lol Deng Lun probably avoided that, no good answer. I do think he is friends with Yangzi while he is not close to Reba but no need to bring him into the fight.

The difference between TV version and DVD version is how they cut the episodes to include commercials. When episodes air on TV, they add like 15 minutes + of commercials in between the two episodes. This amount of commercial varies, I guess they do some real time tracking for ratings. But some episodes are shorter while others are longer, etc. They also have a recap of the previous episodes and a preview of the next episodes. When we see episodes online, we don't see any of that. But that difference adds up and that is why episode count differs from DVD to TV version. At least that is my understanding of it.

I will check out both dramas from Deng Lun, even if I am not too optimistic. Plot wise they dont look like my thing. Also, Go Go Squid with YangZi. I really like the book it is based on, probably more than I liked HSALF bc it is just fluffness.
I would love for YangZi and Deng Lun to work on a modern drama together. An original script would be better but those are hard to find nowadays. If they are doing an adaptation then Best to Have Met You. Even if they dont fit the image that I originally had in mind, I think acting wise they would do really good with the plot and I love that story <3

I also can't accept SH's ending. She was not that bad for a villain. Like I dont get how you justify RunYu just being alone while SH had to suffer that. I would say RY is responsible for way more bad deeds that SH. I felt that it was very unfair and way too cruel what they did to her. I don't think XF should have let that happened. The book did it better.

I havent seen it but fans dont seem too happy with the ending, not enough sweetness or interactions between our couple.
Could have been better but it is a happy ending so lets rejoice, we know how hard those are to come by

I agree a lot with your post. I found him more ambiguous in the book while in the drama most of his actions seem to root on his jealousy of XF and his own selfishness. He never regrets his actions and even until the end, he thinks he made all the right choices. That by itself makes it hard to redeem him. He is also always saying that he did everything bc he loved JM but most of his actions were to hurt JM, never thinking about what she wanted only what he wanted.
As for the paintings I think the book version makes him look better bc he goes to see XF and give him the paintings while in the drama XF comes to see him. In the drama, it makes even less sense that his only punishment is loneliness. After everything he did as a villain, he should have gotten more of a punishment. Some of the minor villains got a lot worse and they did nothing in comparison. Just look at SH's excessive punishment in drama compared to the book where she was just in heavenly jail. That was another point on his favor in the book, when he took it into his own hands to punish SH for JM.

Today was just the set up for tomorrow. XF was finally investigating stuff. Other pieces are lining up.
I guess tmr JM finds out about RY during the first episode and wedding is during the second episode.
Drama reached 10 billion views for those that keep track.

Maybe the scene where XF backhugs her is after the wedding scene, and they do make up before the war breaks out. If that's true, that would be so devastating for XF - losing JM right after they decide to finally reconcile.
yeah dont know why she would but she def doesnt want to marry RY anymore bc she found out everything he did and she asks him to please let her go then he locks her up. The back hug is after the wedding fiasco.

I think it is her acting on her own. Before that Night had locked her up and drugged her. He says that the wedding will go as planned so I think PuChi and the Moon god rescue her and help take her to XF for various reasons. First they want to help them get together and second if the Emperor wants to force JM to marry him the only safe place for her is in the Demon realm. People from the flower world are gutsy but they are not powerful and everyone wants her to marry Night except for her friends.

Night never thought JM was a hostage. He knew she escaped but he used it to wedge a war against XF. He must be really delusional to think that someone that told him she could only love XF and that he had to lock up to stay with him didnt leave him on her own. But since the drama is making it seem like his craziness is escalating and he has a tendency to trick himself, who knows.
I feel like drama Night is much more evil than book Night. I am going to be so mad that he doesn't get any punishment for his actions.

Yea, i also confuse about this. Maybe need to wait for the sub then can get more understand the storyline.

Hapiangle: XF threw the feather (hairpin, huan di feng ling) towards JM but the feather chooses to protect JM instead of hurting her. XF got frustrated and pulled the feather back to destroy it.
I think deep inside XF din realize that he still love JM that is why the hairpin is still protecting her.
Btw... how come the emperor have XF hairpin?

not 100% sure but I believe the feather can only protect. Every occasion it was used for protecting and he initially gave it to JM for protection. So I don't think he threw it and it chose to protect. Once he saw it in his hand, he knew the feather was going to protect her so he threw his attack along with the feather knowing nothing would happen. Then he said the feather betrayed him bc he doesnt want to seem weak towards JM (as in easily taken advantage of by the person who killed you).
Maybe what happened was that he was going to attack her and the feather appeared on his hand kind of subconsciously bc he wanted to protect her and he just let it happen. But is angry at himself for wanting to protect her that is why he says he is going to destroy it for betraying him.
I believe his uncle used the feather to protect himself and the Emperor from RY during the wedding. When the Emperor sacrificed himself he used the feather to hold on to XF's soul and gave it to SH.

Probably wanted to avoid any rumors with Reba since her fanbase is bigger it could have lead to problems. Very few active forum members that like Deng Lun

I just realized his next drama is also a flower related drama. Was he going for a theme?
I am usually not a fan of Reba's acting but she did well with this role. It just fit her and they are cute together on screen. They are the highlight of the drama lol

I liked ChenMo. Dont know if he looks like a young HuGe, for some reason HuGe just looks like Mei Changsu to me Now I feel like I should watch that variety show. Maybe after I am done with both HSALF and Sweet Dreams. I tried the Keyman show but really not my style, at least the first episode.

I want another LYF- ZYL drama but sadly this rumor seems unlikely with Zheng Shuang there. ZLY and Zheng Shuang are too popular on their own to work on a drama together. It is like having YangMi and ShiShi working on a drama at their current popularity.
