I honestly wish she would just leave the drama. Pay some termination fee and move on to a different project. From all the rumors coming out, this production is a big mess.
The author could sue since they are damaging her work, but it wont matter much. Look how many cdrama productions got taken to court and nothing.
Almost everyone is supporting ZLY. Book fans are upset and the general public thinks this is a good opportunity to do something about these recent cdrama practices of adding fillers to promote supporting characters with backers. So I think most people feel that this is good. I cant imagine how bad things were for ZLY to speak up. The script must be awful.
This is a female centric drama, that means that it should be based around ZLY's character. You could have interesting storylines with supporting characters without cutting from the main character storyline. Just look at Minglan, I loved so many side characters and it still felt like Minglan's story.

What happens is that they hire ZLY and they know the drama will have buzz then these companies pay extra to promote their artists within the drama. A lot of stuff coming out is really off putting. Like how they didn't even give ZLY proper costumes when compared to the other ladies, etc.
This is going to be a pass for me, will wait until another drama comes out. I have already seen my fair chair of botched adaptations.

Fans of the book were also very upset. I saw that the cast and crew blew everything off. Like the original writer asked for an explanation if untrue but they are just trying to ignore it. I think that says that it is true, but hopefully they wont go super crazy with changes now that ZLY put them in the spotlight. She needs to stop working with production agencies that care more about heat than storytelling. This drama already feels like a waste of her time.

It was mostly about Huang Zixia solving murder mysteries with the help of Li Shubai and her dead body obsessed friend/assistant Zhou Ziqin.She eventually discovers that the real culprit behind the death of her family was actually her childhood friend whom she had romantic feelings for.
There was some political intrigue involved because Li Shubai’s brother the Emperor wants to kill him. Their father the late Emperor, painted a weird picture that seemed to indicate that he wanted Li Shubai to be his heir.
I don't remember much, but I think the romance develops later than book 2 maybe 3. She keeps trying to solve different mysteries in each book and the big mystery of what happened to her family throughout them.
Overall it was a bit meh for mystery romance, but I like the will they or won't they trope it had going all along. -
So sad so for ZLY and all the Legend of Fei drama. I think she made a big mistake choosing that project. It is full of newcomers, except for her and obviously their companies are trying to push for more screen time and fillers etc. I guess they feel that they are paying just to bring in the ratings and buzz and she shouldn't care how bad the drama turns out to be.
She needs to work with more respected productions like Daylight. At the same time it is hard to find production companies as dedicated to storytelling as Daylight.

Does this have a happy ending?
Well at least the team doing this also worked with Boss & Me, but that had way more romance/comedy.

Wang YiBo looks a bit too young for my taste ( look/acting wise the other guy from the Untamed would fit better with her imo), but for this type of drama the only thing you need is buzz. At least, I am liking his looks here better than in the Untamed, I think that pulled back hair made him look way younger.
I was hoping she would move to more Minglan like projects, which I really really enjoyed. But there probably wasnt a good script. Those ancient dramas are also a landmine. Anyone knows if this story has a happy ending and what is the production team?
I read that it has the same director from PA

On the bright side she has two Magnolia nominations, which is pretty impressive. Hopefully next time.

Thankfully, I was able to get pregnant right away and now have a daughter. But like I said it made me feel like I didn't want to share my pregnancy until I felt like it was safe so I wouldnt get asked painful questions. I understand ZLY not wanting to share something so personal. Everyone is different but I just feel like some people are unable to think why someone would keep it secret and I was giving my two cents ^^

I posted this at the otp thread and reposting here.
I just want to mention that a lot of people are saying that ZLY shouldn't have denied her pregnancy. So if you do the math you will see that in late July there were rumors that she was 3 months pregnant, which her staff denied. There was no way for her to be 3 months pregnant in July. If she was pregnant it was probably less than a month and unlikely that she would have noticed. Women notice their pregnancy when they are already at least 5-6 weeks pregnant.

On top of that, pregnancies are a very personal thing. Miscarriages happen. Most women prefer not to report their pregnancies until they are safe (way beyond the first trimester). It is very hard to deal with miscarriage so imagine having a bunch of reporters asking you about it and sneaking into hospitals to get your personal information.
Some people online love to badmouth her, but these are the facts.
On a personal note, I've had a miscarriage and I don't know if ZLY ever had one but I know that after such an experience you are less likely to want your pregnancy to be known. At least that was the way for me and I understand her. Before a celebrity she is a human being. I think people who haven't experienced this stuff dont understand and there seems to be a taboo about women speaking of stuff like this.

I am glad she found a new team to manage her. Hopefully this means that she plans to return sooner than people were expecting. Probably in 1-2 years. XieNa and Angelababy went back to work the same year so I don't doubt that ZLY will probably not take super long to come back. But I am also happy that she and FSF are both taking time off to enjoy their family. They have plenty of money so they should enjoy it.

Same i I stopped watching as soon as I realize Jin Han sister was just there to be a romantic interest and they started introducing all the love lines and ZZZzzzzz lol And it was through that Grace since her introduction has always been in each episodes.
He gained more recognition due to ZLY and OGT, but when I see Huang Bin promoting him ...
He is a good actor just not attractive imo.
Right now, she is going to take a break and not jump back to work which I think it is a good thing. As much as I like seeing her dramas, having a baby is hard. I think she worked hard enough to enjoy spending time with her baby at home without rushing back to work.

Thirdly, she can't explained or complained as OGT was the project by her manager, huang bin to raise the popularity of jinhao which was under huang bin at the time. She does not even like to star in romance drama.
I hope in the future she can star in more quality production like minglan or under noon production and co star with big name quality actor like hu ge, huang xuang or maybe her hubby (if the script is right) . She deserves that. Or maybe another drama with zyl. The will make a cute couple.
So I remember when OGT was announced a lot of fireflies were really upset bc the rumor was the Huang Bin was using it to promote his actors and got ZLY stuck with the drama in between filming not letting her rest before Minglan. She was filming like two things at a time with a really hard schedule. Then Jin Han and the other guy wrote on their weibo that they were under ZLY's studio. HOWEVER, after OGT Jin Han removed that from his bio and now that ZLY is not longer with Huang Bin, he is still promoting Jin Han. All of this leads me to believe that the rumor that her fans had at the begining was true. I dont think Jin Han is under her studio but under Huang Bin and that they just said that to avoid her fans making a big deal. I am glad that ZLY left Huang Bin.
Anyways, I stopped watching OGT early on bc it just didnt keep my interest. ZLY was super cute but they added so much stuff to the book. What I liked about the book was that it was just about their relationship. A let down because she rarely films modern dramas and I was really looking forward to it. Hopefully, next time she gets a better script.

actually not really that low, I was expecting something like that with a slow climb to 1%. It is doing better than the previous drama on that time slot already.
Dramas have not fared well in ratings this year. For this type of drama this is the norm plus this drama has had very little promotion, even by ZLY.

I also think that after OGT airs, she will probably reach 80 million. Her follower count always goes up after a drama.
This is her first modern drama in years so she is bound to reach new audience.
If she keeps it like this, she will join Xiena on crossing 100 million.

I dont think it has anything to do with FSF. Huang Xuaming and Huang Bing parted ways because HXM wasn't happy with the resources he was getting, his fans were also unhappy with his projects. As for ZLY, I think a few things led to her decision. One, contract coming up for renewal and him opening up his own studio. Two, I felt like his staff went with positive or negative publicity is good publicity and they rarely defended ZLY from rumors or answered rumors. And finally, I just dont think he was getting her the stuff that fits her image. Nothing wrong with trying to be different, but her image is different from the resources he was getting her. She is the girl next door type of actress. And I think she wants to be considered as a serious actress and not so much a celebrity.
I just hope her next manager is good. I think ZLY and Huang Bin had a really good relationship and got along really great, which was really different from her previous manager.

I do think this article implies that the government is about to get mixed in. Today it also made the news. I think the fact that they give a script to actors when signing on to the project then drastically changed it later is wrong. It happened with Ashes of Love and I remember Liu YiFei complained about her drama script too. So it happens to everyone, but it shouldn't happen.
Whatever she is filming right now is not the story she liked. But probably too late to quit, just has to power through. She needs to pick her projects better.
