@itspeanutbutterjellytime thank you for directing the thread into its rightful direction as it should be. Many friends gave great detailed answers and i completely agree with them. But for me there is ONE big thing i love above everything else: respect! HB stated his respect and admiration of her in various platforms (i.e. Vogue interview, Netflix interview, Negotiation promotions, CLOY interviews). He says:
- he gets thrilled like no other by her skills,
- he wants to act with her and learn from her (no other male actor at his calibre would say such thing),
- SYJ has so much more charm to show the audience,
- we should watch the movie and drama because SYJ is in it, instead of boosting himself
It is hard to find a man that respects your skills and admires you for it like HB does. No need to say, he is one of the best Korean actors out there and still humbly putting SYJ at the top and having great regards to her, tells me great deal of his infatuation of SYJ.
SYJ is the best of best when it comes to Korean actresses (my other favourite is Kim Hye Soo). She is so high that possible suitors might be intimidated by her status. It might one of the reasons why she could not find the right man until now. HB differentiate himself from others by getting close to her without being intimidated. One of the reasons for that SYJ has high regards for HB as well. Their understanding of each other, their mutual respect for their skills and capabilities are the foundation of their relationship.
This is why i love them, they are mature, they learnt from their past experiences and approach their relationship with that mindset. It's clearly not a fling or just some love sparks but they have a good foundation of mutual respect and admiration. Love is like a wind could pass in a blink of eye but respect is what stays forever.

Exactly! In some interviews both SYJ and HB mentioned that they thought they were in love before with their partners while dating them but after breaking up they realized it was not love.

Hyun Bin is a busy man. He is the CEO but statements and all I don't think he writes them. Denying or accepting is maybe his call but wording the statement is not his job.
Dating is healthy. Especially the way HB does because it means he is responsible and cares about his partner emotions. Who believes their oppas are all celibate, everybody dates! And given all the news about entertainment darkside, the most clean and untouchable actors that no one expects are the ones date around the most. So I urge fans to not take everything at the face value. He is a quite respectable man who puts his career as his priority and as a normal human being he dates responsibly.

Although I want people to express their opinions freely, @pnaysurfer84 I agree with you on this. Everytime we try to bring the mood up, someone comes and bring it down immediately. I started to believe people from other ships come create new accounts to discourage us here (total conspiracy but i will start believing it if this keeps happening). I have too much work to concentrate but here i am telling people to be positive
I ll focus on my work now and be back when things are cooled down.

Dear comrades, thank you for the welcoming and interactive atmosphere here. This is the most amazing forum I have ever seen. I really enjoyed every bit of my experience here. I am an avid fan of K-dramas for 10 years but never even posted anything under other drama threads. CLOY has been the far best drama of all time for me and I really enjoyed your engaging, intellectual and fun discussions here. I am happy to be a part of CLOY family here. Although I had so much work, I couldn't focus anything but CLOY while it was airing. I think its time for me to go back to my work. If I don't finish my piling papers I won't be able find a job and blame CLOY
. All I wanted to say thank you and continue with your amazing analysis which I enjoy read all the time. I will still come around and read for insightful posts but I may be less posting. Hope to meet you all in a new drama after I finished my papers-

Exactly! He looks very engaging, caring and on top of that manly when he is with SYJ. And I have to say, it is the first time I am seeing great deal of fans of a male actor shipping their actor with an actress. I have never came across anything like that. Fans like you knows him better than causal fans like me, so they can see his love and admiration of his partner very well. That must be the reason why HB fans support him the most with SYJ.

I agree, he was still dating his ex during the filming. After he broke up and started touring with SYJ for movie promotions, he came to enjoy her company. Earlier SYJ was more flirty and HB was still a bit reserved (despite being more opened up compared to his usual self), then he started to play along with SYJ's flirting and began teasing her. You can tell from the videos, he listened to her responses to questions in one of the interviews and give almost similar answers or refer to her earlier answers in the next one. He already admired her skills and capabilities even before the movie filming but I think during the promotion time he started to see her as possible romantic interest

I just wanna say that I agreed on everyone that when in doubt, remember the grocery photo. It maybe just a photo but how about the story that comes with it. Like everyone is saying hyunbin flew to the US right after moa's wrap up party that was in December. They celebrated SYJ's bday together January 10. The grocery photo was posted January 20. So that means they were together for more than 3 weeks in the U. S? and many things can happen in that span of time hahaha so let's sit, relax and enjoy this shipping ride.

HB-SH shipper thread was on the first page when they crushed with the rumours, i feel bad for them.. We don't have anything like that to crush our hopes so let's continue having fun while it lasts.

Exactly! I loved their carefree interactions during negotiation promotions.. I used to have inner conflict because I wanted their confirmation as a shipper but also I wanted them not confirm (or at least keep being friends) so that we can see them in a movie again. Because I haven't seen such a chemistry after all the years of watching K-dramas and movies, and i wanted to see them again and again if possible. Now with all the scrutiny and the success of CLOY made it impossible (even if they are not dating)
It would have been nice if they have a photoshoot after CLOY just like Vogue photoshoot after Negotiation.

As far i know HB got the script first. I always felt like HB requested SYJ to be his partner. Maybe they arranged it before it was let known to the public and maybe that was the reason why they denied their LA rumours
When he said he wanted to act with her on the same space, breathing same air; I felt like he already knew they will act together.

Of course I would be overjoyed if they end up together, if not it will not affect my love and support for them. Here in this thread, we have fun in the prospect of them being together, so we don't need negativity affecting us. Rather than over-analysing everything to confirm their relationship status, lets wait for the confirmation from them.

After reading many posts, i think we need some uplifting atmosphere here. VAST's denial is for only holding hands not for dating. And the OSEN article is just a click bait. Who knows this close friend? Plus HB might be stunned because of the stupidity of the rumour
Every journal wants a piece of our couple as they are hot issue at the moment. And everyone expects wedding bells after the drama end, rumours and rumour based article will keep popping up for a while. I am not slightly bit concerned about their relationship status, I believe they are together (or at least have mutual attraction). Sometimes we might be discouraged since they will keep denying that they are dating as much as they can (and i believe they should, no public relationship works for extremely popular couples). I was upset not because of the denial but because we caused inconvenience to our couple. Such trivial thing became a big scale issue which shouldn't have even started at all from the beginning. @avocado yum don't worry darling, this is discussion forum of course you can voice your concerns but be positive and believe in our couple, after all we have irrefutable LA pictures no one can deny
No other shippers have much hard evidences like ours so don't be discouraged. I think they are doing right by denying, they need some freedom and time away from the limelight to work on their relationship. I am happy by the netizens reactions. Given the fact that netizenbuzz translates negative comments, the majority of the comments were very supportive and understanding.
Let's wait and see how things will unfold but be positive

I have to say I was expecting some denial after the intense scrutiny our couple received especially after the release of latest couple stills. However i didn't expect the "holding hand under table" thing would make an issue so that it received a denial. I thought it was already closed case and so trivial that no worth mentioning as we already have so much more. When the pic of them allegedly holding hand circled around, I didn't believe it and I commented that why would almost 40 years old very high profile actors resort to such act. But i have to admit it was discussed to a point that i started to doubt myself and further analysed it. I feel bad now that such trivial thing made our couple uncomfortable. I know now that reporters who dig for more news regarding hot couples go beyond their measures and lurk around our thread. I'll self-reflect and won't analyse anything further.
I am already convinced that our couple have something special going between them, we don't need PDA to convince ourselves. I already mentioned many times I am happy with them being lowkey, I want them to date secretly and get to know each other better so that they can have strong foundation for a marriage later. I will follow our captain @cybertron and wait silently for our ship to sail.

I am aware of that couple but my ship was Burak and Fahriye, they had drama together and had a movie afterwards. Now they are happily married and have a baby boy

I shipped only 2-3 couples before and one of them sailed and they even have a baby boy now. The couple that sailed was Turkish and Turkish productions do not provide BTS or any promotional videos. Even without it, I could feel they are more than friends (similar to HB-SYJ, they had a movie after their drama ended). HB-SYJ give me the same vibes that i got from that ship. Moreover, we have more evidence that they could be together (e.g. LA pictures, various sightings, lovely dovely BTS and promotional videos..etc). That's why i am hopeful regarding their relationship status. Sometimes i get discouraged with the professional looking actions but in the end you comrades make me look at the bigger picture. Even if they are not together, I am happy that they accepted to be a part of CLOY and gave us an amazing on screen chemistry that i have never witnessed in my years of watching K-dramas, despite their scandal.
I am sure everybody on this thread would be happy for them and support them whether they are together or not. I am actually very happy to be in shipping this couple since all our fellow shippers are quite rational and supportive. I usually find shipping culture most of the time immature (maybe because of my age, idk) but dear fellows here are the opposite of what i have seen in other shipping circles (with all due respect to other couples ofc, i have no intention of offending them and their shippers). I am proud and happy be a part of this circle, thanks comrades

For the most recent BTS, on her very first attempt to jump onto him (when she nearly tripped) he caught her with manner hands, palms facing up. Surely not something necessary between two really close or dating couple?
Its just that the sweet moments in the last BTS lifted me so high, this one kinda paled in comparison.

But HB is definitely more comfortable in her presence, and jokes more too. Compare it with the BTS at the dinner table with the NK ahjummas and he is a little more stiff.
Plus someone mentioned SYJ doesnt do back to back dramas, but she did this time. Which I suppose could be attributed to a good script, but also I'm sure they realllllly wanted to act alongside each other.
I hope these 6 months has made them grow fonder of each other, in a romantic sense of course! After all, its not always easy to work with your other half right

Couldn't agree more! I always thought they are dating already but sometimes they confuse me in a way that I think they are not dating yet but have mutual attraction ("some" in Korean i guess) going on between them. They keep playing my fragile heart
Same here, i hope they grew fond of each other, when they are apart they will want to be together more. I hope SYJ could visit HB in his filming site so they don't become distanced.
There are so many things make me believe they are together but also some small details makes me question my self. I don't want to be heartbroken so i prefer them to stay low profile and enjoy each other company in silence. I don't expect any announcement at the moment, especially now they have all the attention. But if they keep their contact secretly this year we may hear some announcements later on.

I think they'll unlikely do that. If it was somewhere outside Korea, what you said would be done 100%. But in Korea especially for A-listers with a scandal would be called riding on the coat-tail of their scandal. I finding it absurd tbh but its how it is in Korea unfortunately.
I would have loved them in a phootshoot and/or a CF (they are endorsed by the same cosmetic company, if they had a CF together it would have been awesome)
