[Exclusive] Goo Ji Soo gets the lead role in 'Parole Officer'... Is it 'Woo Young Woo' syndrome

https://thumbnews.nateimg.co.kr/view610///news.nateimg.co.kr/orgImg/is/2023/10/05/isp20231005000089.559x.0.jpg

Actor Go Soo is returning to Anbang Theatre in the lead role of 'Parole Officer Lee Hanshin'.
According to entertainment industry sources on Friday, Go Soo Soo will resume his acting career after more than a year since tvN's "Missing: They Were There 2" as the main character of KT Studio Gini's new drama "Parole Officer Lee Han Shin. Although he appeared in the one-act drama "Summer, Love Machine Blues" in July, "Parole Officer Lee Han Shin" is a 12-episode drama, which is a welcome change for his fans.

Parole Officer Lee tells the story of Lee Hanshin, a man who becomes a parole officer out of revenge. It's a legal drama that follows Lee Hanshin as he gains the power to decide whether inmates will be released on parole. Go Soo plays the role of Lee Hanshin and leads the film.

Go Soo has been loved by viewers for his work in both romance and genre films. It will be interesting to see how he will create the character of Lee Hanshin with his unique atmosphere along with the acting skills he has accumulated over the past 25 years since his debut in 1998.

'Parole Officer Lee Hanshin' will be directed by Yoon Sang-ho, the director of 'The River Where the Moon Rises,' 'Lovers of Jinx,' and 'Curtain Call'. His unique directorial skills in the human genre, such as healing, are expected to shine once again in 'Parole Examiner Lee Han-shin'.

'Parole Examiner Lee Hanshin' is the work of Park Chi-hyung, who won the grand prize at the 1st KT Studio Genie Series Competition held last year. The contest was organised by KT Studio Gnee to discover outstanding IPs and support talented creators for the production of original series.

At the time, "Parole Officer Lee Hanshin" received the highest rating in terms of film potential due to the freshness of the new theme of a parole officer, the charm of the main character, and the engaging script with an exciting way of solving the case.

Previously, KT StudioGenie has been accelerating its content planning and production after ENA's 'Strange Lawyer Woo Young-woo' created an all-time phenomenon. In the first half of this year alone, the company has made a remarkable progress by presenting works of various materials and genres such as 'Paper Moon', 'House with a Yard', and 'Nam Nam'. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if he will succeed at the box office again with 'Parole Examiner Lee Hanshin' with a different theme.

'Parole Officer Lee Hanshin' is expected to start filming soon and be released next year.
