I don't mind bad reviews as long as they're logic. I do know people are different and one person love something the other hates - it happens all the time. This one was plain stupid. And the examples what was wrong were like "whatever - I just hate it for no reason".
I wonder if we'll see in next episodes the solving of the case he's thinking about. The one with his high school sweetheart. This will be painful but LJG is so good with showing deeply hidden emotions that break his character's heart.
Btw his character was introduced to us in a v. interesting way. He's a tough guy but at the same time he has great contact with kids, so he's more like a gentle soul. Just those things to love Hyun Jun - perfect partner who is for some reason lonely. My heart flutters.
Those pictures above are killer. LJG is cute beyond words.
@cedarwood i think the nadeul river case will be a pivotal one... so i won´tt expect it to be solved soon. i guess we will see hints about it little by little. the highlighted part: totally agree!!!!!

@cedarwood happy to see you here! i also love episode 3 (LJG was all kind of wonderful) and got heartbroken and scared with episode 4. It also irritates me the bad reviews and absurd critics. i just don´t understand them. maybe they´re watching another show? What made me laugh the most are people saying that LJG has so much screen time, when i think he doesn´t have enough!!! lol. and his character is love, how people doesn´t like him. So far CM is a very good drama (like every LJG's drama) and his HJ is awesome and lovable!

@lisethvr you're so right! that's why i felt i was missing something in that scene.. i already watched it in the preview.. i don´t understand just a few more seconds couldn´t do any harm... why was the scene edited so... i'm starting to worry, and not because of this scene. But they edited so much of the bomb scene and the reunion with his sister, and they where important scenes in the drama

@pixelsticks I can't understand why so many scenes didn't make it to the episodes. And they tortured us showing what we lost in those BTS pictures and videos. I feel robbed. I want more LJG in my screen not only in pictures (the number of LJG pictures is huge compared to other members of the cast, not that I' m complaining.)
BTW seems to me that we have more LJG scenes in odd episodes and more KH scenes in even episodes. Then odd episodes have more action and feel more fast and even episodes are slower and have more gore scenes. Will it be a pattern?
Any way I still have to watch episode 4 with subs, but I think I like odd episodes better

Hi guys, i tried to PM @q4q4 and @Siracusa but i can´t. don´t know why.
i really dislike all the baddies in moon lovers (wich means they did their jobs right) but i kind of like Yo. in the end i pity him a little. So that's why i suggested if i can join you. Of course i don´t have much time, but i think maybe i could do something small and easy like his background. tell me if you think i could be of any help to you

He looks so lovely and... casual. I don't know if this word is the best to describe what's on my mind. But as Wang So LJG looked as if he went straight from heaven and in CM he looks as if you could meet him anytime on a street.
If the show will look as first 2 episodes they won't have time to have a romance. Besides I wouldn't mind if those characters were a bit like their boss - the love life outside the work. Normal husband or boyfriend, normal wife or girlfriend.
Friends outside work, family too. I love that team leader Kang has his family and that Hyun Jun has this little sister figure to care about.
I got some sleep, thank you!!!! tough i don´t think i will have much sleep while CM is airing... i love that he looks so casual too, like a guy i could meet on a street only if i met a guy like him would drop dead. and i´m ok with no romance between SW and HJ but we need a little romance. But KKH seems like an emotional conversationalist. So let's see! But my guess is that they will work through their issues while "in action taking down criminals and solving crimes together"...building trust. I was always told if you want to have a great convo with a guy/brother/son/father, go play basketball or a game or "do" something. And drill them then! Ironically car rides have been my best bet lately with a guy friend. So I am digging the "car ride confessionals" between SW & HJ.

I’ve never watched any K Drama while it was airing – I usually wait until the drama is finished airing and then watch the episodes continuously – it was easy for me, less tension and no need to wait for a week. I've got it so bad for JG that I watched the livestream of CM (thanks @Linda Gunawan for the link), and then watched it again the next day with subs. Making me do things I’ve never done before – ya! Oppa, what are you doing to me?
About CM, I really enjoyed it, even without subs. Maybe because this is my kind of show (yes, though I’m a sucker for romance, I enjoy these too) and I’ve never watched the original before, so it’s a brand new show to me and I was able to fully immerse myself without comparing it. @zi4r is simply awesome with her very thorough analysis. And as usual, JG is captivating and extremely charismatic. His Smirk is
. But I would love it more if he had more screen time - maybe it’s just me and I know it’s not realistic, but hey, I’m a fan of JG and I would watch it even if it’s just him doing mundane stuff for the entire show. Is this even normal?

And when I couldn't get to Seoul because of work obligation, I sent my little cousin there so that the ticket wouldn't have to be returned.
- Those polls that you so love to talk about? Both JG one & MLSHR one on ilovekstars? My foster kid & I combined give each of them 300-500 votes a day. That's our daily bonding activity.
- I even set aside a lot of time to give hearts on something really pointless like KWave-U so that people won't say he doesn't have enough fans.
- I have a script running on JG IG to monitor & combat troll accounts for 2 months now.
- I buy his merchandise and ship the stuff all over to freaking Bermuda, even though I know I'd be paying exorbitant 35% tax on it.
I live & breathe the life of a JG Angel. I can't do that all the time, but I try my best to do more so these days, because of the turmoil in his career & personal life. Because I feel that he needs love & support. Even though my effort is a tiny drop in the ocean of support that he needs, I do all that.
So, you wanna call me a bad fan? You'd better be a damn better fan then.... You must be doing a lot of good for him.... somehow. I sure hope so. Because if that's really true, then it's good for JG, having such a marvelous fan like you. And if that's true, I guess I'll just have to take your insults & bear it.
Because they are insults. Just because we choose different paths to support a star, it doesn't give you the right to criticize my way of supporting. And if you do want to badmouth me, tag me; quote my posts; don't misrepresent what I said. That's the least you can do to show some respect... even though it's obvious from your posts that you don't feel I deserve any.
Now, about CM.
You might choose to elevate his career by bashing every actor around him. I choose to elevate it by trying my best to elevate his whole project.
He has already decided to star in CM. I'm not going to judge whether it's a good choice or not. It's HIS choice, and I'm going to support every decision he makes to the very end, both in his career & personal life. CM's success is correlated to his success. No matter how good JG is, if his co-stars were crap, it would be a failed project especially in a project like CM that has an ensemble cast. So I choose to praise all three: SHJ, LJG & MCW.
For everyone in the forum, this is what I said about acting. For all three actors/actresses. Highlighted part is JG part.
So. I like SHJ's acting in CM. I feel he deserves praise. If you don't like it, then it's your choice! Just because I like one actor, that doesn't mean I'm not a good fan of another. If you feel SHJ has "stone-faced one-dimensional acting", it's your opinion. I'm not asking you to be his fan. (And I'm not his fan either. I just like him in CM. So?)
I'd love to say similar things about JG's performance. But I can't. Because he hasn't been given a chance yet! It's been only 2 episodes! He got to cry once in the opening scene. Even during the "sister" rescue, the editing chopped out his emotional part. The black&white shot in "JG trailer" was more heart-rending... but in actual drama, most of the shot was taken from the back, showing the girl's face. I'm a blogger with integrity. I don't make stuff up when stuff doesn't exist. When JG kick a**, I'll wax poetic about it.
I feel every actor has room to grow. Some has more time to grow than others. The good thing about JG is that even at a young age, he has gone through phenomenal growth. And I'm proud of him for that.
- I feel SHJ has a quiet aura to him that I like, but I do believe he has issues with versatility. And given his age, I am not sure how much more he can grow.

I do feel JG tended to over-act in his younger days. Not in TBDAW (That's the reason why it's my fave role other than Wang So). And no, not in his comical scenes either. It's when he's in pain/grief/panic. Iljimae injury scenes, Two Weeks scenes when he's being panicky (especially the scene with the pregnant woman in the rain), a few scenes in Scholars (most notably EP01 at the site where he saw his father's head on stake).
That's normal in every visceral actor... Actors that feel through their roles and act through instinct. They're naturally talented, but they need time & criticism to realize how to fine-tune that talent. (As opposed to cerebral actors that learn acting and think through their acting. They tend to come across as stiff or unnatural in their early careers.)
JG's acting in Two Weeks -> Joseon Gunman -> MLSHR .... the progress and growth is astounding. Especially his role as Wang So was almost flawless. Which is the level (or higher) that he's bringing to CM.
You might feel that only perfection is to be adored. I feel that there is no such thing as perfection & every progress is to be celebrated. The fact of the matter is..... JG has improved a lot. And he is a person that always strives to better himself. He's the most hardworking actor in the industry. And I love all that about him.
And this is TOTALLY out of topic (worse than the stuff above) so I'm putting in spoiler... about Gideon & Hotch:

Just because we have a different take on characters doesn't make you more of an expert.So I've attempted to explain myself. Even though I don't have to. I don't owe it to you. And you have NO right to judge me or judge my love for this actor.
Now. Let me talk about "JG fans" you mentioned. Which JG fans? You were obviously targeting me but who else? There must be many, right? Since you can make generalizations about "JG fans", you must know tens of thousands of them and all their likes & dislikes. I'm so curious. Tell me.
I mean... Let's just assume I don't believe in JG's acting (which is not true but if you believe so, let's just assume that). Why does that have to be about "JG fans" not liking his acting? How many JG fans do you know? And how many of them feel that way? Do you have a poll on that? Some research?
That generalization is not an insult to me! That's an insult to the fandom. And to HIM. He is a great actor. Tons of people believe that. Just because you are pissed at me, one person, doesn't mean you go around saying JG doesn't win polls because he isn't good at acting. Or because his fans don't believe he's good at acting. Soooo many fans around the world did soooooo much good for him this year. They spend time trying to support him in many many ways.
More importantly, some fans love him with all their hearts.... but don't have time and energy and money and luxury to sit around and click on that effing website! People have jobs & obligations! I know that all that I do for JG, I can do so because I'm so privileged. Just because I vote more or donate more or send more support, that doesn't make me a better fan. It just makes me a luckier one. So please stop insulting the fandom for something as nonsensical as not winning a poll.
I should stop now. But just one more thing. Your logic makes no sense.
- JG doesn't win any acting awards. He only wins popularity awards. Because his fans don't believe in his acting. (You do know that acting awards are usually given out through judging, right? Not by fans?)
- JG is not winning any polls. (You do know that polling is a way to decide on popularity awards, right?)
Maybe you should provide me with a map on what you really believe JG or his fans are lacking...... because I'm getting lost in your maze of illogical posts.
All in all, stop beating around the bush. You dislike some of my posts in CM. (By the way, have you read them all? I don't really see you around much until recently, but you seem to talk about my posts as if you know them all. Or is it just like "JG fans" again? A generalization?) Well, I won't stop posting them. About my writings on CM thread, @LyraYoo & @pixelsticks summarized our intentions better than my own verbal diarrhea can. So I shall quote:
On drama threads, I try to keep my analysis as balanced as possible. I try not to allow my JG-bias to interfere with my writing. That is because I want everyone (JG fan and non-fan viewers alike) to read my posts, and appreciate them as matter-of-fact & not fangirling. I want to be heard; and I can only do so by trying to keep my blogger integrity when it comes to comments/praises/criticisms.
And people do read our posts. Even non-soompians. And they screenshot & share the stuff on other platforms. And that allows us to influence the messaging, even if in a tiny tiny way. If my posts always sound like "JG is good" "Drama is good" "Nothing is bad" "Critics are stupid" "Haters, go away", I know that non-fans & average/un-biased viewers won't feel the need to read them. Only if I can bring myself across as able to criticize when necessary, then my praises hold more weight, and my posts praising the drama will be more effective. (I'm not sure whether I'm explaining myself well.)
Some of you know that I work in publicity. My inner compass always tells me (rightly or wrongly) what each episode or each scene is trying to sell to the viewers. And I always try & help sell that particular thing with my posts as well. Because if publicity doesn't work in-sync with the creator's intent, it would never work!
So when I talk about EP02 in CM, I know what the drama is selling. Profiling. Team Leader KKH.
Why sell that? Well, because the show is Criminal Minds! And EP01 already gets criticism that there's not enough profiling. EP02 tries to compensate for it by selling SHJ's performance as KKH.
The interview scenes were the focus of the episode. If I want to say that the episode is great (which I do because I think it is!), then I have to sell those scenes. Thus, my writing about the interview scene.
But it doesn't mean that I ignore other scenes. I do talk about the building of trust between Hyunjun & Sunwoo. And if you feel that I'm ignoring some of JG scenes, I'll let you in on a secret:
I am still JG-biased anyway. ALWAYS. It's not something I can surgically remove outta my psyche. So what happens is...... If I see flaws (editing/directing/acting) in a scene that is JG-centric, I usually just skip past them. I don't write about them. That's my personal choice... My way of keeping my blogger integrity, while soothing my biased heart.
You might not agree with what I write. But questioning my loyalty was hurtful.
And I over-reacted. As usual.
So...... I hope this settles it. I want the thread to go back to being happy.

As you might know i always read and fully apreciate your posts in CM thread. I wish i could express myself like you do or have your power to analize the drama. i fully respect the way your comments are always oriented to the drama and not only JG. I can´t do it, i always try, very hard, but all my post tend to focus on LJG. But i restrained myself a lot, i swear. even if it doesn´t show. Anyway just have to say i find LJG acting in CM awesome, to me he is the best of the drama, even if he doesn´t have enough screentime (i hope it gets better, remember MLSHR first episodes?) Anyway i watched almost all JG dramas and movies (few old stuff left to watch) and i can say his acting was always really good (i see no overacting, but that´s my opinion) but i must agree he is not perfect (and i love him more for his imperfections) and i recognize he improved a lot. he went from good to awesome. and to me he is at his best as Wang So. I think his HJ have the potential to be as great. I´m sure JG will find the way to outshine all, even with less screen time. he always do.

Scholar may look like a chaotic drama but give it a chance. As an ex-vampire lover (not the Twilight thing!) I had to watch it (not to mention LJG gave extra points to awesomeness of the drama). There are many really sexy scenes (I don't know if LJG kissed his lady lead so often before!), THE bath scene and there are interesting things about vampire world I enjoyed (like clothes that protect from the sun and hawthorn tree that makes them weaker also thing about vampire offspring being resistant to some vamppire powers (which may be also a curse)...
Aaaaand one of the most beautiful hanboks LJG ever had to wear.

@summer2017 if you think episode 1 was gore then wait for episode 2. it has some hard to see scenes. i don like gore, but so far i think CM is doing it well. at least i can see

You must have missed my posts in CM thread, also many post from others. SHJ did a good job specially in episode 2, the unsub was good too. no need to deny it. that said LJG was great (and in my humble opinion he is the better of CM) his character is awesome and many are saying how likable he is and how good is JG in his performance (soompiers, bloggers, korean media)... of course as CM thread is about the drama and not only for JG there are people praising other stuff. I don't think JG must work harder because he's already doing a perfect job... he's working the best way he can as always and the result is awesome as always

Joon Gi's acting... Just I want to say I was not happy when he signed in CM and more, when CM was announsed as tvN drama. I don't like cable TV shows. But... When someone has real actung talent, cable TV or National TV doesn't matter. How is possible someone to be so good? This video show JG expression face that I like so much.
This is what I am searching for in actors. Expressions. That's why he is my #1 actor.
JG excels in his expressions, specially his eyes. you don't need him to talk or understand korean to know what he's feeling. that's how great he is

Well what can I say? I love it. I have watched Signal which I also love dearly but I must say I love CM even better. I watched the US CM but I like the Korean better and I am not going to compare any further as after the 1st episode, I am watching the drama as if it's an original work. The approach and the way it is made is different which I like. I love it and I so love JG in modern world. Well he is not JG, he is not Tae-san, not Wang-so, not Soo-hyun or Kay but he is Kim Hyun Jun.

Any way I have to say that every time I post there I have to restraint myself and not over fangirl about our man, because he's gorgeous, he's awesome, he's killing with his performance, as @cedarwood said he is Hyun Joon, and as much as I love the drama the best of the drama for me is HJ. So all I want to do right now is to sing LJG/JH praises
That said I have to add that the drama is so good! I love love love it. You all must Watch!!!

Hae Soo - In the Goryeo era she was a 16 year old young girl from a noble family, the Hae family. Her life took a turn when Go Ha Jin, a 25 year old woman from the 21st century woke up in her body after an accident. Hae Soo (or Go Ha Jin) uses a 21st century mindset to analyse issues in Goryeo hence to her some things do not make much sense, eg. unequal treatment of people due to their noble status. This led her often to be fearless and upright in her dealings with the Goryeo princes such as fighting with the 10th prince Wang Eun when he peeped at a maid changing clothes and expecting an apology from 4th prince Wang So after he stopped her from hitting Eun. She also believes in protecting what is important to her and not succumbing to fate but fight for it. This is seen when she cuts herself in order to escape from being King Taejo's bride, risking her life in the process. She was the only one able to see beyond the facial disfigurement of Wang So, treating him the same, not fearing him like the other people. This earned her Wang So’s trust, love and devotion. She did not accept that Wang So is to live in torment because of his scar, so she stepped in to help him cover his scar and in the process, unwittingly altered his fate. There are 4 men in her life who profess love to her - Wang Eun, Wang Wook, Wang So and Wang Jung. Each man played an important role in different stages of her life as she grows and gets herself used to the way things are in Goryeo.
Wang Eun - A carefree, easygoing character, he never desires the throne nor has any ambitions to be King. All he wanted was to lead a happy life. Ironically he was embroiled in the throne seizing process and met a tragic end. He is Hae Soo's first friend and Hae Soo was her happiest carefree self with him even though she never had any romantic interest for him. Hae Soo cherished their friendship deeply even until the moment he died.
Wang Wook - He was a man burdened with family commitments since young. A calm, quiet yet calculative person, the burden of protecting his mother and sister which lay strongly on his shoulders chained him for life. He was Hae Soo's first love, but his inability to fulfil his promises to Hae Soo slowly destroyed their love as they grew apart. He was a man full of promises to Hae Soo, but eventually none was ever kept due to stronger commitment to his family. He repeatedly disappointed her on which he blamed his powerless status as he was not the king. He claimed his desire to be the king was in order to be able to protect Hae Soo but it was never really clear what his real intention was.
Wang So - He was born with the star of a king but never desired to be king until one day he was forced by the reigning king to do something unthinkable which broke his heart but awakened a raging desire to become the king. It was a life changing moment for him as he realized he could only change the world by being on the throne. Although he was Hae Soo's second love, he became her everlasting love. He had a rough and traumatic childhood, getting scarred, despised and abandoned by his own mother Queen Yoo at a tender age. He was sent to Shinju and left to fend for himself. As compared to Wook, Wang So was fearless in his love for Hae Soo. He was a man of few words who did not make promises to Hae Soo, yet he stepped in numerous times to protect her, even to the extent of risking his life because he had decided that she was the love of his life. He tried his very best to stop her marriage to King Taejo, ingested poison served by Hae Soo to the Crown Prince which was meant to frame her, fought the guards to save her from the gallows, stood over her in the rain when she was begging the King’s to change a decision, insisted he would marry her even though she had been downgraded to a palace maid, saved her from the arrow and also insisted on taking her as queen even though she was scarred. He was a cautious man and never trusted anyone easily except Hae Soo who broke that barrier by hiding his scar through the use of cosmetics. However towards the end, it was also because of this distrust and inferiority complex that drew a rift between Hae Soo and himself.
Wang Jung - As the youngest of the princes, he is everyone's favourite and the apple of his mother's eye. He grew up in a protected environment, and never experienced hardships or heartaches. Since young, he has been secretly in love with Hae Soo and silently stayed by her side to listen to her and be her soulmate. He was selfless in his love for her, giving her more love than he received, was a pillar of support for her, bringing her comfort in her life. He never asked anything from Hae Soo, was never possessive and only wanted her to be happy. This is in stark contrast to Eun, Wook and So's love to Hae Soo where all wanted her by their side and to have a part of her belonging to them. His love for Hae Soo was simple and steadfast, never demanding towards her but always offering her his love and care. He made himself available for her until the very end, even though he knew clearly he would never have her heart as it had been given to her only love.
Plot summary:
Go Ha Jin a 25 year old woman from the 21st century travels through time during a solar eclipse and finds herself in the body of Hae Soo, a young girl from the Goryeo dynasty nearly 1000 years ago.
Hae Soo is the cousin of Lady Hae, 8th prince Wang Wook's wife. By living in Wook's residence, Hae Soo encounters the other princes one by one, the crafty 3rd prince Wang Yo, enigmatic 4th prince Wang So, gentlemanly 8th prince Wang Wook, kind and cheerful 10th prince Wang Eun, loyal 13th prince Baek Ah, brave and chivalrous 14th prince Wang Jung.
Through her interactions with the princes, Go Ha Jin learns to live her life in the Goryeo dynasty as Hae Soo. As Soo journeys through life in the Goryeo, she experiences both pleasant and painful events. She falls into despair, finds an everlasting love and fights for what she treasures. With her limited knowledge of history, she tries very hard to prevent horrifying events from happening but is helpless as she watches history unravels before her. She slowly understands what is most important to her and what she needs to protect most. The sentence in blue i because i can´t fully agree, I don´t think he loved HS more, i just think HS loved him in a different way than he did. BTW i must admit i never liked Jung (in fact i hated him until the very end, though i love Ji Soo, so no offense to the actor intended) so i found his character description very flattery. to me he was inmature, selfish, and his hate and actions toward So unfair. Sorry i can´t like him!!!
About the plot summary i find it very Hae Soo oriented. How many times we commented and discussed here that this drama is not a love story but a game of thrones?. And as much as i despise Won i think he must be included, because you named every other prince. Oh and i forgot!!! you must mention Crown Prince Moo. He has a kind relationship with Soo
