Plot

Nine Puzzle tells the story of Yoon Yi Na (Kim Da Mi), the only witness and suspect in a murder case, who becomes a profiler ten years later. She teams up with Detective Kim Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who doubts her as a suspect, to uncover hidden truths.

Kim Da Mi to possibly star alongside Son Seok Koo in the upcoming K-drama "Nine Puzzle"

Kim Da Mi and Son Seok Koo will possibly be the next pairing in the K-drama world.

On May 26, media outlets shared that Kim Da Mi will be working with Son Seok Koo in the upcoming K-drama titled Nine Puzzle.

In response to the circulating news, Son Seok Koo's agency SBD Entertainment shared their side. According to them, "Son Seok Koo did receive the offer to star in Nine Puzzle and he is positively considering it."

Kim Da Mi's agency United Artists Agency (UAA) also clarified that the actress is still reviewing the offer after receiving the script. 

Nine Puzzle will be the second K-drama work of director Yoon Jong Bin. He is known for creating the Netflix original K-drama Narco-Saints and the movies The Spy Gone North, KUNDO: Age of the Rampant, Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time, and more. 

The upcoming K-drama will showcase the journey of a profiler who's seeking the truth from a past case wherein she became both the witness and the suspect. 

Kim Da Mi got the offer to play the role of Lee Na, the only witness of a murder who became a profiler ten years later. 

Son Seok Koo received the character named Hanssem. He is a police officer who thinks Lee Na is the suspect in the murder case. 

There is no official confirmation yet on the broadcast network and release date of Nine Puzzle.

 

 

This will possibly be the grand comeback of Kim Da Mi to K-dramas. She last starred in the 2021 series Our Beloved Summer with Choi Woo Shik, Kim Sung Cheol, Roh Jeong Eui, Ahn Dong Goo, and Park Jin Joo.

Kim Da Mi is also set to lead the upcoming movie The Great Flood. 

Meanwhile, Nine Puzzle will be the third upcoming K-drama of Son Seok Koo. The actor will be leading the series Murder DIEary and will also return to D.P. Season 2. 

Son Seok Koo is also joining the upcoming films Comment Army and Virus.

Son Suk Ku Turns Down Offer To Star In Hong Sisters’ Drama + Joins Kim Da Mi In Talks For New Series By “Narco-Saints” Director

While Son Suk Ku has ultimately decided not to star in the new drama by the Hong Sisters, he is currently considering another offer for a drama by the “Narco-Saints” director.

On May 26, it was reported that Son Suk Ku and Kim Da Mi had been cast as the leads in the upcoming drama “Nine Puzzle” (literal title).

In response to the report, Son Suk Ku’s agency SBD Entertainment officially announced, “Son Suk Ku has been offered the role of Han Saem and is positively considering the offer.” Similarly, Kim Da Mi’s agency United Artists Agency (UAA) also remarked that she is currently reviewing the offer after receiving the script for “Nine Puzzle.”

Additionally, Son Suk Ku’s agency SBD Entertainment also commented on the current status of his other potential drama by the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran). The agency shared, “Unfortunately, he has decided not to appear after a long discussion.”

Back in April, SBD Entertainment confirmed that Son Sok Ku had received an offer for “Can This Love Be Translated?” (literal translation) by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters, whose previous works include the hit dramas “Alchemy of Souls,” “Hotel Del Luna,” “You’re Beautiful,” “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” and more.

Meanwhile, “Nine Puzzle” follows the story of Yi Na, the only witness and suspect in a past murder case who becomes a profiler 10 years later, as she digs into the hidden truth of that fateful night with a police detective named Han Saem who suspects her as the murderer. Son Suk Ku has been offered the role of Han Saem while Kim Da Mi is in talks to play Yi Na.

“Nine Puzzle” is director Yoon Jong Bin’s second drama after his hit Netflix series “Narco-Saints.” He had also directed many movies such as “Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time,” “Kundo: Age of the Rampant,” and “The Spy Gone North.”

Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku are in talks to collaborate with a star-studded lineup of guest appearances.

As reported by OSEN, Hwang Jung Min, Lee Sung Min, Lee Hee Joon, and Kim Ye Won are in discussions to make guest appearances in Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku's upcoming drama Nine Puzzle, directed by director Yoon Jong Bin.

Nine Puzzle tells the story of Yoon Yi Na (Kim Da Mi), the only witness and suspect in a murder case, who becomes a profiler ten years later. She teams up with Detective Kim Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who doubts her as a suspect, to uncover hidden truths.

The guest appearances in Nine Puzzle were offered considering the connection between the K-drama's director, Yoon Jong Bin, and the actors. 

Actor Hwang Jung Min previously collaborated with director Yoon Jong Bin in Narco-Saints and The Spy Gone North. Veteran actor Lee Sung Min worked with the director in films such as KUNDO: Age of the Rampant and A Violent Prosecutor (which the director produced). Lee Hee Joon played a supporting role in Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time. And actress Kim Ye Won was a part of Narco-Saints. 

Regarding the guest appearances, the actors' side stated, "We received an offer for guest appearances considering our connection with director Yoon Jong Bin, who directs the production, and we are currently in discussions."

Nine Puzzle is produced by Kakao Entertainment and the film company Wolgwang, and discussions are underway for the release schedule and platform.

The upcoming thriller mystery K-drama Nine Puzzle will reportedly have star-studded cameo appearances.

On January 25, media outlet OSEN revealed that top actors Hwang Jung Min, Lee Sung Min, Lee Hee Joon, and Kim Ye Won will reportedly make a cameo appearance in the upcoming K-drama Nine Puzzle that will be led by Kim Da Mi and Son Seok Koo.

According to reports, the top actors will be making a special appearance because of their relationship with the director of the K-drama, Yoon Jong Bin.  

Hwang Jung Min worked with the director through the K-drama Narco-Saints and The Spy Gone North. Lee Sung Min was part of the director's films KUNDO: Age of the Rampant and The Spy Gone North. Lee Hee Joon worked with the director through Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time, and Kim Ye Won was also part of the cast of Narco-Saints.

Meanwhile, according to the actors' representatives, they received the offer to make a special cameo appearance in Nine Puzzle and they are currently discussing it.

 

 

Nine Puzzle will revolve around Yi Na who was accused of murdering her beloved uncle. After ten years, she becomes a profiler and seeks the truth about the murder with her accuser, police officer Han Saem. 

The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Yoon Jong Bin and writer Lee Eun Mi (Navillera and Tunnel). This will be the second K-drama project of director Yoon Jong Bin who's known for creating box office films.

Park Gyu Young will reportedly join the cast of the upcoming K-drama Nine Puzzle.

On January 30, media outlet OSEN reported that Park Gyu Young will be added to the main cast of the upcoming thriller mystery K-drama Nine Puzzle. She will possibly work with brilliant actors  Kim Da Mi and Son Seok Koo in the series. 

Park Gyu Young's side hasn't responded to the casting reports. 

If Park Gyu Young officially joins the K-drama, this will be her third upcoming K-drama project. The actress is highly anticipated in the upcoming Squid Game Season 2 with other new casts ZE: A's Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Jo Yu Ri, Noh Jae Won, Won Ji An, and more. She is also expected to lead the upcoming K-drama Mangnaein with Kim Seon Ho, Lee So E, Lee Hong Nae, Jin Ho Eun, and Han Hyun Jun

Park Gyu Young recently starred in the K-drama A Good Day to Be a Dog which ended in January. She starred alongside Cha Eun Woo and showcased great chemistry. She was also praised for leading the 2023 Netflix original K-drama Celebrity.

On April 2, Disney+ confirmed the main cast of the upcoming K-drama Nine Puzzle. Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku will lead the upcoming mystery thriller K-drama and the two will work together with director Yoon Jong Bin. 

Nine Puzzle will showcase the journey of a profiler who was the only eyewitness of a case from 10 years ago and a violent team detective who is suspicious of the profiler as a suspect. The two will dig into a serial murder case with a mysterious puzzle piece.
