Lee Min-ho's 'Bounty Hunters' unveils still images

On May 4th, the Korea China joint film, "Bounty Hunters" has unveiled several still images starring Lee Min-ho and other actors.

In the revealed still images, Lee Min-ho looks gentle in the suit with luxurious pattern. The tense look on his face creates such dynamic atmosphere along with other actors in the scene.

"Bounty Hunters" directed by Sin Tae-ra well-known for his 'My Girlfriend is an Agent' and produced by Raymond Wong of 'A Better Tomorrow', depicts the stories of reward hunters.

Lee Min-ho plays Lee San, a handsome man with unparalleled martial art skills. The movie is opening in China on June 9th.

Lee Min-ho joins agency run by his sister

 

 

Actor and model Lee Min-ho has signed with MYM Entertainment.

Lee’s former agency, Starhaus Entertainment, announced Wednesday the star’s signing with the new company. “Lee is setting out for a new start at MYM Entertainment that will provide him with more systematic support,” Starhaus said.

MYM Entertainment is a joint venture company of Jang Young-hoon, the head of Starhaus Entertainment, and Lee Yoon-jeong, the head of the management company Euphoria Seoul. Lee Yoon-jeong is the actor’s sister.

“As Lee Min-ho has become one of the most influential Korean Wave stars, the company will aid him by working with experts from relevant areas to optimize his potential as an actor,” the company said. “Starting from Lee’s management we will recruit more artists.”

The actor has been recognized as one of the top Korean Wave stars after the success of the popular drama series “Boys Over Flowers” (2009) in which he played the lead role.

Meanwhile, Lee is currently in China to promote the upcoming movie “Bounty Hunters,” which is slated to hit Chinese theaters in June.

Lee Min-ho’s ‘Bounty Hunters’ stills unveiled

Stills of actor Lee Min-ho’s new Korean-Chinese film “Bounty Hunters” were released Wednesday.

In one of the pictures released on the film’s Weibo account, Lee is wearing a suit with black and white flower pattern and a black bow tie, looking charming and fashionable.

Action film “Bounty Hunters,” directed by Korean director Shin Tae-ra, portrays five bounty hunters who are hired to catch fugitives in China, Hong Kong, Korea and Thailand. The film is working under a mega budget of 35 billion won ($31 million), funded by investments from Korea, China and Hong Kong.

Lee stars as the main lead Yi San, alongside Hong Kong actor-singer Wallace Chung and Chinese actress Tiffany Tang.

The film opens in China on June 9.

My 2 cents' worth:  LMH must have been brewing this for some time.  The fact that the offices (swanky!) is all ready and the WEBSITE is up as soon as the news was released just means that plans have been afoot for at least a year, agree?  From the press releases, I gather that this company is a multimedia outfit that will initiate, produce and market LMH's non-acting activities as well, hopefully for a wider global audience.  Way to go, babe!  You've always been a trendsetter insofar as hallyu imaging and marketing are concerned---hope this new company's synergy with you fastspeeds your evolution as a true and unrivaled multimedia global superstar.

Promotions are ramping up big time for upcoming Korean-Chinese joint production movieBounty Hunters. Starring Lee Min Ho, Wallace Chung, and Tang Yan, the movie is directed by a Korean movie director based on a Chinese script, following a team of swashbuckling bounty hunters on the heels of an international crime syndicate. The first trailer looked entertaining enough but I’m digging the movie even more after the just released second trailer, along with a slew of pretty new movie stills. Lee Min Ho looks fantastic, the look he sports in the movie suits him to a T and harkens back to the days of City Hunter. Wallace is equally at ease being handsome or dorky and does both with aplomb here. Even Tang Yan looks at ease being the in charge femme fatale. Love it!

[Asian Filmist Guest Post List] 5 Korean movies to watch from 2015

While it is 2016 currently and Korean films are starting to pick up, it's good to look back at last year's films.

For many people, the end of last year was the era of Star Wars, since episode 7 came out. However, while Star Wars was watched by many Koreans here in Seoul, 2015 Korean films held their own. In fact, another movie, the Himalayas, outsold the famed science fiction film on opening week.

Last year had some true gems in Korean cinema worth watching. From action to romance, 2015 was sure to have a film for everyone.

With that being said, here's five movies to watch in 2015 in no particular order.

"Gangnam Blues"

During the 1970s, two orphans, Jong-dae (Lee Min-ho) and Yong-gi (Kim Rae-won) sell trash found on the street to get by. They soon find themselves freezing, as they cannot afford heating.

When a gang offers the two kids a job, they immediately jump on it. Yet, during one of their jobs, they become separated when trying to break up a political demonstration.

Three years later, they meet up as rivals from different gangs. Their gangs are fighting over the farmland south of the Han River known today as the ritzy Gangnam area. Their friendship will soon be severely tested against their gang loyalties.

One of the lead stars, Lee Min-ho, is mega-popular within Asia. While it is easy to dismiss him as "just another pretty boy", he does a convincing job as a gangster on the rise. Veteran Kim Rae-won also does a great job selling the rivalry and becoming a gangster to be reckoned with.
