@rubie it's winter in the country so it must be a coat. This is my impression... the missionary can also be warmly dressed and in one picture I see local people in the background.

I have a feeling that the girl who teaches AS will die (low origin, she thinks about love, she learns English and is very nice person, new member of RA and a nurse in a field hospital because this fits her?), 2 former slave hunters will die in the fight for the country (life forced them to such work but they died with honor). Someone more will die? I didnt thought about it that much.

History is the spoiler for this drama. KES is known for happy endings, I wonder how she will make another happy ending out of this, or will be sad ending eventually.
I wrote that she will be ignored. I didnt wrote that she will be sent by the emperor and the government. The purpose of sending her will be to ensure safety since she is like a mother of Korea (educated, knows culture). I think there is another hidden symbol here. She will return to Korea in 1945 with American soldiers. Political correctness?

HS and Eugene come to know of this - both arrive there separately or maybe together, are refused entry and face off against the ronins. Some scuffle must happen because Eugene is injured in one of the stills.

Why do I have the feeling that AS will go to America as an ambassador? She is learning English, relationship with Eugene, friendship with Kyle and American soldiers (future), one of the leaders of RA (future). AS is noble woman from one of the most powerful families in Joseon.
She will be seriously wounded after battle and slowly recover? EC and the others will send her to America (EC and Kyle will be aware that she will be ignored but it is about her safety).
I can already see through the eyes of the imagination how she goes in the winter in men's gloves on the streets of Washington and arouses the curiosity of the locals - hanbok and men's gloves
my thoughts:
pics: EC/HS fight vs ronins? AS will come there with a visit and a gun
HS will see her for the first time in a mask and suit and with a gun.
EC has gloves. HS visited AS at school and she had gloves in her hands. He will guess their relationship.

EC mother said ""i want be like a flower in next life, you will live in a house like this, i will bloom in the garden."
He was a slave in Joseon - his father and mother were killed, he run away and go America (bad ending). EC in next life is an American soldier (captain), acting consul in Joseon, he met AS and fell in love.
AS is like reincarnation of his mother (she was born few years later and look very similar, she is a noble woman not a slave, brave like EC mother) and second precious woman in his life.
I think AS will ask him once about his mother and he will show her a hairpin. AS is brave and bold enough to ask for a hairpin and wear it (good ending). She would prefer to wear a piece of wood in her hair (so important for EC), not those beautiful aristocratic hairpins. A hairpin is a symbol for me that EC and AS could have a good ending.
It seems to me that in the end they will live together in America and will have a cozy house with a garden with flowers that will remind him of his mother.

I have a impression that EC mother could be still alive and he will find her accidentally during the war with Japan... She escaped somewhere north of the country? We didnt see her body and she could plan to throw the shoe into the well. Choi's family could be shocked by the incident and didnt even look for her body in the well. They moved to Hanseong. EC regain his biological mother after losing his stepfather?
That could be a good plot twist. Of course, this is just a theory.-

@miracle23Yes. Lee Van Ik, Royal phisician - japanese origin, poison emperor, Hina... This can be another thing that can lead to the execution of LVI.
@saturn AS, letter, blaming herself after Joseph death (crying scene). I like it because this is one more step in AS growing up. EC discovers that Joseph was a supporter of the emperor (reason EC) and could die sooner or later? He doesnt blame her. It would calm her soul.
AS parents - they had a private wedding (photo) but not official (custom)

@Susie Derkins We found out few days ago Joseph will die and even wrote some predictions. Police Chief and his help is reasonable because he didnt pay the debt (we cant predict everything :))
Yes. An old friend could eavesdrop and this is something new, interesting in this story.

The death of AeShin mother Kim Hui Jin? and her father Go Sangwan is a mystery. They were members of RA. They were not married (why? what is her origin? she is girl from low noble family? why woman was RA member and why she was in Japan?) and Aeshin born one day before their death and back alive with 2 RA members from Japan?
What revolt? They wanted kill Lee Van Ik in Japan?

my thoughts?
1. right+left AS hand (servants) focused prisoner (suit, tied, under guard), few servants carried a palanquin, maybe servants dont know Aesun's husband because she lives in his house, AeShin and Aesun are in bad terms, Aeshin hear talk (curiosity) opened window and saw only prisoner and AeSun husband passed palanquin and had collar after injury and wears a suit. Prisoner had a panic attack after seeing AS face (her mother), servants quickly closed the window.
Maybe Aeshin saw him only one time few years ago? She has already passed the age of marriage and is an old lady (28-29) and EC is blessing sent from heaven xD
2. Yes. Aeshin has a debt and probably wants to help her.

I will write about something else...
I chose too easy route. Korean drama is repetitive and boring. This is their problem when you see a few. Writers probably receive advices from Netflix and created a complicated plot. Something happened that I didnt expected, better for me because it just arouses my curiosity.
Lee See Hun mistress (they add something interesting, Lee Wan Ik spy but now useless)
AS Hina duel in Lee Van Ik house:
LVI personally killed new minister of foreign affairs (he go out and kill him and AS/Hina fight in his house)
Will both women be surprised after losing their masks?
Good fighters and what is her identity and for who she works?
Hina tell AS? „He is my father but we are not in good terms? He poisoned my husband and I looking for proof?”
Hina tell her about fight in Glory Hotel?
What AS tell Hina about her identity or something else?
This will be interesting conversation.
Hina will see the letters and give them back to AS. She already knows that they love each other when she was on the tram and got into a conversation with DM (she also saw the scene of gloves?)

AS give him letters (LVI house, warning) and ask who is Joseph? He tell truth (missionary, stepfather). I dont believe she tell this.

Joseph - predictions?
a few days ago I had no reason why he would die. Now it has become more interesting and I will give some of my theories.
Foreigner, supporter Emperor/King Joseon (reason EC his stepson), politicaly involved, Lee Van Ik dont know EC and Joseph is like son/father and thinks they work together (big mistake)
- Lee Van Ik hire robbers/assasins
- they attack Joseph close Hanseong or suburbs of the city
- EC hear about this attack (american citizens was robbed, he is acting consul, captain US army) and take few soldiers and arive and see Joseph (seriously injured)
- many locals hear about attack and start coming (event, curiosity)
- AS coming and see crying EC, blooded hand (photo) and last conversation EC-Joseph
- Joseph die
EC lose biological parents, stepfather and cant be with woman he loves (law, difference beetwen their origin). America turns a blind eye to the incident (it is not worth to politically intervene for a missionary).
EC want leave Joseon. AS asks her grandfather for help. America reject the request for EC transfer. However, the second time he leave and cut all information from Joseon. AS is broken and want back her man and want revenge (Lee Van Ik). She kill him or plot? (execution)
EC will hear about it, come back and stop her? LVI can be new minister pf foreign affairs and powerful man.
Why i think about AS? She is hot flame and without EC very dangerous and she dont show mercy. She is warm flame when EC is around and she is happy.

I must admit that I was also well trolled by previews and writers. I predicted something, but the plot went a little differently... murder of the new minister of foreign affairs by Lee Van Ik? More thoughts soon...

One thing though, I am happy that so far there hasn't been any forceful (without consent) kissing of the female lead by any of the male leads, specially the secondary leads. kdramas have an affliction when it comes to that.
Speculation about tonight's duel? I think it will end in a scenario where one of them sees the other's face(and if that happens, I am leaning towards Kudo Hina seeing Ae Shin's face) or maybe both see each other's faces. Either way, the prospect of a good 'sismance' taking shape is not out of the question. What do you guys think?
Thoughts/Predictions
AS+Hina duel Glory Hotel (night - all guests sleeping)
AS lose mask because Hina hit her in the shot leg (she has not recovered yet) and uses this opportunity and see AS face.
EC appear and stop this fight. Hina will be confused or she will want to regain respect in the eyes of the EC and also show that she can fight and is great fighter (competes with AS and want EC because she likes him) as a form of flirting and take off mask.

@Ahpheng I can be very critical. These writers are very interesting and good despite mistakes and stupid scenes (DOTS?). A few scenes were great, phenomenal and a few boring, pathetic or just stupid. They learn from mistakes and create better productions.
I'm here for a specific reason. I sensed that this series will be nice, interesting with original characters, plot twists and historical period. I like Asian culture, cuisine, history.
I travel a lot as a tourist (people, culture, cuisine, nature and architecture) - everyone have hobby and this is mine.
Mr Sunshine: I try follow the story carefully and predict it. It must fit me this or that. Even these relationships must make sense to me because characters are growing up.
Off topic: Haha. I thought nobody would discover it. I didnt think that some might have children. I had no idea for a nickname and it was a kind of mystery.
You are from Vietnam/Thailand because nickname directs me in those areas? Of course, I can be wrong. Your son is directing me to South Korea where Lol is very popular

@Ahpheng Im a guy and I say this in public (this is a form of courage :)) that your art work causes me a lot of positive feelings (smile, tears in my eyes). I can see how someone puts their heart into their work. Of course, there are several similar people in this thread. I hope they will not take offense when I say that your work is the best.

Returning to your idea. I wrote myself in an earlier post that AS and EC were to meet and talk in his room. Maybe the truth is closer to the fact that AS will appear at the end of the fight when the attacker starts to run away with the weapon down the stairs or along the corridor? The scene is very short and cant be seen clearly.
I am 100% sure of this lost photo (the writers showed it in Manchuria) and that EC will show it to the AS and she take it to her grandfather (he is powerful person)
Edit:
Lee Wan Ik finds out about EC and his involvement in the plot (certificate of the king, killing the minister of foreign affairs?). He will feel threatened because EC is a dangerous man or he will hate him because he became a farm minister or both these things? For me, this is the only reasons for his interest in our main character EC at this moment and sending assassin but he fail and run away (Unfortunately, the same person betrayed AS parents 28 years ago).

@rubie It seems to me that Kyle (best friend) will come up and say a few words of support. Next to Korean women is a man in officer's uniform - Kyle. The missionary probably boasted about his Korean son, 2 women in the back realize that it's Eugene (his cry). I expect a sad scene
