Park Bo Gum in talks to lead new crime/action drama 'Good Boy'

According to media outlet reports on July 15 KST, actor Park Bo Gum has been offered a role in a new drama titled 'Good Boy'.

 

Written by Lee Dae Il of 'Life On Mars' and directed by Shim Na Yeon of 'The Good Bad Mother', 'Good Boy' tells the stories of international competition medalists from various sports categories who are specially employed by the government to serve in the police force. Instead of their medals, they wear police IDs around their necks to catch cheaters and dirty players redhanded.

Park Bo Gum is in talks to take on the role of Yoon Dong Joo, a former boxer currently assigned to a special force. 

 

Meanwhile, Park Bo Gum is currently busy filming his next small-screen project, 'You Did Good'.

An entertainment industry official told Sports Chosun on August 4th, saying “Kim So Hyun will play the main character in the drama ‘Good Boy’”. 

In this regard, Kim So Hyun’s agency IEUM Hashtag stated, “We’ve received a casting offer and are reviewing it”.

 

Good Boy” depicts the story of Olympic medalists who become police officers due to a special reason. Instead of wearing medals, they wear police badges around their necks to face the world full of corruption and unfairness.

Oh Jung Se in Talks to Work with Park Bo Gum in "Good Boy"

Oh Jung Se will reportedly star in his 6th upcoming K-drama.

On July 25, it was reported that Oh Jung Se will be joining hands with Park Bo Gum in the upcoming mystery comedy K-drama Good Boy.

Oh Jung Se's agency responded to the reports. According to Prain TPC, the actor did receive the offer to star in the upcoming K-drama Good Boy and he is currently reviewing it. 

If Oh Jung Se confirms his casting, this will be his 6th upcoming K-drama. The actor is set to star in the upcoming series Death's Game, Mr. Plankton, The Return of Kwon Baek, When the Stars Gossip, and Sweet Home Season 2. He will also possibly join Sweet Home Season 3.

Oh Jung Se is currently starring in the   K-drama Revenant with Kim Tae Ri, Hong Kyung, Park Ji Young, Kim Won Hae, and Ye Soo Jung. 

Aside from the long list of K-drama projects, Oh Jung Se will also join the upcoming movies Cobweb and High Five.

Oh Jung Se has starred in several popular K-dramas such as Little Women, Jirisan, The Good Detective, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, Hot Stove League, When the Camellia Blooms, Misaeng: Incomplete Life, and more. 

The actor is known for being good at picking his works because he's been starring in a lot of hit K-dramas even this year.

Kim So Hyun is positively considering starring in the upcoming K-drama Good Boy. 

Media outlets reported on August 4th that Kim So Hyun will also be joining the upcoming series Good Boy. She will reportedly work alongside Park Bo Gum and Oh Jung Se who are also in talks to lead the K-drama. 

Kim So Hyun's agency IEUM HASHTAG confirmed the reports that the actress got the offer to star in the upcoming K-drama. According to them, Kim So Hyun is positively considering the offer.

If Kim So Hyun officially joins the upcoming K-drama, this will be her reunion project with the screenwriter after seven years. The two worked together in the 2016 series Bring It On, Ghost.

Kim So Hyun is currently starring in the recently premiered K-drama My Lovely Liar. She works alongside NU'EST Hwang Min Hyun, Seo Ji Hoon, Lee Si Woo, Yun Ji On, and Nam Hyun Woo.

On January 11, it was confirmed that Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun will be starring in JTBC’s new drama “Good Boy” (literal title).

“Good Boy” is an action-packed comic drama that follows the journey of a group of gold medalists who, faced with financial struggles, short career spans, injuries, and other challenges, become special police officers. Together, they form the “Olympics Avengers” and use their unique skills acquired during their time as athletes to fight violent crime.

“Good Boy” will be written by Lee Dae Il of “Chief of Staff” and “Life on Mars” and will be helmed by Shim Na Yeon of “Beyond Evil” and “The Good Bad Mother.”

Park Bo Gum will be starring as the role of Yoon Dong Joo, a former Olympic gold medalist boxer who becomes a police officer for the Special Violent Crime Unit through special employment for Olympic athletes. Born with a talent for fighting, Yoon Dong Joo becomes an Olympic hero, but after experiencing despair, he starts his life anew as a police officer, rediscovering his instincts as a fighter while facing injustice.

Kim So Hyun will be playing Ji Han Na, an Olympic gold medalist in shooting who received great love from the general public as a “shooting goddess” with her beautiful looks. However, due to an incident that shocks the world, she quits shooting and begins to walk the path of a police officer. Although she appears calm and collected, she is charmingly honest and straightforward when it comes to love and work.

On January 11, JTBC officially confirmed that Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun will be leading the upcoming comedy action K-drama titled Good Boy.

I'd prefer action, mystery.. without the comedy tbh but still....wow cos  I Like the cast. More than that.. when I saw who the writer and director was.... I'm sold! I've seen all three dramas except for GBM..love love love Beyond Evil and Chief Of Staff esp BE.
