What's the news about "Josee," w Nam Joo Hyuk? I hope scriptwriter of the adaptation of the original Japanese film will do justice to the acting talents of HJM & NJH. Tell us a story of enduring love by virtuous characters. The original Japanese characters lack in virtues. Can we see redeeming HOPE w the 2 roles having resilient & courageous determination to the end? I hope the director & writer are given the "rights" to show a more enduring love between Josee (HJM) & Tsuneo (NJH) & present the film without any rated-R scenes like the original. Don't do Hollywood style of telling a great story where audiences are robbed of "intelligent imagination" & dignity of the human person ( self-respect of actress HJM & NJH when they don't need to disrobed & show us pornographic scenes like the original did). If Korean director & writer cannot satisfy our great expectations from great Korean dramas we are used to watching ( I meant HJM's dramas & films), then Josee is not for our beloved Best Actress, Han Ji Min. Hope she gets to read my comment ( wish NJH reads it, too).

We are turned off by Hollywood/BBC & European  films, that's why we watch Korean dramas & films (there are some not so good Korean dramas & films that have no moral integrity in their stories & too provocative presentations, that's why we don't like to watch those).

@Maria Silmarowelcome to han ji min's thread. I agree with all your points. Han ji min has not confirmed yet if she will star in Josee but NJH already confirmed. The news said she is considering and in final negotiations. I guess we will hear the news once ji min is back from her vacation. I have heard the target start of that movie is October. We know ji min, i am sure if she will accept she has already set her limitations when it comes to intimate scenes. I am also hoping they will make some changes for the better. It is all up to the director which i believe is also the scriptwriter. Many are anticipating her next movie after Miss Baek so i hope she will choose the right project I don't prefer that remake since i like original ones but we don't know, if ji min accept then i guess she has seen something in that movie.

 

Kim hye ja sunbaenim mentioned ji min a couple of times. I hope there's someone who can translate.

Kim: (Han) Ji-min noona is very warm and funny person. Everyone surprised when I called her noona. When I filmed, I called her "Jung-in ah", so it's awkward to call her noona. I became close to actors in the Spring Night, and I still keep in touch. I couldn't attend the workshop everyone went because I had the schedule conflict. I was very disappointed.

 

Q: You still keep in touch with actors in Spring Night?
Kim: I still contact them because we became friendly. Ji-min noona, (Jung) Hae-in, (Joo) Min-kyung, (Lee) Chang-hoon hyung, (Im) Hyun-soo -I drink with them and all are doing well.
Everybody worked their hardest to make a good project this time. I really want to work with Spring Night family again someday. I think I will miss them a lot

Haha! Kim Jun Han is only 4 months younger than Ji Min and he called her noona!    no wonder everyone is shocked especially Jung Hae In who is much younger than him.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.  Yes, i agreed with @richelle that if Ji Min will to accept Josee, she will definitely set her limitations.  Also the film actually has many potential exploration of Josee character.  The social issue of a disabled, poor, the self esteem, the insecurity.  The loveline will be how a person can see beyond the physical and embrace her with love and not sympathy.  But if melo then there will be heart wrenching.

 

If you watch Spring Night and Something in the Rain drama, one can already feel the difference in intimate scene.

I have seen kim min gyu in a few dramas but not lee jung hyun. Ji min's acting in dazzling is her best i think even though she has limited scenes. But since she was in the beginning and ending episodes, her appearance is really important. Short role but very impactful. No wonder many are mesmerized by her acting
