you guys pointed out very well that even if the movie didn't make that much money...she had a good time doing it. i like how kim tae hee is not worried about how much money the movie made but how she liked the role and she took it because it relates to her so well. shes also thoughtful of the many friends she made on the set.

back in the day...movies weren't dictated by how much money they made, but if it appealed to the viewers and if the movie had a great story. although fantasy isnt a popular genre in korea...i wouldnt think it would be that bad of a movie. i still have to watch it...but i know i wont be disappointed knowing that kim tae hee enjoyed working on a movie for the first time. and its all about the mature process as she states...but i think we already know how mature she is already. things can only go up from here

and i think its cute that some of her fans call her ate...my own lil brother doesnt even call me kuya haha

But also i love how she always thinks of her fans and the others around her, she is always hoping for the best for others and she seems such a religious person. :blush:

Oh and going onto the SHK and KTH collabo, i was talking to others on the SHK thread and its been so long since SHK did a drama because she has been working on Hwangji for so long, that some are thinking that she has fully moved onto just film now, for me i think the success of Hwangji will decide that in a way. But it be great to see the two together, people will go crazy to see it. It be great to see them do a cf together since they are like the top cf queens

Some people act like this is her last movie or something. shes just beginning. and for those who think she can't act should remember that everybody has time to grow. experiences like these are helping her become a better actress.

yea i agree, it's funny how pple are making it out to be she's hopeless instead of giving her encouragements for her debut.

yups i think she really did write Tae Hee in the New Year greetings thingy. i thought tht was so cute too and went to check again and saw her name. she doesn't write 'I' but her own name. this is the line 2007년에도 더 좋은 모습으로 인사드릴 수 있도록 노력하는 태희가 되겠습니다. and the one in bold is Tae Hee

she's such a selfless person and yups i read that she's kinda religious and tht she goes for mass every weekend even with her busy schedule. if i'm not wrong, after they worked together, Kim Rae Won said tht she said something to him which sorta made him realise he's been neglecting religion etc because of his busy work life and i think probably frm then on, he makes it a point to do something abt it. i think she asked him, "is there something you have not done in the past year?"

istatowin, when you mentioned putting Won Bin with Tae Hee and SHK in a drama, i thought also of adding another guy to the cast, and the guy tht comes to mind is Kim Rae Won. not only will it be a reunion for TaeHee&RaeWon, it'd also be a reunion for Rae Won & SHK after they paired up in the 1999 sitcom, Soong Poong Clinic how interesting tht both girls have collaborated with both guys would be fun watching all 4 together and we can have 2 happy couples, no third parties

I was reading and thinking about what you guys wrote. I thought I should voice my personal opinions too... I don't consider this movie as a flop in terms of effort. It's just that the ticket sales can't catch up with the production cost, that's all. As brought up by many of you, the effort given by all crew members and cast is priceless. The team put in their best effort even knowing that this genre won't sell in Korea. I think they should be recognised for their effort. At least we are glad that the crew and of cos Tae Hee did not jump on the comedy bandwagon.

And we shall all learn from Tae Hee, it's the process that is more important than the figures. She enjoyed working on her debut movie and gained valuable experiences and friendship. Tae Hee is always ready to take up new challenge like unfavourable role as Yuri in Stairways in Heaven and fighting role in Nine Tale Fox. It affirms that we made the right choice supporting her.

I can't help it but to screencap the figures from the Korean Film Council website. Forget about the ranking, as it is according to the period sales (from 1 Jan - 07 Jan 06).

The total sales of 'The Restless' as at 7 Jan 06 is actually 1,429,129, it is actually nearing 1.5million. Looking down the full list (but I only screencap top 10) this figure actually ranked 4 out of 72 according to total sales. Doesn't it show that it is still well-received by the audience? But the media just report on the bad side. The media seems to be waiting to see the movies flop, esp The Restless.
