@lavanta I have to admit that there is a part of me that also isn’t sure if he actually remembers her from their brief encounter in Switzerland since he hasn’t mentioned it to her even after they played that piano piece together. The one thing that makes me think he remembered her was the scene where he took the camera out of the closet since there was no reason for him to take it out other than he remembers her and for the drama to also show that specific scene. The piano scene by the lake and the scene of them watching paragliders would’ve been enough to give us that sort of background (of them having been at the same place at the same time at one pivotal point in their lives) so the bridge scene wasn’t necessary. I think the bridge scene was inserted to make us realize that he remembers her. That would also explain why he seemed to care for her safety right from the beginning.

You may be right, it really makes sense! But i am still 50-50 on that, idk. I thought that bridge scene was for the purpose of showing how JH saved Seri's life even back then. The camera scene before the coffee making was an excuse to give us that particular flashback, i didn't take it as JH remembered that time by looking at the camera. That scene was needed because it gives the message more strongly than the piano by the lake scene in my opinion. Piano by the lake scene not only emphasise how it contributed to Seri's life choices but also it is something JH holds dear to his heart and it is important in his story line too so this scene has a different purpose than the bridge scene in my opinion. And paragliding scene was for to emphasise how fate will bring them together with paragliding in the future, like everything started with paragliding back then and now.  So there are three things connect them together: paragliding, JH's song for his brother and Switzerland. I could be wrong though :D This drama takes many unexpected turns unlike many other K-dramas, so we'll see how it goes ;)

  2. I didn't see any awkwardness in the kiss too but i think it didn't meet our expectations as it was supposed to be their last kiss before the separation and it ought to be a passionate one as the atmosphere requires it, however it wasn't that passionate as it is supposed to be. I think everybody expected a kiss like "Late Autumn" (i totally want a similar one in the upcoming episodes:wub:). So people might have think that it was awkward. Even the BTS was cut short so we cannot claim it was awkward in my opinion and as @marshemell0ws stated, they might be in the mood of scene so it is also possible. But i think SYJ was a bit shy in that particular scene or maybe just in sad mood i don't know but i felt like she was holding back a bit. I also noticed that despite SYJ has a leading type of personality (it can be seen in variety shows and other drama/movie BTS) like HB, she lets HB to take the lead in many cases. It kinda proves that she is romantically involved (or at least fancy) with HB in my opinion.

P.S. I rarely ship anyone in real life as i don't normally care about celebrities' private lives but this couple is slowly making me a hardcore shipper and i don't want to be disappointed at the end

@mouse007 i did not even think that JH remembered Seri when he first saw her on the tree. I thought he smiled because of the way she spoke to employee without knowing that he was there. That made him trust her. The epilogue on that episode showed that he trusted her with that smile in my opinion. But your idea and many other comrades idea about remembering her at that time also seems reasonable. And agree with the rest as you said i don't think they interacted at all in the past or s/he remembers anything from past encounters. And i don't think she had amnesia at all because they mocked that K-drama cliche already so they wouldn't resort to it in my opinion. I think their story is like "they affected each others lives unknowingly but when the right time came, fate brought them together". I hope they won't change that direction to first love cliche because in my opinion it would be a bit far fetched in this storyline.

I loved the OST "Picture of my Heart" by Song Ga in. I already loved it when i first heard it but know that i understand the lyrics, it literally made me sob :tears: It beautifully represents the longing of JH, especially at the part "Like that small picture of yours that can not be erased, [you are] in my heart forever". I loved the reference to passport picture of Seri that JH kept as a memory. It is so sorrowful that made me think this drama could have been a great melo drama too with a ending like Werewolf Boy (starring Song Joong Ki, one of my favourites of all time). Like that movie, JH and Seri love and wait for each other till the end of their life. I know it is so sad but that song made me imagine that scenario too and it would have been heart wrenching but beautiful story. However though, i do want (and expect) happy ending (if possible in North Korea because i love how Seri could be herself without the cold facade she is hiding behind in order to protect herself from getting hurt. She doesn't have a loving family let alone any friend at all in South but she has many friends like ajummas and F4 as well as future family in JH and his supportive family in North. Plus i love JH being with his company, if he becomes a pianist again we won't see them together again and it breaks my heart).

  4. Thanks for all the videos and GIFs comrades, i appreicate:heart: I think they took more than one shot for the kiss, since Seri's hands were down in the beginning but later on her hands were on JH's shoulders. Why did they need to cut the BTS scene, I wonder?? Could it be that pd-nim wants to keep the intimacy down for some reason :phew: I'd love to see full take of that scene. The sound of smacking lips is  and how shy SYJ is also so cute

As jamy47 pointed out, the conservatives in SK are protesting against this drama due to their fear that South Koreans would have a romanticized view of NK. It is a fair argument. However, I would argue that this presumption is a disservice to the intelligence of its South Korean audience. These SK conservatives are essentially sending the message that they need to protect their citizens from a FICTITIOUS world because they are too naive and gullible to not be able to discern between fiction and reality.

Anyways, I am not worried about this. This is not the first time a tVN drama has had to deal with such a complaint. Plus, I am pretty sure that the production team had the foresight to prepare for this knowing that they would be tackling a politically sensitive matter. If this actually leads to arbitration, tVN could easily win this by arguing that they have a disclaimer in the beginning of every episodes that what they are about to see are FICTITIOUS. I am just irked when people politicize art. I watch dramas as an escape from my already politicized reality, I do not need it injected into my dramas.

Very well said, thanks!! Like @jamy47 I also would like Seri and JeongHyeok to stay in North Korea but as she stated it is purely because of drama, it would be stupid to consider it in real life. I believe people are clever enough to distinguish difference between real and fiction. However there is one thing that is presented in the drama that might validate the Christian party's claim (not that i agree with their accusation). Besides the upright and moral Captain RJH and his family, normal civilians are presented as warm people and contrast with south koreans in the drama is striking. However the north koreans are mere civilians compared to South koreans in the drama (we only saw Seri's family as South Koreans) so if we compare them there is a clear difference. South Koreans seem more materialistic while North koreans seem more sentimental and moral. Since we don't have equal settings, comparisons between two sample is not right. therefore I believe the Christian party never watched the drama but only gathered their accusations based on the drama reviews like mine where i want North Korean happy ending.

The drama is only emphasising normality of those people and moreover the sameness with North and South Koreans based on how they daily lives and customs are. But National Security Law is challenging these type of movements and attempts to normalize North Koreans. It strictly prohibits any pro-North Korean sympathy. However Drama production already put the disclaimer in each and every episode i agree with you that it won't be any problem that involves prosecution.

There are interesting papers that discuss the reunification and reaction of both South and North Koreans to it, if you like to check (i don't know if i am allowed to share it here, sorry if i am not):

In my understanding, they submitted their accusations(? i don't if its the right word) to police only. Police is review the case so there is nothing official going in the court yet. I believe nothing will come out of this accusation though

    They're dating.

    I just know it.

    Call it a woman's intuition.

    :D

I do believe they are dating too but even if they are not, there is an undeniable mutual attraction between them. It is so obvious that they like each other, so if they are not dating yet, that would be because they are good friends and do not want to be the one confess first. However i do think that Hyun Bin is an assertive person so if he is not friend zoned (god forbid :vicx:), he has already confessed to SYJ.

I do understand SYJ of not announcing the relationship because women often labelled as somebody's girlfriend and the label is always attach to them even if they break up. SYJ always put her career in front of everything so she wouldn't want such labels if the relationship is not on marriage level. As an Aquarius woman myself, I find similarities with SYJ. Aquarius women are free spirits but like most of the women, they want to settle down with the person they love. However it takes a long time for them to decide whether their partner is the one for a permanent change in their life. We tend to observe the partner for a long time, test him to see if he can accommodate you or make some changes in his life for you. This is mostly because building trust takes so much time for us and for marriage or serious relationship we have to have the utmost trust in our partner. Many guys either don't have patience or simple could not take much of these so they leave. I hope HB does not leave and have patience for such challenges because it will be the most rewarding experience since when the Aquarius woman decides that he is the one, they become the most loyal and devoted girlfriend ever. It is only a bit challenging to get there but it will be great at the end.

I have to add Aquarius (SYJ) and Libra (HB) is the most compatible signs for each other. Both are very social, curious, career oriented, like travelling... they have many common grounds. Their relationship is very fun and exciting. I am not very knowledgeable about Libra but as I read, Libra men are very gentle and romantic but indecisive regarding marriage. I trust HB will make the right choice and marry SYJ bcoz they are perfect for each other

  8. Hi dongmudeul, I don’t know if the news regarding Christian Party’s taking legal action against our drama discussed here ( most likely done already), I wanted to give my two cents about that :)

Reunification of Korean Peninsula is a very sensitive subject as we all admit. It needs utmost care. In my opinion reunification is needed for South Korea in order to overturn ever declining fertility and sustainable development in the future. Despite the reunification will cause a shock effect in economy, maybe decline in growth and/or employment crises for the Southerns, in the long run many academics believe it will be beneficial (i.e. growing potential of new job markets, access to natural resources and land (price per sq.m is too high in South so it will lower the housing prices as well), increasing human capital and decrease the military expenditure… and so on. However, it is not very easy. Not only the involvement of other countries (China-US especially is crucial as they benefit very much from the status quo) but also and the most importantly the sentiment of one Korea and unification is becoming less and less apparent by the new generations. It is a big setback for unification plans as people are not so enthusiastic about it like they were in 1980s.

Therefore, the key element here is to spark such sentiments again among the younger generations which could be done most effectively through media. As result government does push certain movies and dramas like Ashfall, Confidential assignment, Crash Landing on You as a means of defining national identity as well emphasising similarities and being Korean by blood. In this way, younger generation would see their Northern relatives not a bunch of delusional communists but human like themselves. This is a good method I have to say because unification takes time and people has to be ready for it. (Not to be too political here, I omit my personal opinion how to unite most effectively). So, going back to the drama, it serves the purpose of government propaganda. Therefore, I don’t think the latest accusations against the drama will not work in contrast it will create more buzz and thus more viewership in my opinion. Plus, accusations are beyond absurd. I am sure the Christian Party has never even watched an episode, because if they did, they would have seen the contradictions (e.g. the Slogans like “run away and die, let’s build a healthy country” or how people actually suffer from poverty and lack of resources). If anything was glorifying it would be Ri JeongHyuk as a dashing North Korean soldier. He is sexy as hell, kind and charming…. And the list goes on. Hyun Bin does all the PR that Dem. Rep. Of Korea needs by himself. The country should give him a medal or something for that  Both in Confidential Assignment and Crash Landing on You, his portrayal of North Korean soldier has been phenomenal. I find North Korean accent so sexy just because of him

For me it is if you gonna give us a kiss scene give a proper one or don't go for it at all. I know some may argue it's because of the character setup which I thought was justified with the hospital kiss but here when JH crossed the line for the woman he loves knowing that he will most probably never see her again the scene called for passion which I believe HB and SYJ have successfully delivered through their acting but by toning down the kiss scene by using those shabby camera angles somehow lightened the intensity of that scene. That kiss was supposed to be their one last time kiss which called for lot of intensity which I couldn't feel because of all those close ups. I think director wasted HB-SYJ's potential here. I hope this is the last time it happens because you have two great actors with a chemistry that can set screens on fire but somehow because of the camera angles you lose out on some great scenes I think it's pitiful at the same time annoying when the scene could have turned out to be much better.:sweatingbullets: Again I am not asking for clothes ripping make out scenes but the ones the script demands to be decently edited and given without wasting the actors chemistry.

The last kiss was normally passionate as Hyun Bin pulled Seri by the head and kissed her intensely while running his fingers in her hair. And Son Yejin respond equally by hugging him tight (put her hands on his neck to draw him closer) and kissing him passionately. There literally no gap between them. However.. a big however here.. we only deduct this all scene bit by bit unfortunately. We didn't get to see it properly due to silly camera angles. I hope they include that kiss scene in the behind scenes so that we can enjoy it properly

This could be a great idea for second season in case the couple doesn't meet at the end and live happily every after :D That would literally be "crash landing on you", you know what i mean:naughty:

Regarding the sexual tension, lets not forget the cultural aspect. Especially in NK, there isnt pda. He's also still engaged to SD. While he definitely kissed SR, he knows theres no future  for them and she needs to go home and move on. SR knows this too which is why I think the amount of skinship never goes too far and they wont reveal too much of their feelings.

I think their love for each other is more than physical. They bring strength and happiness to each other and thats what attracts them to each other.

Totally agree with you! I do think their love is beyond physical. As Samsuk dongmu stated to North Korean Ajummas that their love is engraved in their hearts. However though, i do think their kissing scenes could have been edited better. There was too much zoom out and all. In behind scenes we see great kisses much better than any drama that has been currently airing. If they already shot these scenes why not edit them properly. I don't thinks writers or directors teasing but editors (or director's) inability to edit. I wouldn't mind hotter scenes but if not i believe their level of skinship is enough to convince us their attraction to each other.

This also relates to why he was able to escape to SK even though NK and SK have the tightest boarder control in the world. It is once again because these high ranking officials also involved in CCK's illegal operations DO NOT want CCK to expose them as well, so it would make sense for them to help him escape to the one place NK cannot find him.

Now, it is pretty obvious that CCK wants revenge against the people that "brought him down", which is JH but also in a way SR. Because it was his obsession with catching SR and proving that she is a SK spy that led to his down fall. I also think that it is quite possible that these high ranking officials, possibly even Dan's uncle, wanted CCK to bait JH into coming to SK because if CCK killed JH in SK, it would solve all their problems. Left alone, JH would continue digging into CCK's disappearance, and who knows what he might discover. And the problem is that JH is not easy to get rid of because of who his father is. So had JH stayed in NK, he would have caused these people big trouble.  But if CCK kills JH in SK, then the case is closed and problem is solved, since there can be no further investigation on this matter.

Now coming to JH's entry into SK. He is the Captain of Battalion that is in charge of boarder security, so it is quite easy for him to sneak into SK. However, I do think he may have gotten "unofficial" permission for his father to go to SK and capture CCK, after all, CCK is JH's brother's killer as well, so I'm sure JH's father would want justice for his first son. Or else how would be assemble the back-up team so quickly? I;m sure that JH must have told his father that he is going to SK. Also, my interpretation of "bring JH back" is more along the lines of making sure that he doesn't stay there. JH's father knows his feelings for SR, and he also knows who SR is, it is not hard to assume that JH would go after SR. I think JH's father is worried that JH might be tempted to defect because of SR and also, he wants his son to have some back-up when dealing with CCK.

@Ss79 pointed out good spots that are not revealed yet. I agree that CCK's trial done that way in order to protect the higher ups involved. I also mentioned it in my previous comment but you state these much nicer thanks <3 However I do believe that higher ups (maybe Seo Dan's uncle) do not this subject to drag further in case JH learns the full truth. I think they much prefer to eliminate CCK and keep JH in check so everything settles down quietly. I think higher ups wanted to kill CCK for a clean end but he managed to seek out with the help of another comrade (most probably a higher up) from the accident as well as the country border. I thought he never went to South and it was just a trap to lure JH to South so that CCK's claim about JH's involvement with a South Korean woman would be revealed. However i was wrong CCK did actually go to SK but it still could be a trap for JH. He may want to not kill Seri but collect evidence of JH being in South with a woman. I still think, despite getting help from someone, this plan was made and orchestrated solely by CCK out of spite.

I think JH informed his father of his move to South Korea as you said it is very easy to cross border for him as he is currently in duty in DMZ. Although he informed his father, i think he didn't listen to his father at all. It was just informing him at thats all. That's why his father wants to handle this issue quietly and delicately with trusted people. I don't think his father thinks he might defect to South for good because he know how responsible and dutiful his son is but he thinks it might create a scandal which would not only threaten his son life, his position in the GP but also escalate to cross national problems. This is the tricky part, we know Seri is quiet well-known by paparazzi but she hugged him in the middle of the street without hiding. It will be a great challenge to keep him away from media. If he was seen in media, it will definitely cause negative consequences in the north for himself and his family. How are they gonna do manage it?

There are so many great things about this drama but one thing bothers me and most of the comrades is the editing of kiss scenes :( They are mostly zoomed out :tears:Behind scenes are even better than the actual ones. One of the comrades in this thread mentioned (sorry forgot the name) that HB and SYJ doesn't leave a gap when kissing, she is right. This makes their kissing even more realistic but we can only see them properly in the behind scenes. Please director-nim don't waste such chemistry, chaebal! I would love a great kissing scene or maybe more now that JH is gonna be 24/7 with Seri as her bodyguard :D

Really! I feel like she'll accept it. Because I felt like now that she's back and discovered that her family was trying to take advantage of her death, she'll be even more determined to get back at them.

Plus its some incentive for the second oppa to team up with CCK to get rid of SR.

I could be like you said too, i believe she will refuse because i think the shareholders meeting will be happening later like in the last or the one before last episode in my opinion.

What you said seems reasonable but I don't know, i dont think they would portray her second oppa more evil than he already is. I felt that Seri will be closer to her family at the end. CCK would act as one-man killer rather than meeting her oppa and plot something harmful against her since he is acting on impulse and rather be quick.

By the way i am beyond thrilled about the ratings! It is great news! Congratulations to staff, pd, actors but mostly writer-nim since she created such a beautiful story with extensive research about North korea and little nuances (i.e. the house in demilitarised zone and woman who was waiting for her son) that highlighted not only the love between main leads but also how real people suffers from separation of the two countries. Every little element is well thought well portrayed! I am so happy that i am watching this amazing drama!

P.S. I have to mention this, no offence to anyone but one of the best aspect of this drama is that there is no idol in it. Everyone is capable to draw emotion in us and make us relate to them.

Maybe some one can help clear this up for me since I am watching all the episodes subbed.

I was under the impression that SR's oldest sister in law said that the "game as been reset" by which she was referring to the successor of Queens Group. I know the second oppa is the CEO of Queens Group as of the last shareholder's meeting, but that decision may not be valid anymore since SR was presumed dead at that time and didn't get to vote during that meeting. That would make sense why her oppas were so nervous having her back.

Strongly feel like there will be another shareholder's meeting where SR will be announced as the new CEO and the second oppa will team up with CCK to get rid of SR.

I agree there will be a second shareholders meeting eventually but for now the Queens CEO remains to be the second oppa in my understanding. Oppas are nervous because there might be a new shareholders meeting in the future (since father can decide anytime as he is the owner and they know he will) and one of them want her good grace so that he might get some gain, and the other doesn't a repeat of shareholders meeting at all. In the next shareholders meeting Seri will be chosen as the CEO but i think she will refuse it (many of us predict it i guess).

well said, Comrade Lavanta. I assume thats why many people including me feel confused about SJ and SD characters. We were under the impression that both engagements were for other motives rather than true love (SR-SJ were for business purposes and RJH-SD still unknown?), then we were revealed that both second leads have feelings for the main leads. It will be hard for them to move on and fall in love with each other (or anyone else) if they have feelings for RJH and SR from the beginning.

If they didn't include the engagement story of Gu Seung Jun - Seri and Seo Dan's first love from high school, things would be more consistent i think, because these second leads were very realistic and relatable for me. Still relatable but to a certain degree tbh. I really like them together <3

I believe SD-RJH engagement was arranged because like in South Korea rich and high class families want to marry off their children with the same class and societal status. I think it was the purpose of RJH's family and SD's family's purpose was to gain strong political backing because if you run a business in unstable and high risk country where it is all depend on connections to higher ups, you would need strong political connections to reduce the risks involved. I think SD's mother proposed the idea to RJH's family. and she also wanted RJH not his brother because she didn't want her only daughter to be widow like herself. It's my speculation though, you never know maybe there are other motives ;)

  16. This episode was both heart wrenching and funny, i loved every second of it!

It was logical for Seri to go back to Seoul. We could see her changing demeanour when she found her own water. She came back like a queen and took everything back as if she never left, bravo Seri! However i always felt she was insecure and also kind in someways but she was hiding behind her cool persona to look powerful so that no one could exploit her. When she was in North Korea, we saw how she was kind and loving because she felt loved and secured there (ajummas, F4 and Ri JeongHyeok made her feel loved and no need to say JeongHyeok made her feel secure despite all the threats). So her real personality came out as a natural reaction to being treated this way. I loved how writer-nim portrayed the contrast to show us Seri's inner world.

As for second leads; I always like Gu Seung Jun and Seo Dan. Gu Seung Jun portrayed a con man with a good heart which is a new type of character in a k-drama. I liked him for it. He liked Seo Dan from get to go. That's why i liked their interactions because it was more than typical "plotting against the main lead out of revenge". He seemed like he was plotting with Seo Dan but eventually he chose to do what his heart told him to and help JeongHyeok and Seri. Even before that he did his own plan to keep Seri in North Korea while he could have gone along with Cheol Kangs plan which would end her life. He wanted to keep his deal with Seri's oppa but at the same time wanted her alive. This is his charming point. However there were some mishaps in the storyline as it proceeded. He was said to be only her arranged meeting not fiance because from the flashback Seri told him upfront that she saw what he is up to and she wouldn't be with him. It shouldnt have proceed to engagement after that. Seri didn't seem like agreed on marriage at all from the flashback but in today's episode they said the engagement was broken off few weeks before the marriage. Another thing is that Gu Seung Jun always showed interest in Seo Dan but in one of the previous episodes he said his heart fluttered towards Seri after she broke of the engagement. These two things didn't fit the storyline of Gu Seung jun which was portrayed from the beginning. Apart from that i am glad that he didn't drag Seri issue long and went back to his old self in the first appearance. As for Seo Dan, she never seemed interested in JeongHyeok from the beginning. I always thought she was rightfully angry about all the Seri issue because she had expectations from JeongHyeok. Not necessarily she loved him but because she was engaged to him for such a long time, she had developed expectation. In real life every girl would if they are engaged (especially for such longterm engagement). Therefore when her expectations failed, she became disappointed and her pride hurt since there was another woman involved. Her reaction is understandable in my opinion. However we now know that she fell in love with JeongHyeok at high school doesn't fit the narrative because she seemed very disinterested with him and didn't know if they could love each other. Even at some point i was convinced that she didn't want him but want to know more about love. but high school story wasn't necessary in my opinion. It just made her character a bit typical, i would have preferred the one in my understanding because i like her and her confident strong persona, there was no need for first love cliche.

By the way I like how Mr. Cheon and Gu Seung Jun relationship is. I think they will be great friends. Gu Seung Jun will stay in North Korea as a business man and Mr Cheon will be his assistant :)

It was a very emotional episode but my eyes watered the most in ajummas scene. I really love them. I wish Seri to go back and meet them again. I love how they are understanding and loving towards Seri. This is all Seri has wanted for her life but no one back in Seoul made her feel she belong there, in contrast they made feel unwanted to the point she wanted to take her own life.

I am glad that Pd-nim didn't spoil Kim SooHyun's cameo. It had the shock effect :D It was hilarious!! I am looking forward to F4 and their Seoul adventures. Also Jumok's wish to be completed :)

I think JeongHyuk will be Mr Lee for a couple of weeks  I can't wait to see Seri and Mr. Lee's interactions especially when there are others around. I am sure Seri will be so lovely like in North korea with her bodyguard but people in Seoul will be shocked to her being like that. I am looking forward to JeongHyeok's meeting with Seri's family. Also it wouldn't hurt to have some hot scenes in Seri's house:wub: you know what i am saying ;)

Seri's father is the only one knows about her North Korean stay as i assume he collected her from the Southern part of demilitarised zone. It will be interesting seeing him and JeongHyeok to meet. As for Seri's mother, i think she bought many stocks of Seri's choice to protect the company against second oppa's wife but Seri doesn't know this and treated her mother harshly. She will come to know this and mend her broken relationship with her finally. And i think the first oppa will get the CEO position in Queens group because Seri will choose love. Seri wanted the position to prove a point to people and especially to be acknowledged by her father but it will no longer needed when she choose Ri Jeong Hyeok. I predict she will open a branch of Seri's choice in Switzerland when she settle there with JeongHyeok. It would have been lovely if she could do that in North Korea but its unfortunately not possible.

  17. d@nuttyz I agree there is something fishy about Seo Dan's uncle but i don't think he is the mastermind behind everything. He might be one of the people who are orchestrating the whole scheme of illegal money business in North Korea (in this way he helps his nuna to run high end business and control dollars in Pyongyang). But i also think that it would be better for them to kill Cheol Kang rather than letting him go since he knows a lot. The uncle didn't let judge to hear Cheol Kang about Ri JeongHyeok so the judge cut him short and gave the verdict so quickly. this kind of shows that the uncle wanted a quick and clean end without letting Cheol Kang to complicate anything and further reveal them as well.

Just finished episode 10, WOW, daebak!

This show has been trending in China, and I've been lurking on Weibo since its the fastest source I could find online. I've seen a few theories floating around on Weibo and thought of sharing here!

    Biggest baddie

      Hide contents

Conspiracy theory: the biggest baddie could have been Seo Dan's uncle!! Beneath his funny man facade, he could have been the ultimate big boss who helped JCG escape, it doesn't make sense that JCG escaped to South so easily!

Suspicion 1: The nod he gave to the judge (and a small paper slip?) just before the verdict

Suspicion 2: He has been brushing off JH's suspicion twice: once when JH was in Pyeongyang just right before JH borrowed his special plate car, the other in epi 10 when JH confided in the uncle on his suspicion

If this turns out to be true, this is not only a Rom-Com, its also a mind-twisting thriller

Wow amazing episode! Really excited this see all the ducklings and JH in SK now! They will be amazed and awed by her life. Her life probably makes Dan's life look middle class. And now, she's once again poised to take over Queen's conglomerate.

Couple of things I'm curious about and observed:

    1. The whole shareholder's meeting was unclear. They announced SR' second oldest brother as the successor, but according to what I heard in today's episode, everything has been reset because now SR is back. So her Dad seems like he wants to once again make SR the CEO of Queens conglomerate. Her brothers, especially the second oldest one wont be so thrilled about this. Looking forward to seeing some JH protecting SR scenes. Even feeling like the brothers might team up with the villain to take SR down.

    2. So it seems like a few weeks has passed since SR returned to SK and only her father seems to have known about it. And the Ducklings and JH only have 2 weeks to catch the villain before they have to return back to NK.

    3. Was JH's mission to SK authorized? Cause it seems like he just left to catch the villain, but since his father is such a powerful man, he'll probably spin the story that he gave JH authorization to catch his first son's killer. It's very personal for their family.

    4. Glad to see that Dan has finally stopped pining after JH and her family is in agreement that the best thing to do is break of this engagement. I hope Dan "dumps him first" and tells her mom and JH's parents that she is no longer interested in JH.

I think the results of the latest board meeting has not been reset. The current CEO of the Queens group is the second oppa. However since the Seri's Choice board meeting was interrupted by Seri herself, she is still the CEO and the owner of the company. But now Sang-a is next biggest shareholder of the company which is a problem for Seri. Her mother is the third biggest shareholder now. I think she didn't do it to take advantage of the situation rather wanted to protect Seri from Sang-a (oppa's wife). I think her aim was to collect as much as stock possible before Sang-a bought everything for the sake of Seri and her legacy (as she assumed her to be dead). Now she will give them all back to Seri.

I also think JeongHyeok's departure was not authorised so if it is known he will be branded as traitor/defector. As his father know the reason of his departure, he wants to protect his son and retrieve him back as quietly as possible. It is like "confidential assignment" (i highly recommend everyone to watch it, the movie of Hyun Bin in my opinion:heart:)

their height difference is so cute (184 cm - 165 cm) ,she so tiny beside hyun bin.

yeah the structure of their face its kinda same,so maybe they kinda look alike.

I agree I thought they looked very similar until i saw Son-Yejin's father's picture. Hyun Bin is a total look alike with him in my opinion and Son Ye-jin took after her father so its natural that these two has similar features

  19. Hello fellow dongmudeul :)

I have been lurking around for a really long time but haven't posted anything yet. Its my first time in this thread as well as overall forum. I normally just like to read the conversations but CLOY made me so hyper and happy so that i cannot contain myself anymore :)

I watched the other drama (LOFTBS) of this writer however i couldn't even finish it to be honest. Acting was all great but there was something missing, too many fairy tale elements made me unable to sympathise with the characthers and the second leads (which i most of the time love more than main leads in K-dramas) were mere spiteful caricatures. But this time with CLOY, writer-nim shows that she did extensive research about the setting and arrange the plot where there are some unrealistic things meshed with reality. I was doubtful to watch the drama because of my experience with LOFTBS but i wanted to watch Son ye-jin and Hyun Bin act together again (I really loved them together in Negotiator). The writer-nim proved me wrong, CLOY is the best drama I have watched since like forever. I have never watched an episode again and again right after it aired.

I really like Ri JeongHyuk's tsundere character. Especially in the last scene where he lied that he is bad at finding directions at night, my heart melted. Whole theme of the drama is set on Ri JeongHyuk to find Seri and save her (even from the Switzerland time). It has been consistent so far. I think after the bad guy Cho Cheol Kang escape from detention centre, JeongHyuk and his team will go after him to South Korea to protect Seri. I didn't expect them to be in South Korea to be honest but its the direction as it seems which is not bad. this way he can also see how Seri's life in South Korea and meet her family like she met his family in Pyongyang. I think he will understand her family better than his imagination. He thought even though they fight, her brothers must have love her but he will see it first hand that their feelings are clouded by the greed. Maybe this time JeongHyuk could tell her let's be together somewhere else where you won't be lonely and beloved and they would move to Switzerland. It's my wishful thinking i know. I assume they will meet there coincidentally after being separated for some time.

I love North Korean setting more than South. I love ajummas and F4 and their interactions with Seri.  Although it is a total different life style, Seri felt welcomed and even more she felt loved there. I would have loved that she stayed in North for good but it is not realistic.

After watching todays preview, I knew (and most of us too) they will be in South Korea next week. What excites me about it that Kim Ju mok might meet his ideal type Choi Ji Woo as promised. I don't know if it is confirmed but i have just read somewhere that she will have a cameo, i will be so happy if it is actually true :)

Sorry about the long post! Please keep going as you do with great discussion and fun GIFs. I really enjoy this thread!
