shortee28
can u add a password on the startup screen like in windows? i'm assuming when you first turn on the computer right?? - click on the apple on the top left hand corner - go to "System Preferences" - under System, click on "Accounts" (here you can add other login names as well) - put your login name and set a password - click on "Show All" at the top (brings you back to all the preferences) - under Person, click on "Security" - Where it says "For all the accounts on this computer:" check the box "Disable automatic login" any other questions feel free to ask.. I'm not sure about the color. i know the white one is glossy... is the black one glossy too? How do you protect your mac? Like prevent scratches, dirty, etc. And how do you clean them? i have the black macbook. to keep it clean i use a special cloth. i use the cloth that comes with my eye glasses so that when i wipe it, it doesn't leave dust or whatnot still on it... for my screen i use regular water, nothing else.. i used that same procedure with my old powerbook g4 12" to keep it as clean as possible, i wipe it after i use it everytime... my bf has the black macbook too and uses his eye glass cleaner solution to wipe off finger prints left on the black... i'm not quite sure how ppl take care of the white.. but i know quite a few ppl who's white macbook turns yellow/grey where the palms are and such.... the black macbook is not glossy. it has a matte finish to it... (i like it better) as for preventing scratching... just be extra careful and buy a sleeve for it. not just dump it in a regular laptop messenger bag... keep it in those special laptop sleeves.. they use a nice soft material. they have it available at the apple store.. Guest laihanSUPERJUNIOR
thanks for the info dogs7268; - - - - - - - - is there a program that converts wma to mp3 or something? and what can i use to play RMVB files Yeah, there is. I'm using a program called switch. Try finding for it. Actually i-tunes is already able to convert files into mp3 format but... wma isn't "readable" by i-tunes so you can't use it i guess cos I've tried that already. Anyway, if you have got any files that you want to convert it mp3 format using i-tunes. Just highlight the song you want and go to the top click on the one that says "advanced" there you will see a whole list of stuff click on the one that says "convert selection to MP3" and it will automatically convert for you. Guest bunniecuppycakez
hi everyone! I am a PROUD MacBook user. I had just got a MacBook 13'' back in July this year!!(about a month ago) After your Dell Latitude laptop crashes 100293849028340934x a day, after 6 re-formats every 3 months. You just get tired of Windows. I was looking online, and I really like the MacBook Pro. I don't know if I should go back and exchange the MacBook for the MacBook Pro. So can someone give me some inputs on how they compare? like..which one would YOU prefer. What are some Pros and Cons of the MacBook and the MacBook Pro? and also. HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE PLACE WHERE YOUR HAND LEAVES THIS...YELLOW STAIN ON THE WHITE MACBOOK? I tried like lense wipes on there and it doesn't work....=( thanks so much! Guest dREAMYrEVERIE
and also. HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE PLACE WHERE YOUR HAND LEAVES THIS...YELLOW STAIN ON THE WHITE MACBOOK? I tried like lense wipes on there and it doesn't work....=( thanks so much! ACK YEAH my white macbook started doing that.. so... I decided to buy a cover just for the keyboard. That picture is from amazon, I bought it from ebay for like $8 after shipping though. =) I can't wait until it comes, it covers the palm area also so there shouldn't be any more problems. Plus if it gets dirty you can pull it off and clean it instead of the macbook ><.

Thanks in advance! congrats to your macbook.... if you're downloading bootcamp, you don't need parallels or vmware fusion. it's just available software when bootcamp wasn't available to use... you still need the get the windows cd in order to run windows on your mac... you'll need to partition the hard drive...
