Other than that let me get on with my main issue with the female lead. I don't know if this is the issue with the actress herself or how she is portraying the character. (I haven't been watching a lot of her dramas or they have been so apart that I can't confirm the accuracy). At times she tends to mumble her lines. Now as someone who doesn't understand Korean at all and relies on the subtitles it isn't really a major issue since we find out what she is saying anyway. It just feels off perhaps those that totally understand Korean might not have an issue and I am probably making a big deal out of nothing.

 

next we have all these other interrelated stories as usual and I wonder how they will resolve them. Just look at the pairings that they are hinting us with. Female lead and Male lead have their own issues considering what the mother did to his family. But if we think that ends over there. Think again her brother seems to bump more often into the male leads cousin? also their drunken two nights together. The show is clearly hinting at this pairing. So it means that this family has really got its hurdles to overcome. Good luck in that department.

 

At first it seemed like Mari's father may have known the truth about his wives past hence giving her chances to reveal the truth on her own. But maybe that isn't the case or was he further confirming the facts for himself by suggesting that Mari should marry the male lead.

 

The issue people bring up with them wanting to marry of their daughter to a slimy older guy is understandable from a viewers point of view. But when it comes to a parent things are different. They need to get their daughter married because they know for a fact that they won't be around forever to look after her. Had Mari been okay mentally this wouldn't have been an issue because they would know that she could look after herself even if they weren't around. But just look at her recent incident where she was nearly abducted and things could have gotten worse for her if she wasn't rescued by the female leads brother. So what they really need is a protector and caretaker for her at this point and the only one in their opinion to do so should be a husband for her. I guess they wanting to hand the company over to him should serve as an incentive that the person looks after her and keeps her happy. But marriages like that don't work out in real life but considering their situation it kind of make sense to me that they would be happy to accept any marriage at this point as long as they think that their daughter stays happy and secure.

 

The female lead needs to have better management on her finances. It is absurd that she has still left such matters to her mother still. No wonder her mother is still causing troubles for everyone. She really can't blame that she did everything for her kids and that they live a comfortable life. She was the one causing trouble and forcing her daughter to perform at a young age even when she didn't want to. Can the female lead take her mother to court for mismanaging her finances I wonder. Highly unlikely.

 

The male leads mother is at least decent enough to put aside her differences and let him date the female lead. His happiness is not only more important to her but she has realized that the female lead isn't responsible for her mothers actions and not only that but she kind of got what she wanted at the same time. She wanted a sincere apology from that family. It would have been preferable from the female leads mother but getting it from the female lead is a close second. As of now the female leads mother is a lost cause and I don't have much hope for her at this point.

After trying and failing to get her daughter involved with Gong Jin Dan (Go Yoon) instead, Mi Ja wound up ruining Do Ra’s life through her debt scandal, which brought the actress’s career crashing down in the blink of an eye.

Previously on “Beauty and Mr. Romantic,” Do Ra’s life fell apart in the blink of an eye due to her mother’s scandal. As she struggled to pay back her mother’s debts and the penalty fees she now owed advertisers, Do Ra had some harsh words for Pil Seung as she coldly turned him away.

However, in newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming episode, a lost Do Ra seeks Pil Seung out after reaching the peak of her despair. Clearly struggling in her darkest hour, Do Ra desperately tries to explain her situation to Pil Seung, but he responds by glaring at her coldly. After seeing Pil Seung’s reaction, Do Ra bursts into tears and breaks down sobbing on the spot.

Previously, Pil Seung fell into a great state of shock after learning of Do Ra’s passing, and he set out to find out the truth. Meanwhile, Do Ra was found by Lee Soon Jung (Lee Joo Shil) after jumping into the sea.

Ahead of the upcoming broadcast, the drama released new stills depicting Pil Seung’s professional side. For two years, Pil Seung loses himself in his work and becomes acknowledged as a director after his debut project. Despite having achieved his dream of becoming a director, Pil Seung appears to have changed following Do Ra’s death.

In addition to the stills depicting Pil Seung taking the lead as the main director, another photo captures Pil Seung longing for Do Ra alone. With an empty gaze, Pil Seung looks at the sea Do Ra fell into, conveying his sense of loss.

Dora has a new identity. At least her mom is mourning her after she disappeared.

Dora lived 2 years living as country-girl with a accent and was taking care of a grandma working at a beach-side diner.   

 

All she has is a different hair style and glasses. C'mon, you can't see that is Dora? 

 

Dora's new personality/indenity has a interest in drama production. Now, she has to leave the grandma that she spent 2 years with. Which probably treated her more like famiy in that two years than her mother ever did in her 20+ years.  

 

I noticed in other K-dramas when someone leaves prison, the first thing they eat is tofu. sam thing happened here. 

 

Dora's new indenity got a job at a network without having to do a job interview or any college education/background checks. Not even the janitorial staff gets a job this easy. I wish getting a job at a network or any other billion dollar corporation was this easy.

I'm starting to get the suspicion that Dora didn't try to commit suicide on purpose. She was pushed into the sea by the SML, and it was him that made it look like it was a suicide.   

 

Isn't it weird that SML would have nightmares of Dora huanting him AND how he is behaving in front of the shamen.  Does he feel guilty?

Both JTBC’s “The Atypical Family” and KBS 2TV’s “Beauty and Mr. Romantic” hit new all-time highs in viewership last night!

 

On May 12, “The Atypical Family” achieved its highest viewership ratings yet with its fourth episode.

 

“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” also climbed to the highest ratings of its run to date: the romance drama was the most-watched program of any kind to air on Sunday with an average nationwide rating of 18.3 percent.

@kboramint ~ Dora jumped on her own accord because she was pushed beyond her breaking point. SML feels guilty because he was the one who set her up by creating that sponsor scandal.

 

At least the SML feels guilty for his actions which is why he keeps seeing her ghost. However, the mom is an awful, awful, awful person.  She wanted compensation from SML! Seriously? Even after everything that happened, she gets out of jail and wants a find to way to cash in on Dora's death.

 

She created all these debts, was pushing her daughter to do nude shoot and then sell her off to a rich guy in marriage and she still feels no responsibility for her actions. So in comparison, the mom is the more evil person.

 

Overall, it wasn't just his actions. I feel the mom was the bigger factor in Dora's downfall. So both these two characters are also responsible. But like the actor guy said, everyone likes to throw eggs on celebs when they are down and in that sense, society as a whole is also responsible in the kind of vitirol that gets passed. 

 

When Dora regains her memory, she needs to kick the mom to the curb. It is good that the younger brother Do Jun just walked out on this family and rightly told the mother is to blame for Dora's death.

You might be right. This is after all still a family weekend drama. I was kind of hoping that they would go full on makjung.

I would love if she goes on makjang route where she does not forgive her family and tells her mother to take a hike. but this is a family weekend drama and so we might have the terrible arc of the mother somehow redeeming herself even though she is such a horrible user.

we are at ep 16. so drama is 50 eps. generally, these reveals happen pretty late in daily dramas right? so we should look at same timeline. maybe around ep 35 or so Dora will return to her old identity? yea, I can see ML falling in love with Ji Young or being drawn to her and being very confused about his feelings.

Previously, Park Do Ra survived a near-death experience after an extreme decision.

 

Following a full-body reconstruction surgery, she started a new life as Kim Ji Young, the granddaughter of Lee Soon Jung (Lee Joo Shil). Two years later, Ji Young meets Pil Seung, who is filming a drama in the neighborhood, and begins working as the youngest staff member of his drama team. Ji Young and Pil Seung, now staff and director, are entangled once again, raising expectations for this week’s broadcast.
