt understand the emotion. JM is the first person that was kind to him without any pretense and complimented his appearance and he wanted her to keep doing that. He wanted her affection not matter if she wanted it or not, he just wanted to experience that and he felt like she was the only person that could honestly give it to him since he does have a lot of complexes about himself. That is why he develops an obsession with her that leads him to do all these horrible things imo. But I don't consider it love bc if he loved her he wouldn't want her to suffer and cause her pain. I personally think that when you love someone you just want them to be happy.
I think JM will carry a lot of emotional weight in the end. Her character does come around a long way from the beginning, she does a lot of repenting. Also, she starts off so dumb in a way but by the time she figures out Night she is able to realize all the instances that he did trick her.

Then there's also ry voicing that sounds so smooth and gentle.
They definitely did the right choice in using their real voices.
I am happy with all their voice acting, it was the right choice for them to dub themselves. Deng Lun said that it was hard to dub the emotional scenes bc you had to get in that mindset again.

Also, it seems that they retained the memories of the human world. I saw the clip pre-mutual cultivation and he reminds her that she promised to marry him and she says that she has a marriage contract so he asks what if there is no marriage contract and she tells him that naturally she would fulfill her promise and they kiss.
Fans are saying that in another clip RY gives her some time of memory suppression pill bc he sees them kissing together and decides that nothing will take her away from him, even herself I guess. One clip has her asking to end the marriage contract so I guess that is pre-pill.

I dont think Night is correct on his actions but I do think Luo Yunxi is doing a great job. He improved a lot from My Sunshine and I am glad he is gaining some popularity due to this drama
I don't know if this is true but I saw somewhere that Yangzi asked Deng Lun to read the scrip for HSALF, she had him in mind to play Phoenix. Anyone knows if this is true?

When I read the book up until I found out that Night was truly the evil mastermind, I felt very sorry for him. I didn't want him to get with JM bc it takes two to tango and it was obvious that she never loved him and only loved XF. But I did feel very sorry for him and wanted only good things to happen to him. Then I found out everything he did and what he kept on doing afterwards and my pity flew right out of the window. I was like he needs karma
I do understand book fans being annoyed that they are trying to whitewash his character, which it does come that way as of now but I am hopeful that later on his wrong doings will be plain for everyone to see like they were in the book. I don't think you could read the book and be like yeah Night was correct on deceiving JM and killing his brother for his own selfish desires bc at the end of the day he does it bc his selfish desires. He doesn't even consider what she wants until she sacrifices herself and then he finally gives up. He was going to force her to stay with him if she hadn't run away so he was escalating on his obsession and I think it was a wake up call for JM to die to save whatever was left of his good side.
There are some ridiculous comments out there like JM is at fault bc she didn't love Night and that as long as she had loved him he wouldnt have turned bad. But it takes two people for love to be mutual, she shouldnt have to love him. I also think that most people loved XF after the book ended, you didnt know how to feel about him for a large portion of the book.

I think a lot of book fans are angry that there is so much focus on secondary characters including RY when the storyline is all about JM and XF. They did add a lot of extra stuff to the drama that was not in the book. From my experience if you want to keep original fans happy you should never give a lot of screen time to the supporting characters. They are just watching for the main couple and will complaint a lot if they feel cheated out of what they wanted. This happens like every time.
I do feel bad for Night but I still don't think he is justified on hurting JM and XF.

Not a lot of people bc we dont have official subs yet. If subs were coming out from DF/Viki then more people would be seeing it.

Could be the type of license that you have to wait until it finishes airing in China like Untouchable Lovers. Also the team subbing it on Viki is the busiest subbing team on Viki, they have a lot of projects. Probably the fastest subs are going to be those coming out of that other place that licensed it. But Viki will have higher quality subs, which will take time.

He doesn't in the novel but it looks like he is getting married to her in the drama. There are pictures of both SH and JM with dark wedding gowns so people thought that he imagines JM as he is marrying SH while others think JM will interrupt the wedding and that is when they reconcile.

Thanks for the clip, Jin Mi looks badass flighting with Sui Hi. But yeah, when Phoenix protects her and attacks her with fire, I love how his own Phoenix feather protects Jin Mi from himself. Sorry for repeating myself. Can't get over it.
Btw, I've been late to work almost every day the past week thanks to this drama. No regrets though.
Lastly, this is only my second time watching Deng Lun in a drama. I watched Sweet Dreams while waiting for HSALF and didn't think much of him. But in HSALF, I think he is just so swoony
I think Deng Lun fits the sweet guy roles. Like when he is smart but he is in love with the girl and he does a lot of sweet things for her like Because of You and HSALF. In Sweet Dreams he was playing the cold CEO and that doesnt fit him. His best moments on Sweet Dreams were him just being cute and sweet.
He is seriously swoony in this drama, all his little smiles and love filled eyes <3

Yes, all mutual cultivation will happen in their true form which I am more than happy with. In the novel, for the first mutual cultivation, you could feel Xu Feng's frustration leading up to the event in the garden. Jin Mi better be prepared because I think in the drama his desires are doubly heightened following everything that happened in the mortal realm.

So she tells him she loves him even before knowing that he wasnt the one that killed her father. There is also another confrontation where she is fighting SH and XF protects SH.
Also I think in the drama maybe she doesnt get attacked from both sides? His power is def yellow when he attacks her while defending SH but during the war it is blue. So maybe what we are seeing is her power flying to protect him (???) I am confused. It does look like a blue force shield around her form when RY attacks XF.

yeah, I feel pretty much the same way. I think the drama is purposely drawing up a lot of similarities between them. I don't remember seeing them in the book. I also think just like his father, RY never sees himself as doing something wrong until JM sacrifices herself. That was his wake up.

I think this one is one of the best xianxias I have seen.
I do think that he does get taken advantage of and the main reason like someone else said is his stupid bird brain
