My 1st KCon experience was a hoot! Too bad that I didn't know of it earlier, could have planned better.  Even if I didn't get to see uri LMH (his presence was pretty much limited to the concertgoers), I had a good time learning a little bit of Korean pop culture.  Perhaps because my exposure to K-culture has mainly been K-dramas and LMH, I was blown away by how huge K-pop is among American teenagers and young adults.  There were pockets of performances on the convention floor that I was not familiar with but were memorized (songs and dance moves) by teens of various ethnicities leaving me so impressed.  I ventured to ask one of them how they got to know these groups since they're not on TV, and I was told that they watched YT videos. The convention also showcased popular YTubers.  

Even though I knew that I wouldn't be able to watch the concert (tickets sold out, scalped prices too high), I thought that I (and Carolyn, my dear temporarily-walk-disadvantaged co-SooMZie) could at least watch the red carpet.  But natch, tickets were not on sale and given randomly to concert ticketholders.  There was talk that LMH was seen in one of the convention halls (might be the time he was interviewed by Extra TV) right before he went to Staples Center but he must have been escorted through the back doors. That could also have been the time when there was a "hold order" given to everyone where we couldn't leave our positions due to a gas leak---I wouldn't be surprised if that was because LMH was in one of the halls and they didn't want to cause a pandemonium.  Hah.

Of course K-culture cannot be without K-drama.  DF was there and so was MBC.  CJ E&M showed K-dramas all day.  And Soompi was there to my delight.  Carolyn and I won a few goodies (beauty products and merch).  Happy to finally meet Dramabeans wonderwomen--javabeans, girlfriday, gummimochi and headsno2.  All very smart and easy on the eyes, just how we want our dramas! In one of the panels, I was very much amused and impressed by the wide K-drama vocabulary of the attendees.  I definitely need to watch more dramas or at least not limit my vocab to LMH (but ottoke.....).  

So where's our boy headed to next, anybody knows?  Heard that LotBS will be shot in Down Under---true?

I have to say that he looked very cool and classy when he came out to introduce the KCon Concert. I was feeling anxious if he could deliver well considering the foreign audience but my anxiety was totally unfounded. He looked relaxed and very professional and it felt like he was in his own concert. I'm so, so proud of him!

A couple more thoughts about KCON.  First, thanks again to Pixie for putting up me with me limping around.  I had some reservations about attending because I knew there would be a lot of people and there would be a good possibility of people kicking my injured leg.  The line to get in would have also discouraged me even if I had two healthy legs.  However, my crutch did get us to the front of the line-no wait.  I met a mother on two crutches who accompanied her 12 year old daughter, a k-poper.  What a great mother!  They also attended KCON on Friday.  I was disappointed that there wasn't a little more emphasis on kdrama, but it was still an interesting experience and would encourage people to attend.  I figure at some point we might have been at least within 5 miles of LMH, so close yet so far lol.  

In a survey inquiring about my KCON experience, in response to the question what actor I would like to see at KCON, of course, I answered LMH! lol

He is so astute. This is so true. (And need I mention how much he rocks that sweater?)

And I don't think it's a stretch to say that he had a lot to do with breaking those boundaries.

I'm just too glad that he's one of the first to acknowledge this fact and has continued to embark on projects that promote cross-cultural giving

Yes, I went to see it at Friday afternoon, and just like you said, after watched too many teasers, I could not feel so many funnies, but our bb was great in the movie.
