Really the more I think about and the more I rewatch all those moments Kyung treats Dan Oh like trash the angrier I get at him. I just don't think it would be okay to excuse his actions just because the writer has written him that way. Yes, maybe he is struggling inside - hating how he can't say otherwise - but when the stage was over and the rain started he was still mean to her. So no way I can root for Kyung. Like I want his background story and I want him to become aware, so Dan Oh can finally tell him the face that it was not okay how he treated how - no matter what.

Like Kyung deserved that punch and more.

I'm with you, there's just no way I can like him much less ship him and DO together. I don't really get how one can justify the fact that he left her alone in the forest at night when she was almost ready to collapse from her heart problem. He knows that she collapses easily. What if she lost consciousness and had gotten hypothermia which in itself is dangerous but combined what a weak heart would be twice as dangerous. Sigh... every time he's treating her like trash I just feel so exasperated with his character.  The manhwa writer made him not only a jerk but also such an exhausting character. I would not be surprised if he became self aware next. But then again there is no guarantee that everyone that becomes self aware will be different from their written persona. Maybe JD and NJ aren't becoming self aware because their 'real' personalities are somewhat similar so they don't feel the dissonance like DO and DH did.

BTW, the more I rewatch the episodes the more I believe that DO and HR were leads in another historical manhwa before meeting in this one. Based on how long he's been drawing her, he noticed her way before she even got a proper look at him. And the way her heart beats faster every time he's near is really strange. It's like her heart recognizes him way before her brain does. I also wonder how did HR find that hidden beautiful place in the woods? It was the first time he was there much like everyone else. Plus that traditional building where he and DO spent time together. It's like he knew those places. HR also was the one who found that old treasure box. Then there's his strange expression when DO joked about being a princes in her previous life... Maybe that was the plot of their previous manhwa? But then again I haven't read the original webtoon so these are all just my speculations. The only chapter that I look at was the last one currently translated and in it

    Spoiler

Jinmichae tells DO that he was a swordsman in a historical manhwa and the writer 'forced' him to kill many people, including the woman he fell in love with, even though he didn't want to do any of it. I wonder how he knows HR? BTW, HR's wound on his palm looks like the one you'd get from trying to grab a knife... or a sword. Weird coincidence if you ask me.

    5. I think Ha Ru lives in the library or school overall. But then... what about all the other extras? They go somewhere. But he is a exceptions for anything at the moment, soooo....

If Haru and Jinmichae are from a different manhwa then they don't really have a place in this world. They technically don't belong here so maybe that's why one stays in the kitchen while the other in the library. The way Jinmichae continues to say that it's impossible to change what the writer has in mind makes me think that he failed to do it, and the only way to save himself and get rid of the writer's influence was to run away through the black whole to another manhwa. Maybe Haru is like that too.

  3. Hi, everyone! Just finished watching all the episode in one go and I must say this drama is awesome. I usually don't watch dramas that feature a school setting but this one is just so good. As many of you  also wonder why the characters suddenly started to become self aware but I think that it just proves that the manhwa writer has some problems with the story and character.s

There were many dramas and mangas/manhwas where I was super frustrated with how the story goes or how ridiculous the characters are written that I often cursed the writer for that. So for know, without a better explanation, I just think that the characters here got tired of being mistreated by the writer and thus became self aware, as a protest of sorts. DO was a pitiful character already yet the writer made her like a complete jerk and suffer continuous emotional abuse from him. On top of that the writer made her a meek character that can't speak up when Kyung is being mean. I'd become self aware too if only to kick his richard simmons. As for DH, he too is a completely different person when self aware. Who wants to be a standard second lead with all the ridiculousness involved with it? Kyung is also on the path of becoming self aware. Maybe he too is getting tired of acting like such a jerk. The manhwa writer is doing him dirty without any proper reason (daddy issues don't justify his behaviour). Don't know what Squid Fairy's deal is yet but he must have a story of his own. I really want to know more about Haru and just have him on screen all the time. The dude's face is an artwork, i can't stop staring at him.

      Reveal hidden contents

To me the ending quite artistic...

Kind of sealed the deal for those tragic ill-fated brother.

The whole family surely have some mental illness run in their blood, the father psycho (?), still don't know why he need to drown his son in the well. KW antisocial. KM pure pyscho.

The problem for me is... on epilogue ... whats with that trope of BJS not dying omg... i just don't like him.

I'm not in for V4. Ah well, unless new detective is hottie  But then they might kill him too... Hmmm....

Rather a sad news. Cos hes really my fav actor after i watched FGTD. Since the investigation still on-going, and the fastest result out i think only like 1 week or more. For now maybe we can give him benefit of the doubt. Eventhough tbh, the situation doesn't look good at all.

I do wonder what will happen to his drama that's airing right now. If he's really arrested then switching the male lead will be a painful process for the cast and crew.

BTW has anyone here watched The Best Moment To Quit Your Job? I finished it earlier this year (only 8 episodes) and found oit quite enjoyable. Made me remember when I was first starting out in my career.

BTW did anyone read news abt Kang Ji Hwan?

I did , what a shocker if it's true. I didn't think he's that type of a guy but after the whole Burning Sun fiasco you really can't trust anyone in K-ent.

  8. @refuse2sink Well if you're planning to watch The Guest, the JW's sexiness won't be what scares you, that's for sure  I personally don't find K-horror dramas that scary, The Guest was more gory than scary. Some time ago I watched one Thai horror movie and now that was really scary. I'm not scared easily so that's saying something. I find Thai horror movies good.

  9. @triplem There were many good shots of him in Naked Fireman :yum:

BTW, I just found out that Jeon Mi Sun committed suicide. That was pretty shocking, I've seen her in so many dramas. She was a really good actress. Depression is really scary. RIP :grimace:

Are you you saying we boring :joy:

I really like SHS, so I really tried , diligently, to get into the drama but I failed miserably :joy: don't kill me  After watching only horror movies and thrillers I need to slooowly ease into watching romance again.  OMG, what if I became an adrenaline junkie now :scream:

@triplem Yea, when I was in SK fruits, veggies let alone berries all felt like luxury items there.  But I found eating out to be quite ok in terms of prices. Besides I was so shocked that they serve literally huge portions. Those were the biggest portions of food I've ever eaten and that was for one person. Could barely eat anything after that for 2 days.

That's what I like to do.

Also if you have any plushies or even cushions, you can print some nasty person's face and put it on the plushies/cushion and just kick and slap them until you're satisfied. Always wanted to try it.

  14. I've read that the minimum wage in SK in 2018 was only ~1400 USD. Here's a quote - In 2018, the national minimum wage in South Korea remained fixed at 1,229.9 € per month. I'd say that it is really a minimum to live there. I've been to SK in May and the prices for food (especially if you want to have a healthy diet) are pretty high plus everyone is basically renting apartments, so the rent for a shabby basement apartment might be around 500 USD and if you want something better then there really is no roof when it comes to rent. 1500 USD is really low. 3000 USD was actually the average salary in 2017 according to National Tax statistics.
