Regarding why he decided to come back to the Korean small screen after a long time away with this drama, the actor simply said, "ParkJinJun."  He meant the trifecta: writer Park Ji Eun, director Jin Hyuk, and actress Jun Ji Hyun.  

He said about his co-star, Jun Ji Hyun, "I like her a lot.  But we didn't get close right away . . . At first, I was uncomfortable, but, fortunately, while we were going abroad and back to shoot overseas, we got really close.  We've become friends to the point we'd laugh just by looking at each other."

Lastly, he said about viewer ratings, "I wish that we would get over 30% in viewer ratings.  It'd be nice if we got about 12 to 13% for our first broadcast."

Hi Chellsee, thanks for sharing this & the clips above.  In K-Chart, 30% viewer ratings are considered "phenomenal" drama & 12-13% is "safe". I hope his drama will be a HIT! About those pictures you posted where he looks like a nerd, I find it funny when I look at his hair there - hahaha. But, his face doesn't change at all, still very adorable.

“The Legend Of The Blue Sea” Releases Posters And Names 3 Reasons For Viewers To Tune In

 

On November 14, “The Legend Of The Blue Sea” released two stunning new posters!

The first poster shows Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun in the backdrop of a rainy street, while the second poster stunningly depicts the traditional period of the drama.

A recent report has also revealed three reasons for viewers to tune in!

The first point is that the drama promises a lot of fun with a mix of romance and fantasy. This drama’s interesting premise is that a mermaid, whose kind is on the brink of extinction, enters into the human world and tries to adapt to life on land. Viewers will be able to see the mermaid’s turbulent experience as well as a different kind of romance as she falls in love with a human man.

The second point is that viewers will be able to learn more about the mermaid’s story and how her connection with Lee Min Ho starts from the past and continues to the present. The mermaid’s connection with conman Heo Jun Jae as well as magistrate Dam Ryung will be revealed throughout the drama.

The third and final point is that the drama boasts an incredible cast and crew. With a solid supporting cast, “The Legend of the Blue Sea” features veteran actors such as Sung Dong Il, Na Young Hee, Hwang Shin Hye, and more. The writer, Park Ji Eun, is known for writing the popular drama “My Love From the Star,” while director Jin Hyuk is known for directing the popular drama “Master’s Sun.”

Lee Min-ho, who stars in the upcoming drama “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” greeted fans for the first time on Naver’s V app Monday. 

It has been a while since he appeared in a Korean series and he told fans how much the upcoming drama means to him. 

During the live broadcast, Lee said, “I had a production press conference today for ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea’ so I feel very tired and feel like doing the broadcast lying in bed.” 

Some posters for the new drama have been revealed, showing the two lead characters, Lee Min-ho and Jun Ji-hyun, another top celebrity. 

“The Legend of the Blue Sea,” a combination of romance, fantasy and comedy, revolves around a mermaid played by Jun, who enters a totally different world and tries to adapt to society. She later falls in love with a character played by Lee. 

Lee expressed hope during the broadcast that the drama would be a big hit. “It was a great opportunity for me to work with so many great actors and actresses altogether and I do hope fans will like watching it,” he said. 

When asked by fans if he had any particular reason for taking a role in the drama, he said, “I feel honored to work with the drama’s director, writer and, especially, the great actress Jun Ji-hyun.”

“We weren’t that close in the beginning,” Lee said. “I felt nervous at first, but soon we become good friends.” 

Lee also said, “The drama is set to hit screens in two days and I hope it will warm the hearts of fans in this cold weather.”

Thanks Chingu for the shoutout. I enjoyed his interview immensely and more so the second time around since I could just focus on his face while reading the subs. I was reading some comments on twitter from non-fans on how pleasantly surprised they were to see how bubbly and smart our boy is. Of course we knew this all along but still I basked in loving pride as more and more people got to know him more "intimately" now as we have all these years 

At first I thought that they were really filming in his home since the marble floors looked familiar. But when I looked again at his birthday posts in 2015 (when he was opening his gifts with Choco), I noticed that his home's floors had a pattern (like Murano marble), so I believed him 

ONE.MORE.DAY. Can't concentrate on work now. Feels like I'm about to give birth to my first child. The anticipation, anxiety and excitement of what's to come is giving me heart palpitation. Kyaaah 

oh, and didn't he look oh so fine in the press conference? He looked every inch a modern day prince
